Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s a lovely sunny start to the day.
Hoping all goes well later rosesandlilac
Enjoy the celebrations today GG the time flies so quickly doesn’t it¡
I’ve no plans for today but have lots of things to be getting on with. I think I’ll sit in the shade in the garden for a while too.
Redcar thinking of you today
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Today I aim to get the bus to Bicester but go in earlier shop and maybe chat to people I know.

Health OK,
Take Care,
Mick
Good morning all from Glasgow, where it is 13°C.
Yesterday morning I had on a raincoat, by afternoon I was in a t-shirt.
*R&L, best wishes for today. ♥️
Grammaretto, I hope you are getting some relief from your back pain.
GM, praying your glasses turn up. 🤞
I completed my engage consult yesterday and by 8.15am had an appointment for 10am, with the senior partner. I was so relieved, for I felt dreadful.
I couldn't believe it, when I received the text with the appointment.
The receptionists burst out laughing, when they saw us. We were also there on Monday!! 🤣
It seems I have a chest infection and an asthma flare up, no wonder I felt so unwell. It turned out, I was also running a temperature, I put feeling hot down to the weather!🤣
The GP was concerned about my critically low immunity and the fact that my RA appointment is not for another two weeks.
Unfortunately, it was too risky to prescribe steroids, so I have my fingers crossed that the antibiotics and mandatory anti nausea medication will be enough to nail it.
I had to advise the GP of the best ones to prescribe; I am allergic to so many and others contraindicate with my heart medication.
Thank goodness I still have most of my marbles, DH would be of no help.
Normally, if I have already taken my prophylactic antibiotics, I must wait until the following day, before taking the new ones.
However, the GP advised me to take the new ones immediately, therefore I had a double whammy --and of course later had the usual side effects of nausea and upset
Another hot day here, I shall be having a gentle day, I have no choice. I am so fatigued.
The GP (who was the one, who referred DH to cardiology last week), thought that in addition to my immunosuppression, the situation with DH hasn't helped my health.
I could have told him that.
Yesterday, DH had to repot a massive hosta into a half barrel. I left him to it, until I saw my pots sitting on the lawn. He had decided to move them, because he thought they didn't look right, where they were.
After much footering about, he decided it was too hot to work and abandoned them on the grass.🙈
I was fit to be tied, because I have been slowly getting that part of the garden the way I wanted.
The last straw, was when he moved my huge lavendar plant to beside the bin, because there was a space to fill and it was straggly anyway. 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬Yesterday was one of his erratic days.😪
Wishing you all the best day possible.
Good morning. This is getting tedious now ☀️🥵.
I long for some rain and cool refreshing air.
Thank goodness we’ve had the tennis to watch in our darkened cave.
Today DIL will take me shopping to our out of town Sainsbury, where no one goes 🤷🏻♀️. I already shopped at M and S yesterday but still need quite a bit. I run out of things now I don’t drive . 😤.
We have man coming to give us a quote for a new conservatory roof. Another one tomorrow. I hope they can fit one asap, as it’s unbearably hot out there.
I’ve heard from the estate agents that we should get a notification from solicitor with exchange and completion dates for out cottage. It’s been very long and drawn out. Goodness knows why, as our buyers have nowhere to sell and we have nowhere to buy. Just the two of us, in the ‘chain’. Hasn’t bothered us as weve still been able to go there. As my neighbour said ‘The Long Goodbye’. 😢.
DS1 and I are going for the day on Saturday to bring ‘stuff’ home and get the house clearance lady round.,
latedecember1963 what a lucky little boy to be living with you. ❤️.
Rosesandlilac all the very best for today. We’re all with you. 🤞.
Take care 🥀
Good morning everyone from another very bright and sunny 🌞 Northampton day, and a hot day ahead. Have had enough of it! Much as I love the sunshine this is too much! It is too hot outdoors and too hot indoors... How did I manage living in the tropics for three spells of two or more years? (We had air conditioning....)
Very little planned for today again; I must finish vacuuming the stairs - got half done yesterday and then the Shark kept cutting out, which is usually a sign that the filters need cleaning. So had to dismantle the machine and give the filters a good wash, then put them in the airing cupboard to dry. Fingers crossed I can finish the job this morning.... and after that will make another iced coffee.
Just sat and read again yesterday afternoon; I am really enjoying my book, The Pretender, by Jo Harkin, the story of Lambert Simnel, a pretender to the throne of Henry VII. It is highly amusing, and of course a work of complete fiction, based on fact!
A Waitrose delivery should break the afternoon up nicely; I have ordered some cold roast chicken for dinner tonight, so will cook some nice Jerseys to go with it.
Hope your appointment goes well today, Roses.
Wishing all a pleasant day.
Feelingmyage, so lovely to see you posting. 💕
Good morning from Anstruther where another pleasant day is expected.
Family spent the day at Falkland Palace but I stayed at the house, I wasn't feeling up to travelling.
Both GDs walked to the harbour front and bought fish and chips for dinner, they were delicious and saved having to cook after a long day.
Last night GDs played board games, so nice to see 20 and 16 year olds not permanently attached to their phones.
GD1's boyfriend has decided not to join us, earlier in the year he had a serious fracture of his arm needing surgery. He now needs to catch up with course work before commencing his final year at university.
DIL is having to liaise with admissions team for GD2'S new school, lots of form filling online. Place at the school will only be confirmed if she gets a minimum of grade 7 for her chosen A level subjects. Not the most relaxing of holidays but needs must.
Last night I put my back out, haven't a clue how, DIL heated a wheat bag and I took painkillers. Was in bed by 9.45 and didn't expect to sleep but I did, feels a little better this morning.
Sincere condolences Gagagran 💐
Beautiful, but already hot, sunshine here in our part of Essex.
Will be drinking lots of water, watching tennis, not much else! Maybe an ice lolly or two.
Stay safe
Oh harrigran putting your back out while on holiday really must be the top hat on your woes. That said, not being alone and being looked after by your family is probably such a comfort hence you slept well. x
Good morning from the east coast. It’s just glorious I love it. I’m sitting out surrounded by birds it’s so good for the soul.
I’m going to the gym again this morning as it will soon be too warm to do a long walk so better to be in the air con.
I’m picking up DGS from school again we were in and out of the sprinkler again. I really hope there isn’t a hosepipe ban in our area this summer.
Tonight we are going out for a meal with our best friends. It’s 11 weeks since our friend lost her DH and she’s doing so well. Just like FGT she spends so much time with her family and friends and has started back at work. She gets overwhelmed with grief obviously but she tries to be so positive I’m proud of her. She’s staying over at ours tonight so she doesn’t have to drive home. We usually have meaningful chats over our sausage sandwiches the next morning. ♥️
Wishing you all a lovely day staying cool if possible.
Thoughts to virtual friends suffering stress, worries and illness🌼
A rather later Good Morning from Cornwall. Sunshine again, we really have the perfect weather. It is hot but not sticky.
We had a very quiet day yesterday. We visited the lake for coffee but it was so pleasant we stayed for a couple of hours. The afternoon was spent reading and relaxing around’camp’.
Good luck today R&L.
We are going to Cadgwith today, one of our favourite villages. The walk down from the car park is lovely and after some lunch we shall sit up on the headland and watch the world go by.
A good day wished for all.
Good morning from a sunny W Kent. Off to see if my art group is running today surely the lady who usually opens up doesn’t want to venture out, we shall see. Otherwise tennis 🎾 and that is enough
R&L all the best
gM hope the glasses reappear
Best wishes
Morning from a warm, soon to be hot, S Hants. I’ve been up for a while, started the day with a tepid shower drying off with the fan’s help, I could sit there all day! Another quiet one, a quick vacuum downstairs, freezer dive for dinner and a couple of phone calls then tennis.
The buddlea looks ill outside and my potted bay tree too.
Fingers crossed this afternoon R&L.
Redcar and Gagagran 💐

Good morning from another hot Black Country, by yesterday afternoon I didn't know what to do with myself.
Trip to Mums in the morning with her Hearing Aids re-tubed.
Should be on a walk this morning, but it is far too hot, so giving it a miss.
DGD3 is 17 today! Her parents gave her a 2015 Fiat 100, I hope she realises how lucky she is. DS Whatsapped a video clip of her being taken outside to see her present with a big bow tied on the windscreen. She starts Driving lessons next week.
MrJ is already at his Hospital appointment which was for 7.45am. This is a follow up for the removal of the squamous cell carcinoma on his head. Today he has to have some special cream put on, then sit outside for 2 hours without a hat! Then to stay indoors for 2 days. Which sounds weird the having to sit outside when he has been careful to always wear a hat. Obviously there is a very good reason.
Not sure what to do today, as I have a pile of ironing, but cannot be bothered in this heat!
Keep cool everyone
Oh WhiteSwan you sound exactly the type of friend us newly bereaved crave. Well done you for not only being there but for recognising your friend’s need for a safe space to talk through her emotions over sausage butties in the morning.
Thank you for your kind words to include me in my own widowhood and I’m delighted to hear how well your friend is coping 11 weeks in.
On a cheerier note, I’m enjoying a handful of these delicious Spanish seedless grapes with my Greek yogurt right now on my little balcony. They are massive aren’t they? And the good thing is, locally produced.
As you can tell, breakfast isn’t a rushed job here in mi casa!
A complete empty awaits so the tennis will get my uninterrupted attention as long as I don’t fall asleep - entirely possible because, like so many, I am sleeping badly. Good thing I don’t have anything demanding intelligent input!
Thinking of Roses, Mdoll and all those unwell and/or anxious. Only about another week of this excessive heat!
Good morning from Stockport.
After a very disturbed night I didn’t wake up until 9.
I am going to a local garden centre for lunch with a friend, I don’t think much time will be spent in the outdoor area today.
My GD was in a mood last night, not like her really although like us all she can have her moments.
She has very bad hay fever and this is her worst time for years.
Medication does little when it is as severe as this.
Also their house buying is dragging on, like Gingster no chain at either end, the latest hiccup
is something that needs clarification from Land Registry, I just hope it is not a major thing.
It is to be hotter tomorrow’s and then a drop of just a few degrees for the seeable.
Keep hydrated and cool everyone.
Good morning Mick and all from a brightening northwest coast.
Enjoyable day yesterday taking the bus into town for the usual lunchtime recital (last for the season) instead of the car. After that I had scampi and salad in a regular haunt, moving outside as the ac was too cold.
I’m into the city tonight to a symphony concert with old friend who booked the tickets ages ago and I am rethinking my parking at the nearest station as we have a big golf tournament coming up and there are restrictions. I’ll park at the next station along.
Thoughts to R&L and Nannyjan DH for their appointments today🌺
Good morning all. I’m awake very late as I had a bad night. I’ve got really bad neck pain but no idea why.
Yesterday, we unexpectedly had the kids again because DD2 had clean forgotten the other GPs are on holiday. GD3 wrote out all her times tables for whatever reason. GS2 wanted to do “fonics” as he put it. Which meant that I only half watched the 4th round match at Wimbledon with Arthur Fery playing and again yesterday with the QFs when he was playing, and what a brilliant win it was for him.
Very best wishes for you appt today R&L🌺
Loved the castle constructed from hay bales Ash.
As I haven’t been on for a couple of days I wanted to give you my condolences on the loss of your brother Gagagran.
Keep cool everyone.
Thankyou FGT ❤️ she’s so important to me and reminds me so much of you navigating a new normal without your lovely DH. 💐
A very late good morning or rather morning to Micheal and all GN's Just going to read more posts in a bit. Have had a couple of days in bed not too good. In the beginning just thought it was the heat but then think I had a temperature as well. But of course vicious circle , staying in bed doesnt help my back. Ah well I am slowly creaking around, got the washing in and all the curtains closed. Too hot to think of going out anyway. Hope you all have a good day and that I will be a bit better tomorrow Take care and keep cool if you can
Get well soon Madeleine
A nice coolish morning, it’s overcast and bearable here in Co Armagh
Managed to walk up to Mass , and lit candles for Roses and for MD
Got a bit of housework done , but I see the sun trying to break through, so I’ll have a quit afternoon
Have the best day you can
Hope you feel better soon Madeleine
Good morning from sunny Musselburgh where I'm having an implant at the dental surgery. I've had to sign disclaimers which makes me nervous.
I'm waiting for the anaesthetic to work!
My back is still awful . Thanks for asking MD Sorry that you are unwell.
I hope R&L is doing well and is seen soon.
Wishing you the very best with your implant. I’ve had 2 with no issues in 2009. I hope your back improves asap.
