When I was in 6th Form we had a horrible PE teacher who took us for PE on a Friday afternoon. As I had a heavy A level load, I made the excuse that I had to go to our main town library to study and research. This was cleared. Really, my boyfriend with a car was waiting for me at the bottom of the hill and we would drive to a nice coastal location for an ice cream and walk as Friday was his day off. Never got caught.

A group of us went on a school trip to some sort of exhibition. There was a double glazing company there with advertising cards which you filled in if you wanted a visit from a representative from the company.
My friends and I took lots of cards and filled them in with addresses of parents of our friends. Subsequently these people were all contacted by the company. One set of parents actually went on to buy double glazing!

My best friend and I regularly climbed over a fence and bunked off school at lunchtime. Most days we walked past a lorry loaded with crates of fizzy pop and one day saw the driver going into a house for his lunch. Despite being in school uniform we decided to pilfer a bottle of Coca-Cola each and rushed off to the park to drink them. Did the same thing three days running, but on the last day we got the shock of our lives. We both took a huge swig of Cocoa-Cola only to discover it was vinegar! I still have immense admiration for that lorry driver who rather than reporting us to the school actually taught us a life long lesson about honesty - and probably had a really good laugh at the same time.

Did you pass your A Levels?

Thank you. Yes, I did. Boyfriend got dumped the spring before so I could focus on getting the grades I wanted for uni.

I could write a book about my teenage escapades. Our school was a strict grammar school. We were allowed into town at lunchtime if we brought a note. A girl in the year below tagged on to my friend and I so we took her too. We were reported for eating chips in the street and not wearing our berets. Turned out her Father was a school governor.

Loads of escapades with boys in school, being hit on by a young, lesbian PE teacher which was embarrassing, bunking off to meet a boyfriend from Art College whose parents lived nearby.

I would tell my mum and dad I was staying over with a friend and that friend would tell her parents she was staying at mine, then we would go on the bus to Blackpool where my friends boyfriend who was quite a bit older would take us out on the town then we would sleep in his mates caravan.

We didn't get up to too much at school, just a being a bit elastic with the truth sometimes. When I was at art school we once had a really good fall of snow and decided that tobogganing on Richmond Hill would be a good idea. A couple of the boys found a piece of corrugated iron and we smuggled it onto the top floor of the bus to Richmond. We had a lovely day playing around in the snow and then went back to get ready for our evening classes. On our way in we met one of the lecturers "Wasn't I supposed to have you for a class today?" We smiled sweetly and told him we'd been tobogganing. He had a nervous breakdown the following year but it was honestly nothing to do with us.

I was a rebel teenager and got into all sorts of trouble

So glad there wasn’t social media back then. I dread to think what would have been posted on there!

Another rebel here although looking back and what I got up to was very mild by today's standards.
I have a 14 year old GD who is challenging to say the least. My DS and DIL often say they don't know where she gets it from. I keep very quiet grin

There are things that to this day I have never confessed - god knows how I wasn’t discovered or expelled.
I did always wonder tho how my parents took us at our words when we went “revise” on the beach.

Me and my friend were 15 we told each others parents we were at each others houses ( no house phones for them to check). When really we got on a Premier coach at 8am and went to Hastings for the day we live in Hertfordshire we spent the day in the arcades and on the beach. It was late 60s we were mods and of course we met some lads who had scooters who took us up and down the coast rd….then we got coach back at 8pm at night. We never got caught. Had the time of our lives, fun care free.

And your point is?

I was painfully shy and a real goody two shoes, so no dodgy escapades for me.
