Good Morning Everyone,
Its light but with a grey looking sky over Brackley this morning.
Usual bus to Bicester to shop and maybe say hello to those I know.
Will watch Tour De France team presentation on TV later .
Health OK,
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning everyone from Anglesey.
Glad you had a lovely birthday, Bellasnana. My dad died young and I sometimes think of all the family things he's missed, so I understand your sentiment about your sister. 💐

My friend who lives in Derbyshire went on an organised trip to The Newt in Somerset yesterday. The photos she put on our WhatsApp group were just stunning. She said it was a long day but well worth the effort. I'm expect those of you nearby would agree.

What a marathon journey for you, Marzipan. I often say to DH " We could be in Mallorca in less time than this," when we have convoluted UK journeys.

We had a bit of a storm last night, but more wind than rain. It seems calm now.

This morning the little chap and I are meeting a friend at The Dingle in Llangefni. We'll go for a walk, weather permitting, and hopefully see a red squirrel or two.
The plan afterwards is to have lunch at Oriel Mon.

Wishing you all the best day possible. Take care. 🌻

Good morning Micheal and all GN's on a sunny but breezy morning in North Yorkshire. I am creaking around this morning and needed to get the bedding into the washer before coming on here, as I am going out to a meeting and want to get the washing on the line before I go, My version of a watched kettle never boils is a watched washing machine never stops if you are waiting for it.

I am not starting well as had got that sorted and came to read the posts and started my missive when the flipping lot disappeared. Most annoying, anyway back again fingers crossed.

Went out to the market on the yellow peril yesterday, but not a very successful shop and no inspiration of ideas for meals, but anyway got some things and back home very hot and weary and had to lie flat for some time to ease my back.

Decided to risk going to the whist drive last night. Havent been for a while, as even with staying at one table, it has been a struggle with my back. I was welcomed back and people were wondering if I had been away cruising - no such luck- and I hadnt answered their messages to me. I did not understand that, but a while back someone had put me on whatsapp. Not being very well I hadnt done anything with it and had forgotten really that I was on it, and hadnt looked there. Someone showed me and so now I need to at least check on it, when I have worked out how to deal with it.

It was quite busy and I had taken a very cold bottle of water with me that helped. A mixed lot of hands seesawing from the heights of 12 tricks to a lowly 3. The last few hands were a struggle and in quite a bit of pain but glad I went.

I am admiring all your efforts, and how you are still doing so much in this weather, especially baking. Hope that you all have a good day, with a few showers to cool things down - but when you are indoors - and your plans all work out.

Good morning all from Glasgow, where it is 13°C.

Delighted you are back, Bella I love your card, I gave my friend one, the other day, which was a garden, full of pop up flowers, DH's was of a golfer, on a golf course, they are such fun cards.

I spent yesterday in bed, with a horrendous diverticulitis flare up ( probably triggered by worrying about DH.) I still don't feel good this morning, such a pity, as we were going for a run down to Prestwick.😪
It is a

favourite place of mine, because it is flat, with no hills to struggle up and of course the independant shops.😉

DH still does not think he has done anything wrong. You would have thought that two days (and one night) spent in the loo, would have led to a revelation of his own stupidity.
The only positive to come out of this, is we have both lost three pounds! 😉

Delighted to hear that your daughter's Blue Badge has arrived, Georgegran. Mine is due up on Tuesday and despite it being approved and paid for in April, it wasn't ordered! 🤬🤬🤬

Wishing everyone a pleasant day, especially the mountaineers.
I think I may stay in bed!

Good Morning everyone from a dull and cloudy central south coast. Sun is promised for later and warmth rising again.

I can imagine you on the Wirral, Marzipan as I lived there from age 8 to 16 and went to High School in Wallasey until after GCEs. Very happy times and I was reluctant to leave but had no choice due to Dad's job relocation. One of life's crossroads for me as I would not have met DH had I not left, nor had the family we share. Enjoy your stay and time with your DD and I hope your SiL is soon on the mend.

I feel a bit less shaken up today and may take up DH's suggestion of lunch out somewhere we like and haven't been to for some time. I do have hermit tendencies and have to make an effort before I turn into one full time.

Had some lovely photos of DGD3's graduation at Durham Cathedral yesterday. It was only later that I realised we could have watched the ceremony live. I suppose her appearance would have been very fleeting as there seemed to be hundreds lining up to receive their degrees.

I went for my blood test at 1.23pm yesterday and still find the precise timing baffling especially as the surgery was like the Marie Celeste. Where are all the patients? Why is it so hard to get an appointment? I was in and out of my blood test in 5 minutes and yet I had waited over 4 weeks for the appointment! I think the GP services seem to be in free fall and need rapid overhaul. It is a worry.

A belated Happy Birthday Bellas and thank you for sharing your lovely cards. Hope your little treasure soon feels much better. He will do in your arms!

Kindest regards to all who have troubles, struggles or worries of any sort. May today bring some ease.

Good morning from Wiltshire where we have light cloud atm. I’m not looking forward to high temperatures again.

Yesterday, we did some shopping in M&S and Sainsbury’s as it’s not our week for Ocado. Most unusually, DH decided to watch the football. It was quite nerve racking. I may squeeze in some tennis time today as I didn’t see any yesterday. DH then watered the garden and our neighbours one who are away.

I’m glad you enjoyed your 70th birthday yesterday Bellasnana. The peony card is amazing.

I too have been to Kirkenes Marzipan on a Hurtigruten cruise 10 years ago. I remember the pristine snow and the purity of the air. It felt like being on top of the world.

Best wishes for your hospital visit today RosesandLilac.

Beef massaman curry for dinner tonight. Wishing everyone a good day.

Good morning from a windy and warm Suffolk where we’ve only just woken up and DH has just brought me a cup of tea. I’ll read your posts later as I have to get myself ready for my stretch class which I didn’t go to last week because of the heat. I’m looking forward to the exercise as I’ve been feeling stiff after last week’s inactivity.

A pedicure this afternoon and a little shopping completes my plans for the day . I hope all have a good day especially those who are unwell or facing medical appointments.

Jaxjacky Thu 02-Jul-26 08:16:22

Morning from an overcast S Hants, sun due later, I left a cushion outside last night and it’s damp, must have had some light rain. The garden and greenhouse had been watered earlier.
Beautiful flowers and cards Bellas.
My good wishes for later R&L.
I’ll be finalising our grocery delivery list later after phoning my friend, exercises to do, online banking and a trip to the village for fruit and milk.

Yes, that's right glammagran, it does feel like that! I remember plodding through snow to get to the plane. Wonderful.

HelterSkelter1 Thu 02-Jul-26 08:20:31

Gagagran our surgery waiting room is almost always empty, but I am sure many more appts are on the phone. DH had an excellent 10 + minute phone call from the GP. Covered everything than neede to ge covered. A prescription was sent straight to Boots. I was able tomhave a short chat when DHs voice gives out.
When I think about it many minutes were wasted each day with the patient often taking a while to get up out of the chair and totter from the waiting room to the doctors room. Then the reverse. Goodness knows what you can catch in the waiting room especially in the winter.

So telephone appts suit me fine. But empty waiting rooms do give the appearance of nothing happening.

dragonfly46 Thu 02-Jul-26 08:22:53

Strangely our GP’s surgery is always full!

Ladyleftfieldlover Thu 02-Jul-26 08:31:26

Morning all from West Oxfordshire. The temperature is rising again but we are due some rain too.

We enjoyed lunch out yesterday at our favourite ‘during the week restaurant’. On our return our gardener had already made a start. She gave us some ideas on what to plant where the ceanothus used to be.

Today should be fun. Four of us are going to a local museum for a talk on the history of Afternoon Tea. Afterwards we will have what will hopefully be a sumptuous tea! This has been organised by the WI.

Have a good day everybody, especially those of you going through difficulties.

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Thu 02-Jul-26 08:44:50

Good morning everybody from Málaga where sadly since yesterday afternoon I’ve gone down with the most awful stomach bug 🤢

I cancelled seeing friends last night and ditto friends for a beach afternoon today

I’m exhausted so staying put under the ceiling fan for the whole of today.

Bellasnana I love the peony card!
At first I though they were real how clever!

Grammaretto Thu 02-Jul-26 08:47:03

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. The sun is shining 🌟

But my sciatica (or whatever it is) is no better. It took me half an hour to dress and come downstairs. I have a chiropractor appointment in half an hour - normally a short walk away but if I set out now....😔

I've cancelled yoga and the house viewing . My friend and DD pointed out the reality of dependence on a car so if, like today, I can't drive why would I live in a village without a shop and with one bus and hour. DD thinks I've lost the plot actually 😂

I have a couple arriving today as volunteer Helpers. They are French.
I'm also expecting a chap to collect more books.

Glad you enjoyed your birthday Bella. Nice cards.

Beautiful coat Karma

All the best for the hospital Roses&Lilac

Hope everyone has something nice to look forward to.

dragonfly46 Thu 02-Jul-26 08:51:32

Hope you feel better soon FGT.

grandMattie Thu 02-Jul-26 09:08:26

Poor you, fgt! Loads of isotonic drinks (1tsp sugar, large pinch salt in 1 pt water…) and you’ll be right as rain. 🫂

WhiteSwan63 Thu 02-Jul-26 09:12:40

Good morning from the east coast and it’s really windy. We usually have wind from the sea anyway and our garden is open but it’s strong today and blowing pots of plants over.

Happy belated birthday Bellasnana it’s so good you are back.
Sending you 💐 Rosesandlilac

I’m going out for a walk again today for an hour and DH will pick me up on the way back from the gym so I don’t have to walk the hour home. I did an hour walk yesterday calling at my best friend’s house for a cuppa to break it up.
We have DGS after school. Yesterday he went to visit his new special school with DS and GSs mother. DS said they had to drop him off after looking round and pick him up later and DS said he had a lovely day and the teacher said he was amazing. I really hope he settles well and is happy when he starts in September. I worry so much about him.

Hope you all enjoy your day. Thoughts to those with stress and worries 💐🌼

WhiteSwan63 Thu 02-Jul-26 09:13:20

Feel better soon FGT💐

monk08 Thu 02-Jul-26 10:09:01

Hope you feel better soon FGT💐.

Gingster Thu 02-Jul-26 10:19:01

Good morning . Late to the party.
DS2 is down for the day and it’s lovely to catch up on all the chat. It’s difficult when all the family is here, we don’t get a chance to talk on a one to one .

Cooler at the moment but heat building this afternoon.

Have a lovely day whatever you do. 🌺

Redcar Thu 02-Jul-26 10:23:39

fgt I hope you feel better soon.

Litterpicker Thu 02-Jul-26 10:26:23

Good morning from a brightening West Sussex by the sea. Lots of big clouds but blue sky between. A decent shower or two would be great for the garden and the allotment where DH is probably watering right now. I have my bookclub shortly - we read ‘When the Cranes Fly South’ which is set in a beautiful sounding part of northern Sweden. I would love to see Kirkenes but I’m not keen on boats 🫤

Glad you’re feeling better Gaga. I think the ‘strange’ appointment times are the result of it all being done by computer - delivery times for parcels are the same. The silicon chip brain doesn’t have our mental picture of a clock with the hour marked off in five minutes intervals 🙂

Grammaretto, I hope the chiropractor can help fix your back.
FGT poor you - I hope you feel better soon 🌷
RosesandLilac - I hope your procedure goes ok. Things are progressing for you.
WhiteSwan that’s great that your DGS enjoyed his visit to his new school.

Look at the time! I must get ready to go and discuss our book and catch up on how everyone is!

Have the best possible day in sunshine or rain or indoors if you are poorly 💕

Ladyleftfieldlover Thu 02-Jul-26 10:31:25

Get well soon FGT. 💐

Usedtobeblonde Thu 02-Jul-26 10:41:27

Another late Good morning from a dull and breezy Stockport.
I went to the loo 5ish and it was wet and windy.

I love hearing about Cornwall, my H and I spent our honeymoon there in 1958, how long ago it seems now and we visited many times after that, we loved it.
Our C have fond memories of it too as we took them several
times.

I hope all goes well for you today R&L it is going to be a busy time for you but all worth it.

Special mention for the poorlies, I hope you have better days soon.

Jaxjacky Thu 02-Jul-26 10:54:09

Oh yuk FGT take care, hope you improve quickly x

aggie Thu 02-Jul-26 10:56:15

It’s chilly here in Co Armagh, but heat is forecast
The heat makes me feel ill , for various reasons I had the door closed yesterday and had to go to bed early with a headache, it’s ok today so I’ve been in and out
I have taken the growing tip off the tomatoes , propped up the cucumbers and tidied up , no enjoying my decaf coffee
The sun is trying to come out now
Thinking of Rosesandlilac hor all goes well
Oh Marydoll I hope your oh doesn’t treat the rest of his medicine with such gay abandon !
