I’m not a football fan but……

I confess I didn’t stay up to watch the game, I was thrilled though to check the score when I woke in the early hours for a loo trip.

I think this tournament is a great distraction from the woes of the world.

I am actually excited for England V Norway on Saturday.

I love watching Erling Haalands antics and the Norwegian fans doing the Viking row!
It will be an incredible atmosphere.

They had better be prepared in Miami for the alcohol consumption in Miami.
Our son lived in Oslo for a few years, he’s a rugby player who can down a good few pints but he said the Norwegians were animals when it came to alcohol!

Sorry infoman but it will be standing room only in Wetherspoons!

I really hope we win but if not I won’t feel too bad losing to Norway.

Bring it on πŸ‡³πŸ‡΄πŸ‡³πŸ‡΄πŸ‡³πŸ‡΄πŸ‡³πŸ‡΄πŸ‡³πŸ‡΄πŸ‡³πŸ‡΄πŸ‡³πŸ‡΄πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§!

Well, Trump and Infantina have caused all that trouble, manipulating the rules, and they have nothing to show for it.

Little Belgium flattened the US but it won't be Trump's responsibility, of course.

The smarmy Infantina will be the one with egg on his face. All that bending over backwards to curry favour with Mr Trump will surely teach him and FIFA a lesson?

Maybe FIFA should ask for their tin-pot "Peace Prize" back......

There is a separate thread on this.

I'm glad we are winning, but watch the match, any match? I would rather stick pins in my eyes.

This

I find it very difficult to get excited about 22 men kicking a ball around. The same goes for most other sports.

I am just not a watcher. I rarely watch tv. I will always be doing something else, getting up and walking around and as for watching people I do not know running around an area of land to a pattern I do not know either, with or without equipment. I would rather read a book.

It's not just "kicking a ball around" though, is it? The skill of it is clearly wasted on some people. I'm not a 'fan' of any team. I'm not a 'fan' of any tennis player. I'm useless at sports myself, though I swam and hill-walked and cycled and Scottich danced most of my life.

But I appreciate skill and dedication.

The excessive silliness of the idea of sticking pins into one's eyes and other show-offy nonsense like that is really quite extraordinary.
