‘Binface’ never heard of it. What is it?

Count Binface will be fighting Farage in the Clacton by-election. He is an Oxford graduate and is quite cleverly trying to undermine Farage.

Cossy Fri 10-Jul-26 13:23:23

I’d say, win or lose, Count Binface has already won the hearts of the people.

There’s a good few candidates now crawled out of the woodwork.

I am following this with great glee, I’m not quite sure this is what Farage envisaged 🤣

vegansrock Fri 10-Jul-26 13:32:59

I’m not sure if this is a genuine photo ( you never can tell these days) but it supposed to be of Clacton Binface supporters flying their bin flags.

vegansrock Fri 10-Jul-26 13:36:16

Generally thinking is that Farages advisor ( i.e himself) did not predict that the main parties would refuse to join in his fake by-election so its come to bite him in the bum.

Luckygirl3 Fri 10-Jul-26 13:38:32

shock .....the thought of biting Farage on the bum has quite put me off my lunch! ...grin

rubysong Fri 10-Jul-26 13:40:43

I would appeal to the other minor parties, Monster Raving Loonies etc. to all stand back and let Count Binface stand alone against Farage. Please don't split the vote. Please pass this to any of them you know.

rubysong Fri 10-Jul-26 13:47:31

Rachel Reeves could have stopped this by refusing to let him resign until his affairs had been investigated. Good luck to Count Binface. Come on voters of Clacton, do the right thing! (That's right as in correct.)

vegansrock Fri 10-Jul-26 13:56:18

It would have played into his poor me I am being harassed and picked on if his resignation had been denied.

AGAA4 Fri 10-Jul-26 14:01:31

Count Binface is getting a lot of attention. Hope he's making Farage a tad uncomfortable.

yes that's right but she said if he wants to spend the summer arguing with a bin then let him get on with it.

I hope the bin wins, he'll do a great job and possibly even turn up to parliament

I think Binface is truly against the establishment whereas Farage is part of it.

Yes she could, but can you imagine outcry from Reform and Farage’s devoted disciples? It would be playing right into Farage’s hands.

This way, Farage is being given exactly what he’s requested.

I say, bring it on!

Just so.

Stating the obvious.

How ravage whoops Farage would have moaned…

All very very silly - and about a very important and serious scenario.

The other parties not even putting up a contender for Clacton shows their indifference/distain for the town and its people.

I hope that the people of Clacton go to the Polling Stations in their droves and re-elects NF. Judging by the onscreen interviews I've seen, they appear to have the intelligence and wisdom to do so.

Jonathan Harvey, alias Binface, was at one time a script writer for Have I got News For You which was once satirical but is now very laboured.(pun not intentional but fits.)

There was me thinking it was all spontaneous.

Fallingstar Fri 10-Jul-26 14:44:34

Well count Binface will feel at home in parliament if he becomes an MP, is plenty of rubbish to get rid of in there 😜

"Won the hearts". Whose hearts?
Not mine or any of the intelligent people I know.

Politics should be taken seriously not hijacked by some idiot. This is our Country's future we're gambling with.

Hopefully, the good people of Clacton will go out and vote for NF in their droves. It's obvious that none of the other parties have any interest in the town and its people and I'm sure that Bin doesnt either.

Chocolatelovinggran Fri 10-Jul-26 14:47:52

Barbadosbelle, Mr Farage is the Member of Parliament for this constituency, chosen by the electorate.
By elections are contested when the incumbent is either unable, or unwilling, to continue in this role.
Mr Farage is standing, therefore he is able, and willing, to remain the representative for these people.
There is no requirement, nor, I believe any precedent for anyone else to stand against an elected MP in post.

NF isn’t interested either. The constituents of Clacton have never seen him, he hasn’t held any surgeries and spent more time in the US sucking up to Trump than attending to his responsibilities here.
Nobody is taking this lightly but political satire is a much needed vent at times like this and has a history dating back centuries.

.... or just shows the contempt and disinterest they have for the good people of Clacton

Jaxjacky Fri 10-Jul-26 15:06:25

Barbadosbelle perhaps you could explain why Mr Farage resigned, then promptly stood again as a candidate in the same constituency?
Because those actions have not taken politics seriously in my mind.

Totally agree.
Farage is just trying to dodge an inquiry into his dodgy donors.
The man has no consideration for his constituents he only cares about saving his own skin.

I’m sorry to disagree so vehemently, but the other parties not fielding candidates is due to Farage’s complete disdain for Clacton, both when he still was their MP, and now he’s resigned, only to stand again, and our UK political system.

He is an utter disgrace to Parliament, his own party and has shown utter contempt for the people of Clacton. This is a stunt and a totally unnecessary by-election and yet you’re asking people to take it seriously!

To use his role as a UK MP and GB News and his other media outlets to further his own ambitions and ego is unforgivable.

I truly hope he loses his seat and goes away, far far away!

Im not sure how you arrive at that conclusion.

As I see it, it can certainly be argued that it shows their contempt for Farage, yes, but Farage is the one who has manufactured this situation for his own benefit, and he is the one who, in bringing about this totally unnecessary by-election, is blatently intending to use the people of Clacton for his own benefit.

Several extremely good explanations have already been given above about why the main parties are not engaging in this and not one of them seems to have anything to do with contempt for the people of Clacton.
