Good morning from a very sunny Suffolk from where we could hear the music from Latitude last evening. The swimming huge lake on the estate is apparently closed because of algae so I imagine there will be lots of disappointed festival goers ( but relieved security guards who always fear accidents in there).

I had a lovely catch up with my dear friend yesterday and also with DGS1 who is off to South Africa today on a rugby, hockey and netball tour with his school. DGD2 did the tour when she was 16 2 years ago and had a wonderful time. I’m sure he will too as he lives for rugby.

A quiet peaceful day at home for us today, only walks with the little dog and our weekly Waitrose delivery this afternoon.

I hope today is a good one for all.

Good morning from a sunny but windy NE.
Lovely to see my friend yesterday, we opted for prawn sandwiches with a side salad and chips as neither of us had a big appetite.
She is travelling to Kent today and then on to France, she has booked a big house with a pool and the family will be joining her.
No visitors for me this weekend so will keep meals simple and possibly finish my novel.
Have a good weekend.

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s dry and still quite windy. We sleep with the bedroom window open and I was woken up by the wind at about 4am, I couldn’t get back to sleep for a while but I did eventually and now I’ve woken up late!
Today we’re getting our 2 new sofas delivered, I hope I like them. We’ve managed to sell one of the old ones and the other is still in the garage. Hopefully it’ll sell soon or it’ll just have to go to the charity shop.
We’ve not had any rain here yet grandmabatty, we could do with it as there’s quite a big forest fire raging away in the Cairngorms, it’s been burning for a few days now. Enjoy the sleepover later, lots of cuddles I hope and nice to have one on their own
Enjoy your meet up today Baubles and others, enjoy the chatter
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Liberty: Last summer, my DGS2 undertook a similar trip to South Africa with his school sports dept. It was the making of him as he went from being an immature adolescent to the thoughtful, sensible young man we knew was always there. Seeing the extreme poverty in the townships had a profound effect on him.

Good morning all from a wet Glasgow, where it is 15°C.

The usual Saturday regime for me.

Llfl, I picked up two online White Stuff orders yesterday, only to get home to receive an email, advising they had been returned and my refund was pending!
I spent an hour on live chat, trying to explain, that I did not return them. The agent wanted a screen shot of the email!
I eventually gave up.

DD turned up unexpectedly, before I went out. She needed to use my printer,
She kindly went to B&Q yesterday for me, when she saw I was unwell.♥️
I needed some things for church, but had been procrastinating

I had to come home early from Silverburn yesterday. I was sitting, trying to get my breath back, when a parishioner, I have known since our boys were friends at school, spotted me.
She was quite concerned to see the wrist splints, ankle support and walking stick.
I am usually very good at covering up at church.

I'm not too well today, my chest is very troublesome at the moment. I may stay in bed for a while.

GG, your day out sounds idyllic! 💚💚💚

Gosh, what a lot of work, Marzipan, A very talented lady, indeed!

Have a good day folks.

Morning from a sunny S Hants, I’d love to be writing heavy rain!
MrJ in a golf tournament today, squash in the fridge, sun cream in his bag.
I’ll potter, a good day with my hip yesterday, we went to our local, how lovely to get out, fingers crossed for today.
Love the jacket Marzipan
Enjoy visitors today and trips out, take care those struggling.

Good morning from the edge of South Lanarkshire where I have enjoyed an overnight visit with DD4 and DSinLaw. Home this morning and another overnight with DD1 on the farm, she’ll pick me up late this afternoon. Son in law is driving dawn to London today to collect DGD2 and all her ‘stuff’ after a six week internship before starting her fourth and final year at uni.
She was full of trepidation before she left but has really enjoyed it, she says that everyone was really kind.
I can’t believe how the last three years have passed so quickly.

I hope everyone has a decent weekend, our weather has reverted to normal so a fair bit cooler and windy.

Enjoy your catch up day baubles and everyone else too.

Great jacket Marzipan!

Good morning from Durham. It’s bright and sunny here but very windy.
My front door lock failed last night, but I can lock the porch and I’ve put a heavy weight behind the door to keep it closed - but I can’t use my newly upgraded alarm - these things really are sent to try us! I’ll contact a locksmith on Monday.
In addition traffic noise was much worse and I think a major road nearby must’ve been closed overnight.
I think I’m meeting my Monday friend for coffee at 10.30 - tbc, as she’s hoping to go away to a relative tomorrow, that’s not confirmed yet either.
DD2 with DGS2 and dog are coming later and we might visit a funfair that’s been set up not far away, for the school holidays - I expect I’ll spend a small fortune.

Take care MD
Best wishes to all. X

Good morning all.

Yesterday I was picked up for our usual get gogether at the pub. Dh decided he didn’t feel up to it. Just as well as it was unusually noisy with large groups, in ‘our’ part of the pub. He would have hated it.

A couple of hours later sitting at home, there was a massive explosion (did your houses shake, GG and Sar).
An industrial unit had blown up, only a mile from where we’d been sitting in the pub.
All the neighbours were out wondering what the heck it was. Apparently heard 15 miles away., was on the National news.

Today I’m having lunch with Dd, dgd1 and dgd6. Celebrating my birthday and dgd1 24th birthday 😳. It will be lovely as we only see her rarely as she now lives and works in Southampton.

Bellasnanna I remember panic stations when a GC hadn’t packed their ‘ comforts.’ I remember clothy, lioney, and kingy, especially. 🥹. Trying to find replacements was hard. Well done you.

I saw the Director of Lattitude talking about the festival on Look East Liberty. He mentioned the lake. It looked so bare and dry there. I hope fire precautions are in order especially with all those people camping .

Oh Marydoll. You’re having a rough ride. Take it easy and look after yourself. 💐.

Thoughts to all strugglers 🌺

Good morning everyone from south Manchester where its gorgeous out but Alexa says cloudy later with showers and our high will only be 19°C today.

I’m off to see my stepfather on the bus mid morning. Will phone him first to see whether he’d like anything from my larder or any cash from the ATM. I’ve not seen him this week as I’ve been minding L’il Miss. One end of the family age group to the other today as L’il Miss is being dropped off here at teatime for her second ever sleepover. We are both excited!

Right - time to drink my TiB and read all your posts. I’m a bit later today because I didn’t have to set an alarm. 😁

Good morning fro a warm but breezy Stockport.
I have had my tea but no breakfast yet so must get moving but no rush I have an empty day.
I went with family friends to another, new to me, Italian restaurant last evening.
It has been open 8 weeks, it was good but so crowded and very noisy, I prefer the one I went to last week.

I must get on with sorting out the clutter in the house as I have cleaners starting on Thursday, I hope they suit me and I suit them , the last one didn’t!

Have the best day you can everyone.
