Good Morning Sunday 12th July 2026

FGT it would never have occurred to me! I must be naive. Taichinan that is a lovely painting

FriedGreenTomatoes2

I’m down enjoying my cafe con leche
Noticed the guy at the next table must be one of the local bad boys as first of all I clocked his designer top and matching shorts very Chanel - it was only then that I spotted his ankle ‘jewellery’

Took me a moment to realise what it actually was! I took a surreptitious photo of his feet … 😮

I lead a very sheltered life obviously.

Oh.
I thought it was a Fitbit.
🤦‍♀️

UTBB. A very happy birthday indeed. You inspire me, independent, out and about. You also write beautifully. Have 🎂🥂 from me.

Good morning, it’s pleasantly cool here in south Glos with the windows wide open. The sky is lightening, I’ve been watching it for the last two hours or so.
Yesterday was another day of doing little, today I want to make some flapjacks and clean the fridge out.
I will get up shortly and water all my pots, it’s too hot to do them in the evening.
I had a letter and a text yesterday for a phone consultation with the BRI Thoracic team Tuesday, I was waiting for a pre-op appointment. I can’t imagine they’ll do a pre-op by phone will they? Perhaps it’s just to tell me when my pre-op is? Who knows.
Laying here I realise i do need to tidy my bedroom up, I’ve been lazy recently so that’s something else to do this morning.
Have a lovely day x
🌹

Cleaning the fridge & its shelves and that kept us busy this morning. However, it is definitely a necessary task.

Have a lovely Sunday.

A late greeting , I struggled up to Mass this morning , I was early to light candles , we use real candles and cash , but the candelabra was full , so I left unlit candles for the overworked Sacristen to cope with ,
Back in my seat I found my money still in my hand , I hope I remember to pay my debt next time
It’s too hot for me , I’m blaming my forgetfulness on the heat
I hope everyone is coping and straying out of the sun !!

Probably nipped out from his curfew FGT

I thought exactly the same ladies! 🤣

Lovely painting, taichinan.
fgt, I think I’d be the same. As mentioned before, nice legs though…

Oh, and thank you FGT. I tend to do things in long 'bouts'. My painting bout finished when my tai chi bout took over nearly 20 years ago.

FGT - as you do!! Nice legs though 😉😂

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. I'm in my willow arbour, drinking coffee and listening to the birds. It's sunny but not too hot. A moment to savour.

However, already today I have killed my only tomato plant while attempting to repot it and the French HelpX has managed to snap off the handle of my lovely lightweight lawnmower thus rendering it useless.
There's such a thing as being too strong!

I'm off to view a house in Edinburgh. My DS is meeting me there. The closing date is Tuesday.
My back is still hurting. You and me both Madeleine

I took my cousin to a local restaurant last night as it's just across the road and I've not been there in 40 years. Now I know why.

Happy birthday UTBB I hope you enjoy the day.

Gingster

Marydoll I know you aren't well but you can still make me laugh! Terrifying the poor priest. 😂

May the best team win! My French Helpers are obviously backing France but he is more interested in the Tour de France which next year will begin in England and go through the Scottish Borders, I'm told.

They've got the mower working again so perhaps they've fixed it.

Keep cool and hydrated

Gosh Taichinsn you have a real talent there!

grandmattie I love the tropaeolum too, particularly growing up the darkest of the evergreens. Each year it comes up in a different place - just wherever it feels like it. One year it found its way over the wall into the walled garden and covered the rhododendron I had planted into an old water tank. I've put in a painting Icdidcof it at the time.

FGT2 😹😹😹

Good morning from Sunnyside northwest coast. I enjoyed the football yesterday, although I only watch a match once every blue moon. I find it alternatively boring and exciting in parts
I’d like to watch Wednesday’s game, but I have an opera co meeting..

My DD arrives from the south later and I’m looking forward to that. I’ll set the dining room table now I’ve moved some art materials to the spare room.
I have a swollen gum where a broken tooth was extracted a while ago. Will gargle with salt water and hope it goes…

Congratulations utbb and thoughts to Gingster🌺

Morning

Overslept today and woke to a much cooler day.

Still some sunshine but not that awful muggy day - 🥳🥳🥳🥳

Good morning from another hot Black Country. Didn't do a lot yesterday, but read my book.

We ate outside in the garden where by 8.00pm there was a lovely cooling breeze. Didn't get to bed till well after 1.00pm as watching the match! Saved by the Bell

Off for a family meal for DS's girls birthdays. One was 17 a couple of days ago, eldest 22 Monday.

Happy birthday Uttb hope you have a lovely day whatever you do.

Wishing you all the best day possible

gingster 💐

Oh! 😱
Crossed posts uttb! As you say, another time. 🤞

Many happy returns of the day to you uttb have a lovely day with your family in your own ‘happy place’ filled with fond memories.

Yes the end of an era Gingster I can well understand your tears. x

I am not now going to Llandudno, my GD has come down looking dreadful.
She suffers badly from hay fever and I can’t let her have a bad day just for me.
We will go some other time.
My friend across the road wanted to visit so I will arrange that and we may go out for a meal tonight if L improves.

taichinan, love your tropeoleum. I tried growing some in Sandwich but managed to kill them…. It might be because it’s so very dry in the SE.
Goldfish never lasted long in our pond due to herons. There was a large heronry not far away.

Gingster yes the end of an era but so many happy memories to look back on ❤️

Powercut here - Powergrid aware and say until 10.30. Luckily I’ve matches to light the gas hob.
