Morning all from West Oxfordshire.

Good to hear from you R&L. 💐

I spent several hours yesterday working on my new patchwork quilt. It’s going to be huge! I’m going to put a border on it which will make it even more gigantic.

Hairdressers today where I’ll have my roots done. One day I’ll embrace the grey, but that day isn’t here yet!

OH still has a dreadful cough but won’t see the GP. He’s had to cancel various outings.

Have a good day everyone. I’m thinking of those GNs with difficult appointments coming up.

Good morning Mick and all 🙋‍♀️

The sky is clear blue, I think it is going to be another glorious day here in S E Essex. I am off to the gym first thing, then I will have a cup of tea and catch up with the local gossip with my pals.

Good to hear from you Rosesandlilac I hope you continue to feel better after your op 🌹🪻

I hope your DH’s procedure goes as well as these things can Marydoll take things easy yourself. 👍

Bellasnana I would not like to be without my car, I think it is my comfort blankie, knowing I can go anywhere anytime without relying on anyone.

I do hope Friday is kind to you all 🙋‍♀️

I read this thread, but don’t post on it as a rule.

Just came in to say glad to see RosesandLilac feeling better.

Hope you’re soon home and recovering.

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 13° with some cloud and sun. I'm wishing Marydoll and her Mr all the best for today. Bellasnana I'm not sure what I would do without my car! Maybe I will get rid of it once the boys no longer need looked after.
Yesterday I achieved the housework. I also washed the floors and felt very virtuous. My friend messaged me at night to tell me her mum is on palliative care now in hospital. She has had a rapid decline and my friend and her dad are struggling with it. I wish I could be more help.
Today I am looking after dgs2. Dd has a works day she can't get out of. This time, I have booked soft play for the morning. I'm not a fan, but it will help him run about and hopefully find a pal. Then back to grandma's house to rest and play. He will be picked up at 3 by dsil. Dinner will be something out of the freezer. Have a good day all.

Good morning from a very cool N Surrey. Last night I had to get up and put on a spare pyjama jacket and even a pair of socks it was that cool/cold. I contemplated a hot water bottle.

This morning I opened the kitchen patio doors as usual and wow it was cool, but the sun was up and the sky blue. Perfect after so many hot days. Like karmalady I will let the fabric of the house really cool this morning ready for the rising temperatures this weekend and next week.
Nothing planned for today. I may assemble all the paperwork ready for my tax return this afternoon with a mug of tea in my shadiest room. And I will start to cut back the lavender bushes early evening once the sun has moved to the front of the house. They are old overgrown bushes and very dry but prolific. I may dig them out this winter and replant with new. The garden will need a lot of dead shrivelled plants digging out and a rethink.

Goodness it's Friday and almost the weekend again. How fastnit goes by whether I am busy or not.

Well, it’s good morning from my comfortable hospital bed where I’m at last feeling human again! It’s clear blue skies and the air con is very nice.
All went well with my surgery and hopefully I’m going home today. Wednesday and Thursday were a tad rocky, I don’t react well to general anaesthetic, spent in a blur or morphine but at the moment I feel not too bad.
I’ve missed two days so I must catch up with the incredibly supportive and kind GNers on here, I’m so very touched by all your messages, love and kindness. You honestly have no idea how appreciative I am 🙏🤗
Love to everyone xx

Thinking of md & mr md today. Hope all goes as planned

Good morning from cooler s somerset, 9 degrees just now and I am cooling the house before the next heat build-up

Cleaning was finished in two hours yesterday, very satisfying it was too, seeing the fluff and dust vanish from under furniture in my bedroom. Washing was done and put away, I was in whirling dervish mode

My new sewing project is giving me joy, I do like a slow and precise make and it is such a shame that the pattern designer has shut her business because of the work involved, I am going to make sure I have all her patterns on pdf. This one is a dress called the kelly dress, I have made it in the past but the colour was `not me`, the design was gorgeous. I have sized up a bit in the waist area and am making another wearable toile, this time in pretty soft cotton in pale apple green.

The weather is lovely again today, no housework for me, just a long cycle ride this morning. Going through the old villages and hamlet is like going back in time, old orangery attached to a beautiful old house, vicarages, parsonage, old manor farm, a farm that has big metal gates, cottages in the pristine manicured grounds but is still a working farm

My organic bits of food are due any moment, then a big mug of tea and a slice of my sourdough toast, it definitely is worth the effort of making

Thinking of MD and her DH and Roses important days for them and am hoping all is well

Good morning from Malta where it is sunny with a high of 39°C forecast.

Didn’t do anything to speak of yesterday. Today I have my nails at 11,30 so will have to get the car out of the garage. I use it so little I’m considering getting rid of it as it’s easy to get a cab and probably cheaper than running a car.

Hoping RosesandLilac is recovering from her surgery. Best of luck to Marydoll and Mr Marydoll for today.🙏🏻

Wishing you all the best day possible.☀️

Good morning from Bristol. The temperatures are climbing again 🥵
Yesterday was quiet. In the early afternoon, I went with the church hall handyman to change the 50year old stage curtains. They were in a dire condition.
The person who measured them made a monumental dogs dinner, they were far too narrow. Quite honestly, I wouldn’t have paid for them as there was no hem either, just an overlocked edge, etc.
In the end, we put two narrow curtains on each side and the two back ones are to be ordered at the cost of another grand. As I didn’t do the measurements or ordering, I just went with it, but if I had I would have been incandescent and sent them back. They look ok, I suppose. At least, they are clean.
Today, I have a hygienist appointment, my Monday one was cancelled at the last minute as he was unwell. I’ve got someone else this morning.
In the afternoon, my hair salon is opening again. One of my two neighbours can talk the hind legs off a donkey. She is kind but is the original grumpy old woman. It’s exhausting.
I hope r&l is doing well after surgery; all the best to Mr. MD.
