Good morning from South Lanarkshire, happy to see that the sun is out.

Good to hear from you Roses, best wishes for your recovery.

Hope all goes smoothly today MD.

I have a Grandchild lying beside me, she woke an hour ago, lay reading for a while then crept in when she heard DH in the shower. Her siblings are still sound asleep.

Today we will take them over to DD’s house to see their cousins.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Morning, 10 and sun in S Hants.
So good to hear from you Roses gentle days ahead.
My priority today is to sort my car, the engine management light is on, hopefully just a sensor.
Tesco delivery later and pub tonight.
Have a pleasant day all.

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s a dry bright start to the day
So good to hear from you roses and especially that you’re hopefully going home today, I hope you’re not in too much pain and well on the way to recovery
I’ve a volunteering session this morning then going into town to meet a friend for coffee and have a quick browse around the shops.
Thinking of Marydoll and her DH today and hoping all goes well
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

kittylester Fri 07-Aug-26 07:47:35

Good morning all from a bright and warm North Leicestershire.

Today is DH's 81st birthday!! We are expecting DD2 and Co for a few days but their youngest had a temperature yesterday so they might leave it until tomorrow. As it is, we have to take the car in to the garage and hope they can remedy it's occasional refusal to start.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Good morning from a sunny Suffolk where my day has been brightened by seeing your post R&L. I hope all goes well for your discharge from hospital today and you can recover your strength at home in the next few days and weeks.

We had a lovely couple of hours with DiL and children and their young dog yesterday. Today I’m meeting one of my closest friends for coffee and lunch but we have yet to confirm where to meet. Making such a minor decision seems like too much effort for both of us especially since everywhere we usually go will be very busy with locals and holiday makers.

Hope all have a good day and the hospital appt for MrMD is as stress free as such things can be.

Rosesandlilac Good to hear you are recovering and comfortable. Onwards and upwards.

dragonfly46 Fri 07-Aug-26 07:51:25

Good morning from sunny Leicestershire.

It’s great to hear from RosesandLilac I hope you manage to get home today..

Fortunately the opticians went well yesterday and my cataracts haven’t got any worse.
The engineer from Severn Trent was extremely helpful. We don’t have a leak under the house just a little trip in the overflow tank in the loft. Just need together the plumber in to fix a few things.

Sadly I learned on FB that our neighbour in Holland had died.

Today is DH’s diabetic review so will have lunch on the way.

I hope Marydoll’s DH has a smooth procedure today.

Wishing everyone the best day possible.

Good morning from a dull northwest coast. So glad you are on the other side of your op’ Rosesandlilac and hope you make a good and steady recovery💐

All my visitors have left now. DD and niece to the south, DS twenty miles away and nephew to the western isles. DD FaceTimed me on her journey and said the chat helped it go by faster.

My dental appointment went well, although after my dramas not so long ago with a broken abscessed tooth, I’m feeling a bit phobic about dentists and can’t wait to get out of the place.

My front door and bedroom window are being measured again this morning and then the day is my own, which pleases me after the busyness of the last week. Still jobs to do, admin and otherwise.
Thoughts to all🌺

Good morning Mick and everyone from a Carlisle of sun and cloud. It has obviously showered during the night and I expect more.
I went for an early walk yesterday morning then pottered until my mid-morning Tesco delivery. The driver told me about the abuse and bad behaviour he could get from his customers. His customers! What are people becoming?!

Today I'm hoping to get out in the garden, my Minarette crab apples are due their summer pruning and there's lots of deadheading to do. Followed by the pursuit of various little jobs. I don't know why I keep putting them off, I feel so much better after giving my halo a good polish!
My pulled calf muscle is not a lot better and the pain has extended up my leg and into my hip so jobs will be interspersed with sitting down. I'm wondering about using a physiotherapist.

Really pleased to see you posting R&L and hope you do get home today, no running around, mind!

And thoughts with the MDs, good luck!

Enjoy the day everyone.

Good to hear from you, Roses, hope you get home today.
Hope all goes well for. GMr & Mrs MD*
Happy Birthday to your DH, * Kittylester*
Next week will be busy, we’re having a walk in shower installed on the footprint of the bath. Hope it’s not too dirty a job 🤣.
Out to lunch today with my friend.
Hope everyone has a good day.

Good morning from Stockport.
It is cooler than of late but we are promised/threatened with temperatures in the 30’s again next week, oh joy!!

Yesterday was productive in a small way as my days are now.
I continues with the tidying and changed my bed which is so much easier now I use Nightlark duvets.
I washed it and it was back on the bed in just a few hours.

Today I am having a heart monitor fitted, I don’t know if it for 24 or 48 hours, my appointment has been changed from 12 noon to 2pm due to “ timetabling issues”
In two weeks I have an Echocardiogram in Manchester and see the Consultant on September the 1st.

It is so good to hear from R&L I hope you get home today and you have lots of looking after, you surely deserve it.

Will get my morning tea now and get on with my day.
Have the very best day you can.

Gingster Fri 07-Aug-26 08:16:19

Good morning . I was cold in bed last night and had to get up to put the duvet on. I’ve been sleeping with just a sheet.,

I’ll make the most of the cooler weather before ‘the heat, the heat, the terrible heat’ is back with us . It really is so draining!

Lots of phone calls and e mails yesterday, back and forth from Solicitors and Estate Agents. We’re nearly there. D day today 🤞.

I’ve been trying to get through to the hospital to book a very delayed appointment for my eyes (glaucoma). It’s 10 months since my last one. They always say ‘see you in 4 months’. Ha!!!
I’ve given up and decided on a private consultant. He could have seen me today 😳, but I have much to do , so it’s next Friday. Why i havent thought to do this before, I’ll never know.
Too much other stuff going on I suppose.

I don’t think we’ll see our Friday friends today. Dh isn’t bothered and I’m a busy bee. 🐝.

How lovely to ‘hear’ from you , Rosesandlilac. You sound upbeat and looking forward to going home to recuperate.
Take care.💐

Good luck today Mr and Mrs Marydoll. Hope all goes well. 🙏.

Wishing you all have a ‘good’ day 🌺

Grannydaisy1 Fri 07-Aug-26 08:20:11

roses how lovely to hear from you. Keep on getting better every day

Lindylou23 Fri 07-Aug-26 08:20:41

Good morning from South Wales, nothing much happening here for me, I am recovering from a fractured hip 9 weeks in, getting around on crutches it has been a long process another few weeks I think till I am able to walk without crutches and i can do an emergency stop. At least I can sit in the garden for a bit. Have a good day everyone.

Good morning from the Black Country, a cloudless blue sky where it is 12 deg at the moment

We are off on Sunday to Lyme Regis in the caravan, so today will be starting to get everything together, and packing clothes.

It looks like another week of hot weather, although looking at the forecast it will be around 25 deg there, but could reach 30 here. So perhaps we will be in the right place.

Good to hear from R&L and that the operation went well. Hope you are home soon.

Thinking of MD today and her DH, hope all goes well.

Happy birthday to MrLester flowers

Wishing you all the best day possible.

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Fri 07-Aug-26 08:43:05

Good morning everyone from south Manchester where it’s sunny (ish) with white cloud and a forecast of 21°C which is lovely as no rain expected.

I woke at 5am, feeling chilly. I closed the window and woke at 8am so I’m going to put the summer duvet back in the bed - sleeping under a sheet only is no longer warm enough!

Our Yorkshire Lass and her husband (I love saying that it’s still a novelty I’m so pleased they got married 3 years ago after 10 together!) are driving over. Here by noon. We 3 have tickets to see the ai wei wei ‘Button Up’ exhibition in Manchester and I’m beyond excited!

They are staying over so we will eat out somewhere. I was taking ‘Manchester’ at first but my generous hearted daughter wondered if my neighbour friend (widowed recently) might like to join us? She was delighted to be asked and so the 4 of us will eat back here. We will call for her once we get off the train across the road.

I felt melancholy yesterday evening. I miss Himself and sometimes I feel a bit ‘lost’ somehow. I had a good cry last night and a good sleep so I’m hoping today will be smoother emotionally. Grief has you riding a bucking rodeo sometimes and it’s all you can do to cling onto the mane and wait for it to calm down.

Thoughts with R&L today.
I shall read all the thread now as I drink my TiB.

TheWeirdoAgain60 Fri 07-Aug-26 08:58:46

Good morning, Michael12 and all!

Being my day off work today, I'd normally go to my favourite cafe for a Full English, but tonight, about 6, I'm off to Passage To India Fine Dine restaurant. 30-31 Windsor Terrace. They do the most gorgeous meals! I'll have a glass of Cobra with onion bhajees, then for main a Chicken Makhani and popadoms .... and maybe another Cobra!

So today I'll just eat lightly; a cucumber would be OK.

It's 8:57 am, and I'm back to bed as I've had another rough night.

In a while!

aggie Fri 07-Aug-26 09:00:36

Georgesgran Fri 07-Aug-26 09:01:38

Good Morning from a bright sunny Durham, hardly a cloud in the sky. I was pleased with my haul yesterday, including birthday gifts for my friend’s granddaughter, DGS1 and DD2.
I have an appointment this morning with my solicitor to sign my new will, then in the afternoon, meeting DD2 for our regular nail appointment.
Delighted to hear Rosesand is doing so well, but please rest when you get home.
Fingers crossed for the Marydolls that the hospital visit is achieved without too much drama.

Best wishes to all. X

Jaxjacky Fri 07-Aug-26 09:08:12

Happy Birthday MrKitty 🎂🥳🍻.

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. Chilly start here.

My DS1 called unexpectedly yesterday evening and took me out for a lovely meal in a country pub. His DW and DD are away so he had the dog.

Meanwhile my helper was at the Military Tattoo.

My DGD1 is 20 today. It seems so recently I was wheeling her in the little pram.....

I'm viewing a house this morning and have my volunteer shift this afternoon. Hope I don't fall asleep on the job.

Good to hear it's over and you may be home again today Rosesandlilac.

All the best for Mr and Marydoll

Have a good day everyone.
