Good morning everyone from yet another hot Northampton day; bracing myself for the next heatwave this week.

Did not do a lot yesterday apart from yoga and popping to the vets to pick up yet more medication for little cat, this time an appetite stimulant. Had to laugh when I saw that it was the pet equivalent of an anti-depressant, one of the side effects being increased appetite. This one comes as a gel to be rubbed on her ear which is easier than trying to get her to eat it in her food.

Heard from the pet insurance people this morning and they have accepted my claim, which after last week's investigations stands at 4 figures....

Very little planned for today; have stripped the bed and bedding is in the washing machine. I shall probably have a tidy up in the bedrooms and damp dust up stairs. May take the Shark upstairs.

Easyish dinner tonight, M&S tuna fishcake with new potatoes and peas. Chicken sandwich for lunch.

Respect, Melanie! The only thing I ever managed to crochet was a small rather misshapen square. I was very proud of it. My friend, who was a very creative crocheter, fell about laughing! I can knit, though!

This is the pattern, it’s just three single colour yarns. It’s not as complicated as some knitted fair aisles I’ve seen but it’s definitely keeping my mind occupied.

Good morning from Durham - a pleasant start to the day. Last night my poorly friend cancelled meeting up - she has been told to rest and now diagnosed with another illness requiring urgent attention. We’ve texted through the night, then I fell asleep, to be woken by the window cleaner (who had gone AWOL) at 8am.
So, I’ve an unexpected free morning, but can finish off DD2’s laundry and then drop it off with her after my 3pm Podiatry appointment.
Do take it easy Rosesand and that goes for anyone reading who’s struggling with health issues, however serious or trivial.

Good morning from Sunnyside Sandhills northwest coast.
My cat feeding next door continues and I go round in a kaftan or anything I happen to throw on.
A quiet day yesterday and this afternoon I’ll go to the music club after missing it for a few weeks through family staying etc.
But now I have colourful ribbons on my tambourine! I’ll probably be in charge on the desk and hope to keep out of the kitchen and refreshment side.

Good morning Mick and everyone from sunny Carlisle.

Yesterday morning was a busy round of cleaning and laundry then after lunch I was out in the garden. I got a shrub planted in what started out as moist soil which was barely damp as I got deep down. Hours of good rain a day or two ago was quite insufficient as I knew really. There won't be any more planting for a few days, even here we are forecast warmer weather.
Today I've already been for an early walk, it's very pleasant in the park at this time of day.
Now I'm having my second coffee and will shortly drive out to investigate suitable viewpoints for seeing tomorrow's eclipse, within walking distance I hope. I don't fancy taking a long drive tomorrow evening to see it over the sea on the west coast.
Later, I may tackle the ironing or clean bathrooms or I may investigate my pile of unread books. I naughtily withdrew a book from the charity shop bag yesterday, a cook book, but I will make up for it with others shortly. I'm currently on a mission to lose books I know I won't want to look at again.

I know how frustrating it can be having to sit about recuperating R&L but take care of yourself, best wishes!

I have the chimney sweep this morning. The pigeon was dead in the grate when I got home yesterday. Sorry not to be able to reach it or persuade it to eat or drink, but relieved that episode is over.

After chiropractor yesterday and exercise class I made some pasta bowls in the pottery, had lunch at our community store/café and my friend gave me a lift to Edinburgh but the wool shop is closed on Mondays. Ofcourse it is. 😕

Morning, it’s pleasantly cool in S Hants, but it’ll soon heat up. Voluntary phone ticked over yesterday and a good chat with a friend over lunch here.

Slowly does it R&L I hope ‘muddles’ are sorted, don't you go fixing, rest and more rest for now.
I’ll get my exercises done early before the heat gets going, then I have chasing phone calls to make, MrJ has an important bowls match tonight.

Doctor’s appointment this morning as my MRI result is back showing a bulge on my spine. I am hoping he can decipher it and offer treatment.

Then coffee and a trip to M&S to pick up some handy meals as I find it difficult to stand for long.

I had a busy day yesterday, lots of gardening and then out line dancing last night. Today I’ve an aerobics class at the gym this morning then DH is going to pick me up, we’re going for coffee at the garden centre and then a browse around.
I definitely agree about feeling busy Baubles my feeling busy is nothing like my DDs either!

Good morning from hot and sunny Wiltshire.

Yesterday with GD3 and GS2 was good in parts. We went to the park in the afternoon. I wish they wouldn’t fight so much. The play area has no shade so we didn’t stay for very long. I really did lie down for half an hour when DH took them home.

Today D1 is coming over for the day with GD1 and picking up GD2 on the way who is her cousin (DS’s daughter). GD2 has just turned 13 but gets on very well with her GD1 who is 20. We are going to Côte in Bath for lunch.

Gingster I was once prescribed Buscopan for IBS years ago. Seems an odd thing to prescribe for sciatica. How miserable for your son. I hope they are able to take their holiday.

Take it easy R&D. Your DH was very fortunate not to break something falling down a hatch. Keep an eye on his cuts though.

Morning all from an increasingly hot West Oxfordshire.

A mainly mooching around day until I pop round to a friend’s after lunch for a cup of tea. Two of our friends are not well at all. One of them I have known for over forty years since we were in the Village baby sitting circle! She is in her 80s and has been ill for some time. Apparently she can’t be left alone.

Good morning from a cool,as yet,Suffolk where D is due to arrive shortly to start painting the outside of our house. We have known him for years as he is the nephew of the very skilful builder we used for 40+ plus years before he retired last year. D has a bank of customers inherited from his uncle and an excellent reputation to uphold.

I’m meeting an old friend in our nearest town at midday. She lives in Norfolk and we usually meet a couple of ti,es a year in Norwich. She said she has never been here so she is getting a bus from Norwich which must go all round the houses as it takes just over an hour.

She’ll enjoy the ride I’m sure and then we’ll wander from the bus stop where I’ll wait for her at the top of the town looking at some of the interesting shops and old buildings to the pub where I’ve booked a table in the bar for lunch. Lucky I did as the window tables which I wanted were already booked.

Hope today is a good one for all.

I’ve a fairly busy day ahead, a nail appointment followed by a visit from a friend as she makes her way north then a meal out this evening with other friends.

My DD laughs at what I consider to be busy these days, can’t blame her considering what they have to fit into their schedule.

Good morning from Stockport where it is only 17 degrees and deliciously cool.
High of 27 forecast so a day indoors for me.
This year I can’t cope with the heat, so strange to suddenly feel this.

Family got off ok yesterday, it was not as hot as here in N Wales but the coast is always a few degrees cooler.It seemed strange to have a completely empty house, I didn’t really like it.

I hope you can all stay cool and hydrated today, R&L not ideal for your recovery but I hope it progresses well.

Yesterday, I took DH to Mass,but didn't potter about and follow my usual routine, because DH was waiting.
While he was waiting for me, he had a stroll around the beautiful church grounds and a look at the restoration work.
So many people (he only knew by sight) said, they were glad to see him,

Today, we have a GP telephone consultation, I have a list as long as your arm!

My other job is to look for two missing different black sandals.sandals. I have no idea where they are! 😕

Good morning from a cool but bright Anglesey. I’m sure it will hot up later. My back is still giving me grief. I put a hot water behind me to travel yesterday and it’s blistered my back.
I’m trying not to complain too much as it is DH’s birthday. We travel on to site near Barmouth today. Take care 🌸
