Good morning from the NE Mids. Lifted a few more onions yesterday, their necks were well bent over and they’re now on the curing rack. It won’t be long before our first beetroot harvest too.
MrA is at the opticians today so it’s a trip into town for us.
Have a good day one and all!

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 14° and sunny. GrannyGravy and Gingster happy birthday to you both. Gagagran that's a very moving trip for that gentleman. How kind of the cycling club. Brook enjoy having your dgc for a sleepover.
Yesterday played out as expected. I picked up the boys, fed them breakfast then dropped off dgs1 at football camp. I decided to take dgs2 to a soft play in Linlithgow. It was practically empty but he found a wee girl his age and they played together. The only other people there were 2 ladies with some smaller children. I thought i would have a nice peaceful time, eating a roll on sausage and drinking tea. However one of the ladies decided I was her new best friend and spoke at me the entire time. I learned more about her life than I wanted to know.
After soft play, dgs2 had fun at my house with soapy water and Bluey toys before we picked up dgs1, who was raging we had gone to soft play without him. He doesn't enjoy soft play anymore. Definitely fomo.
Today I will tidy up the mayhem from yesterday. How can two small boys make so much mess? I have a friend coming round for coffee this afternoon but that's all. Dinner is probably going to be chicken. Have a good day all

Second attempt!

Good morning all from a cloudy Glasgow, where is is 12°C, with a remp of 23°c expected.

Birthday greetings, GG & Gingster. DH has yet another hospital appointment today.Last night was rather surreal. I tried to move away in bed from DH's inflating arm, but as I tried to push myself away, my hand decided to do its" claw manoeuvre and my arm was frozen mid air.air.🦞
You will ask yourself, why I didn't sleep in another room., due to the BP machine inflating every hour.

I am doing another cull and the spare room bed is full of clothes.
I am becoming very aware of my mortality and am trying to be practical, clearing out the unnecessary elements of my life.

Yesterday, I had two serious episodes of vertigo and feeling
faint. The last time this happened, I ended up in the cardiology ward.
I wish I knew, why I am not getting any better. Only six days to my hospital appointment.

Yet another hospital appointment for DH today. Things are definitely moving. Yesterday, he received a letter, asking him me to make an appointment for an endoscopy and colomoscopy.
I won't bore you with yesterday's debacle.

I need to pop down to church and pick up a surplice to repair, My friend has burned hole in his.
.I offered to sneak into church and source a replacement, but he declined.
He likes this one, he is really tall and this one fits him well. Also, his initials are embroidered on it by me and he is attached to it! 😉

I wish you all the best of days, especially my fellow mountainners.

I thought I would include some photos of my garden.

Good Morning from a bright, sunny Durham, where we’re forecast up to 20c.
I’m now in possession of a new house alarm system, a bit different to operate from the old one - and very, very loud! Having delivered something to DD2 last night, I have a big bag of DGS2’s laundry to get through.
I’m meeting a friend for coffee at 10, then a visit to the surgery for my annual blood tests this afternoon. For no reason, I’m a bit apprehensive this year, I’m not ill, but definitely feel a bit different - hard to explain.
More watering before dark too.

🎂🍾 GG and Gingster hope you both have a lovely day.

Best wishes to all. X

Good morning! I slept badly until 4am then slept until 7.
It’s going to be another warm day here on the hillside in south Glos.
I too have a desiccated garden HelterSkelter, there’s little I can do about it as I limit how much I use the hosepipe and the water butts are empty.
Happy birthday Ginster & Grannygravy, I hope you have lovely birthdays 🎂
I spent a lovely couple of hours with my friend yesterday, she has a beautiful garden and we sat under an ancient apple tree. I was fascinated watching swifts zipping around above our heads, they nest in her outbuildings.
The usual housework this morning, tedious but necessary. I need to decide what we’re eating today, no enthusiasm for cooking here! I might do frittata and new potatoes and salad 🥗
Best wishes from me x

Morning all from West Oxfordshire where a warm and sunny day is promised.

Granddaughter went back to Kew yesterday after her little holiday with us. We made a gluten free chocolate cake for her parents to take back. The flour was replaced by ground almonds and oats. Her mum is gluten-free. Elder son reckons Vienna, where he and his partner just spent a few days, is one of his favourite cities. I would agree.

OH and I are going to see The Odyssey this morning. We will take sandwiches as it will be over lunchtime. This evening I have booked Steak Night at a nearby restaurant.

Talking about gardens - our lawns are getting browner and everything is just drooping. We now have a hosepipe ban!

Have a good day everyone.

RosesandLilac Wed 22-Jul-26 07:50:51

What a beautiful garden Marydoll! Mine’s small and frizzled in this drought 🙄😁

Marydoll Wed 22-Jul-26 07:51:20

And DH's precious begonias.

Good morning from another cloudy sky and happy birthday to GG and Gingster. I hope you both have a lovely day and don’t feel any older than yesterday!

It’s my keep fit this morning,my last until September as the class stops in August and I have a meeting next Wednesday. I’m having coffee with 3 friends from the class and J has booked a table at the cafe overlooking the boating lake as it is likely to be very busy as the school holidays have begun here.

Hope today is a good one for all, especially for those struggling with worries or ill health.

brook2704 Wed 22-Jul-26 08:03:45

What a beautiful garden Marydoll - thanks for the pictures 🌻

Good morning from South Lanarkshire. It’s going to be another lovely day I think.

Happy birthday GG and Gingster, hope you each enjoy your day.

Yesterday was my first day in the shop for a month and I really felt it. My back has been grumbling even though I tried not to lift anything heavy.

We’re going over to collect DS’s children this morning, we’ll have them for a few days so will have to think of ways of entertaining them.

Wishing everyone the best day possible.

Marydoll Wed 22-Jul-26 08:08:28

Thank you. I hope it doesn't look as if I am showing off. It is my happy place and retreat, when I am not feeling too goog.💕

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Wed 22-Jul-26 08:10:00

What a stunning garden you have Marydoll! And it’s good to see you do get sunshine up in Scotland 😁

Gingster Wed 22-Jul-26 08:13:12

Good morning all and a very Happy Birthday GrannyGravy.
Twins indeed. 🥳.

Today my friend is taking me out for lunch and Dh wants me to buy something special from him.
We’ll have something nice to eat this evening together.

He’s going out with his pal for lunch which is the highlight of his week so that’s good for both of us,

Take care all 🌺

Grandmabatty Wed 22-Jul-26 08:14:32

Marydoll your garden is beautiful. Fgt scotland is often sunny, particularly in May, June and September. It isnt always warm!

Sar53 Wed 22-Jul-26 08:21:41

Good morning from the Essex coast.

Happy birthday 🥳 🎂 gingand gg

EkwaNimitee Wed 22-Jul-26 08:31:01

Good morning Mick and everyone from bright Carlisle where it will no doubt be too warm for me to be out and doing soon. I don't mind cold, I just like it cold and sunny!

The days are getting tedious...a bit of housework and early deadheading in the garden followed by an afternoon of reading. I don't fancy going for a drive and walkabout anywhere in this heat. I have been thinking myself cool, looking at Arctic holidays and studying a tome of photos of Scott's Antarctic expedition, chilling indeed....

Today, I have been for my early walk and am ready to tackle the ironing when I've had a second breakfast! After that, who knows? There's always something to do.

Happy Birthdays to you both GrannyGravy and Gingster, wishing you both an enjoyable day.
Marydoll, lovely green garden!

Jaxjacky Wed 22-Jul-26 08:38:07

Morning from sun in S Hants, another ghost of a garden here, little is surviving.
Happy Birthday GG13 and Gingster 🥂🎂 have a lovely day.
How thoughtful of the cyclists gagagran.
New dentist today, doubt it will be a cheery appointment, my teeth are lousy.
Enjoy sleepovers, visitors and trips out.

Grammaretto Wed 22-Jul-26 08:47:58

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders where the sun's up!

Back not right but possibly less painful and more manageable.

It's the Frenchies last day. I'm driving them to the foot of the Pentland hills and leaving them there. They want to climb.

We had a lovely lunch in the garden yesterday with my DBiL and DSiL , she who was recently widowed. It was so nice to be with them again.

I have yarn group this morning and community lunch. This evening we have been invited out to a friend's.

Happy birthday Gingster and GrannyGravy. Enjoy your special day.

Such a pretty haven of a garden Marydoll

I hope it cools down soon Bella

Keep cool and hydrated everyone.

HelterSkelter1 Wed 22-Jul-26 08:53:40

If I put a pic of my garden you would think you were seeing the opening scene of Lawrence of Arabia.

Melanie61 Wed 22-Jul-26 09:04:46

grannygravy and gingster A very happy birthday to you both🎂x
