Good morning everyone from Inverness where we’ve light grey clouds and feels warm
Hope you’re feeling much better soon GG
This morning I’ve a volunteering session, it’ll be good to see everyone there again and catch up on their news. I’ve nothing else planned for the rest of the day, maybe a coffee out with DH somewhere and then I’ll carry on with the usual housework and gardening.
I’m missing Bellas too, I hope she feels able to return soon, in the meantime a very Happy Birthday!
Good to see madeleine back yesterday
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

(46 Posts)Good Morning Everyone,
Its light but looking a grey sky above Brackley this morning.
Today , I will get the bus into Bicester ,do a shop and have a chat with those i know.
This afternoon a surgery appointment with a nurse bi annual diabetic review.
Health OK,
Take Care,
Mick
Good morning from (atm) sunny Wiltshire.
Our very well insulated house is taking an age to cool down. By the time it does, the next heat wave will be upon us. I’m still using a tower fan in the bedroom which is currently 26°c though I turn it off during the night now.
School pickup yesterday. A rather spat free day I’m glad to say. DD2 is still waiting for an MRI and CTA despite being told her episode last week was probably a TIA.
I must tackle some of the jobs I did not do last week due to the heat. I am no domestic goddess it must be said.
Wishing Bella a very happy 0th this week. I hope she returns very soon.
Marydoll - this really is turning out to be a tumultuous year for you. You’ve lurched from one crisis to another. I sincerely hope your fortunes take a turn for the better quickly. Could you get some paid help?
Wishing you all a good day.
Bella Happy Birthday when it comes
Good morning from damp Leicestershire.
After dog walking I too am going to meet other grans in Market Harborough.
Wishing everyone the best day possible.
Good morning from a for now dull northwest coast.
Another quiet day yesterday as I’m still feeling “cheap” as my MIL used to say. I’m going to phone the surgery soon for an appointment. Coming off my statins all at once has made me feel strange, and looking it up, not advised, although I was advised to do so by a doctor there…
Sad news yesterday, a cousin died suddenly. I come from two large families with many cousins so hadn’t seen much of him, but he was a lovely chap and only in his mid sixties, so no age.
Great to hear from madeleine again and birthday greetings to Bellasnanna. Hope to hear from you soon.
Thoughts to all🌺
Good morning all from Glasgow, where it is 15°C, with showers expected.
Poor you, GG, I was close to breaking open my Rescue Pack yesterday, I too have a flare up.
However, I have been told that steroids are a last resort, due to my immunity being at rock bottom, so I held off. I am hoping the prophylactic antibiotics, I am on for life, will be enough to dampen things down.
I do hope you feel better soon.
I too contacted Bellasnanna last week, for I experienced a similar situation a few years ago. It drove me away for a while, at a time, when I was extremely unwell and vulnerable.
Some people have no conception of the impact of their words on a poster; we are not all robust.
I think the best way, is to actually come back and post, don't let them win.
As expected, yesterday's attempt to get a GP appointment was most problematic.
At 7.30am, I went on engage consult, armed with photos, to get a much needed appointment for DH. He was so embarrassed, by the putrid snell emanating from the lesion.
I logged on and was informed DH's password was wrong. It wasn't.
DH had disappeared contrary to instructions. I fell out with him, because he was loading a golf game, he had got for his birthday and couldn't reset his password.🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬
When I eventually got in at 7.35 am, there were no slots.
I found out later, that both e consult and the phones were down. 😪
After waiting in a queue, where I was customer ( put in a very large number) , I got to speak to someone. To my relief, I recognised the voice and realised that it was the healthcare assistant, who was covering the phones, because engage wasn't working.
She went to find the on call doctor, came back, informing me, he would call.
A short time later, he did call!
My heart leapt with joy, when I heard the voice of my favourite GP. I explained about DH's hearing problems and I would be speaking (with DH's permission.)
After I explained the circumstances, he asked if I could bring DH down straight away.
The GP mentioned something about DH and his urgent cardiology referral, I explained we had no idea, what he was talking about.
DH had apparently not picked up on this at his GP appointment last week. No wonder I am at the end of my tether!!!
The GP's last words were that, in view of DH missing important info, he recommended, that I should go into the appointment with him.
We saw a lovely, young GP, who was impressed by my diagnosis😉 and photography, praised my cleaning of the wound, prescribed antibiotics and gave DH an appointment for next week, with a view to a dermatology referral.I explained I had delusions of being a doctor. She thought that was amusing.
It was a very positive experience, including a laugh with the receptionists, when I appeared, yet again at the desk.
I'm off to Silverburn for some respite. I don't think I will be doing much, my cough is horrendous again and I am wheezing, but I need some me time.
Dollie and her parents are in London on holiday. I asked her to send me a photo of her trip on the London Eye. She sent FIFTY THREE !!!!!!!. 🤣
FGT, I hope you have arrived safely.
Have a good day folks.
Good morning everyone,
and a special good morning to bellasnanna - do come back very soon. I agree with Marydoll - the best way to deal with unkind comments aimed at you is to carry on posting regardless, there are more posters who think well of you than don’t. 💐. Oh, and happy birthday 🎉🎂.
I haven’t seen any of Madelein’s new posts, but hope she is ok and perhaps she will post here on the chat thread soon.
I got quite a bit of gardening done yesterday as it was, at last, pleasant enough to be outside. The ground is so very dry. The plants must be getting very confused by the weather.
It sounds a bit more positive regarding the doctors and your DH Marydoll.
Good Morning from Durham. It’s cloudy with a bit of a breeze. Should dry the last load of DD2’s laundry.
Annual visit from my Financial Advisor later this morning and a hair appointment this afternoon. Must plant up some petunias, deadhead the roses and do some much needed watering.
I’m pleased to hear there’s a bit of progress on the health front for some of our posters today. Hope it continues.
Best wishes to all. X
I am hoping Madeleine will post one of her interesting posts today about her life in Yorkshire.
A late good morning everyone. It is cool and damp, here on the central south coast, with light rain and I am sure I heard the garden breathe a sigh of relief! Everything looks fresher and has perked up. Despite the regular watering it has had, the rain has special properties, obviously!
My ponderings about my choir membership reached a conclusion yesterday and I resigned. I felt relieved that I had reached a pragmatic decision and will donate my huge collection of repertoire music to the choir for re-use.
I am still a member of the local U3A and WI so will have access to social activity if health issues allow.
Had a pleasant surprise yesterday when our new neighbours pruned back a very overgrown shrub/tree (not sure what it is) growing against their side of our fence and shading my trellis growing jasmine and honeysuckle. We had not asked them to do it but it was really good to see them doing so. They are a really kind and helpful young couple and we are lucky that they are proving to be just that.
Hope everyone on foreign travels is enjoying their holiday and that the worried, struggling or unwell GNs feel some ease
and comfort today.
Good morning everyone better late than never. I have read through all the posts and am catching up with the news. My plan to be on here earlier did not work as had a rubbish night with bad back and humidity meaning that I only got off to sleep so late that it was nearly 9am before I woke. So I am just creaking about, with curtains closed and have just heard some thunder, so fingers crossed that it might go for a heavy shower and cool things down.
I am impressed by all your efforts going places and doing things. My way is just doing essentials and then staying in the cool as much as possible. That has its plus and minus. I havent been to any whist or games, but did manage to finally get my hair cut, and down onto the market on the buggy keeping to the shady side where possible. Bit of a vicious circle as my back has been very bad and so with that and the weather havent been able to do much walking about, which of course means my back seizes up worse. Ah well I shall try and get going into a better pattern when the weather lets me.
So will enjoy reading your adventures and outings, as havent any great outings to tell you about. Very sad about the earthquakes in Venezuela and the lack of help getting to them. I was only in one earthquake in Portugal when I lived there. That was why it was only bottled gas there. We were all schooled never to go in to staircase but to stand against an outside wall so that if the building collapsed you had more chance of outer walls falling outwards. There was building work going on close by and suddenly there was a big noise and I first thought a lorry had backed into the flats, but then saw the ripple going up the wall and realized what it was. As I was near the sea we were lucky there was no tsunami.
Well thankyou for your messages and hope you all keep cool and well today
Good morning everybody from Málaga where it’s just bluddy glorious! I had a 2 hour flight delay 😫 so arrived at midnight - no matter really as time is mine to do as I please really.
31°C with a soft gentle breeze it’s lovely.
Tuesday = my LWW up in Arroyo where we laugh, catch up, support one another and sometimes even out the world to rights. Good friends are treasure in life aren’t they? As my late mum used to say “To have a good friend you first have to be one” 🥰
Good morning everyone from Anglesey.
Some lovely photos again. I like the fact that you are part of the artwork in the lift, Marzipan. 🤗
Glad you had a good experience at the surgery, MaryDoll. My MiL was very deaf and I always attended any appointments with her. It alerted the person she was seeing to the fact that they needed to speak carefully and directly to her and also meant she wasn't worrying she would miss hearing something important.
Happy birthday for this week, Bellasnana! 🎂🥂
The end of an era for you, Gagagran, but I'm sure your music collection will be much appreciated by the choir leaders.
This morning I'm going to find the Library in Amlwch. I'm not sure if we'll be able to borrow any books, but we'll be able to look at them while there.
I'm going to enquire about activities such as Rhyme Time and play sessions too.
Wishing everyone the best day possible. 🌻
Good morning from the east coast and it’s so pleasantly warm even with the sea breeze. I am just sitting out with my coffee and have been listening to two Coal tits have a conversation from each side of the garden it was so delightful especially as according to my app they are unlikely to be seen in our area of the north coast today.
Yesterday was delightful with the DGC. My grandson who is non conversational and mostly non verbal said afterschool.
‘Where’s Wally fastastic journey yellow book Martin Handford please’ he tried so hard so speak clearly. I was in tears of joy. I went straight on Amazon to order it for him for Thursday. He asks for very little.
When we looked after the little ladies last night I had my 4 year old GD in fits of giggles reading her story and changing the names in Moana as I struggled to pronounce them so i made up new funny names and again a real joyous moment.
Today I’m spending with Uncle and Mum. Even the hoist they got uncle has failed to get him out of bed I don’t know what more anyone can do for him. It’s heartbreaking especially for mum. I’ll be ready for that glass of wine when I walk through the door tonight.
Wishing a lovely day for everyone with moments of joy but special thoughts to those suffering stress and illness 🌼💐
Good morning, Michael12 and all!

I bought this gorgeous bracelet and necklace yesterday, but found the bracelet easily slips halfway over my hand, so I attached both ends of each and made one long necklace!
See you all later!
Good morning from a deliciously cool Co Armagh,
Nice to be in my own bed last night
I had the best holiday with my eldest daughter visiting my youngest daughter , she is a great hostess ,
Saw my granddaughters, they are such great friends , the middle girl did the eldest girls hair for her leaving ceremony and party , the party girl were her mums vintage dress ! It was vintage when her mum wore it at her leavers dance
Edinburgh was very warm we were in Leith which was invaded by the Haar which cooled us down nicely
I lost my walking stitck at the airport , but middle granddaughter ran to the Chemist and bought me a new one!
My walker got a knock in baggage , now needs new bearings on one wheel , but it is still useable , I’ll get it fixed soon , but today is a day for recharging batteries and drawing breath !
Poor Marydoll I hope the antibiotics clear your OHS infection , and you great some relief
Wishing everyone the best day possible 💐
