They did not arrive in small boats across the Channel.

It is NOT getting worse, these crossings are very much down on previous years. But, of course, facts are not much use with a lot of people.

Young men, are usually the main and first asylum seekers, often being funded by a an area or village. Hoping that if they make it to get to an appropriate safe country, they can eventually help to fund better conditions for their people back home.

Britain has always been made up by immigrants for at least two thousand years. Refugees here are still less (proportion of population), than in most other European countries.

I am just so very, very grateful that neither I nor any member of my family have to take this sort of journey and dire risk in order to be able to live.

Of course, my ancestors did, escaping from the czar in the latter part of the 19th century, and also from Nazis in mid 20th century. They also experienced this sort of hostility, but most managed to get on with their very productive lives here.

Of course they're human beings and no one wants anyone to lose their life in a dangerous crossing, particularly not that little baby being dangled by his arm who was pictured yesterday.

Bear in mind that the women who have been raped, accosted, degraded and in one case murdered by asylum seekers are also human beings. These not unknown happenings need to be acknowledged and planning as to where these young men are placed needs to be given more consideration as to how communities are going to cope. I can't imagine what it must be like to live in a village of 400 people and then have over 1,000 young men with little to do just dumped there. It's not just about colour of skin, ethnicity or religion. Small communities can and have also be besieged by traveller communities who roll up and park themselves in community playgrounds, cutting through locks, paving over fields without planning permission and then leaving large amounts of debris that can include both dog and human faeces. Apologies for conflating two issues but most people just want to live peaceably alongside their neighbours, know their children are safe, without the worry of knowing that they're being put in a potentially dangerous situation.

I think the uk has blood on it's hands every time a life is lost in the crossings.

Many of the posts on social media are mentioning the fact that most of the occupants of the ‘small boats’ are young men, often referred to as ‘fighting age’ men. This suits Reform & co, as people may infer that these young men may be coming here to fight the patriotic Christian British!

No life jacket, no protection from the elements, no love or care shown.
You cannot legally transport a baby in a car in France or England without approved restraint yet the powers that be turn a blind eye where these boats are concerned.

The whole situation causes me so much grief, I have concern for the immigrants but I also have huge concern for the UK, when will it stop, how can we keep paying, the knock on effect the NHS, benefits, the long term as these people will need pensions/benefits/and care in their old age.

I read a positive about this huge boat, apparently the boats are getting much harder to source in France due to the vigilance of the French.

So these awful traffickers are loading more and more people into the boats they can source.

I think the PM s actually at an emergency cobra meeting today re our own wildfires.

It seems like nothing is happening re the “boats”, but I’m pretty sure much more is going on behind the scenes than we are told.

Whilst I dearly want these boats to stop and the traffickers caught and severely penalised, my concern is about the women and children taking these terrible risks, as well as the men.

They are all humans and are only doing what perhaps many of us would do if we were ever unlucky enough to be in their situation.

I don’t care if these people are men, women or children, actually you, personally, do not know all of their personal circumstances, none of us do, I choose not to judge.

I don’t think it’s for us to judge what our PM prioritises, it’s his job to make these decisions, not ours.

Lobby your MP, if you’re so convinced he’s on the wrong path.
