Just to say I miss Bellasnanna!
Please come back!
He has done it! The toolmakers son has resigned!
Hundreds of illegal migrants to be put in existing military barracks
Good Morning Everyone,
Its light ,dry and the start of another warm day here in Brackley.
Todays plans hopefully a bus trip into Bicester do a shop and return.
Hope this weather changes to wetter conditions soon.
Health OK,
Take Care,
Mick
Just to say I miss Bellasnanna!
Please come back!
Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. I was awake half the night and was treated to the best lightning display ever
A light show with occasional thunder claps.
Then the rain began and I must have fallen asleep. I lay on the floor as it was the only place I could get comfortable! My back is so sore. I'm seeing the doctor later today and am wondering how to get to the surgery.
So good to hear your better news R&L
Your cruise sounds delightful brook.
Was it Fred Olsen setting off from Rosyth?
Some day...... Sigh!
I showed more viewers around yesterday, including their dog. I didn't think they should leave him in a hot car but did they really need to bring him into my bedroom!
Hoping everyone has something nice to look forward to.
Good morning from Sunnyside northwest coast.
A quiet day yesterday, admin, a face time with arty DGD and music study.
This morning to art group, followed by a food shop.
Glad to hear your news R&L and thoughts to all🌺
Good morning all from the Suffolk coast where we still have a lovely cool breeze. Yesterday was almost chilly down on the beach with the onshore breeze.
Slept very well and Dh is still 😴😴😴. The sound of the sea lulls me . (Or perhaps it was the rather strong G and T I had earlier) 😵💫.
Today we’ll find a shady spot, have breakfast there and watch the sea. Tennis this afternoon and finish the book I started a couple of days ago.
I’ll await a call from the Estate Agent for the latest news.
Selling houses seem to take so long these days and Suffolk in particular is very ‘laid back’ about all things. No rushing here! 😉.
Rosesandlilac you must be so relieved. All the best for the treatment plan 🙏.
Do take care and stay cool and hydrated. 🍦
RosesandLilac I was so happy for you when I read your post just now.
What a joy to know the cancer is treatable. I'm just sorry you've had months of living with the wrong diagnosis.
It's a good idea to use taxis to and from the hospital.
I'm keeping you in my thoughts. All good wishes for a good outcome.
Lovely picture brook2704 my brother and sister in law are in Norway at the moment have been sending lots of snaps making me very jealous, it is a place I would love to visit.
Good morning from Stockport, already 24degrees but hopefully it should be a tad cooler after today.
I heard loud claps of thunder in the early hours but it wasn’t near by.
I spent all of yesterday in the lounge, yes I am northern and have a lounge, with the curtains drawn and the fan on.
After about 7 pm I went to sit outside with my GD until about 9, it was glorious, no sun on that side after about 2pm.
So pleased and relieved for you R&L that your prognosis is better than anticipated.
Hope treatment is soon and successful.
I shall get my morning tea and breakfast shortly but will stay in my bedroom which is west facing and I have a large fan which has been on all night.
Stay hydrated everyone.
Good morning all from a cloudy Glasgow, we had bright sunshine at 6am, now the sky looks quIre ominous.
R&L, much mate positive news.♥️
I was saddened to read yesterday, that one of our lovely, daily posters, has decided to take a break, after being attacked on another thread.
Some posters, should really think about the consequences of their actions on the more gentler posters.
DH's kidney and bladder scans were clear yesterday, so our hopes are now pinned on the endinocronologist.
I dropped DH off , because I couldn't find a space. What irritated me greatly (I am easily irritated at the moment), were the number of workmen's vans, parked in the disabled spaces.
By the time, I got to the Xray dept., exhausted, DH had already had his scan! I should have stayed in the xar!
My plan had been to go into the garden, but I felt so unwell, I did absolutey nothing. A few minute chat with my friend across the road, turned into an hour long chat.
It was so good, to offload, I feel very alone at the moment.
Tonight is our parish fundraiser, which I obviously cannot attend, on the advice of the rheumatology team.
I will go down, when no-one is about and set up the raffle prizes, check toilets, etc.
Before I go out, I must get DH to take photos of
the bruises, which have appeared overnight on my arms. A sign, there is a problem with my platelets. I am going to leave it until Monday, before phoning the surgery.
I wish you all a pleasant day and as always, my very best wishes to all the mountaineers,
FriedGreenTomatoes2 I do hope it goes ok, and that you are ok 💐
Good morning everyone from south Manchester where we had rumbles of thunder around 4am but now it’s another hot sunny day ahead with a high of 31°C forecast. My throat is a bit scratchy, the pollen count must be high.
I’m attending the funeral today of a dear friend, a neighbour further along the decking. It’s at Manchester Southern Cemetery at noon. The largest cemetery in the whole of Europe. Refreshments afterwards at a nice pub in Chorlton where I shall be able to meet his extended family none of whom live locally. He was 85 and such a kind gentle man.
Beautiful photo, Brook. Thankyou.
Good morning from the NE where thunder is rumbling all around but no rain yet.
Yesterday was warm but I did not venture out until DS took me shopping at 4pm.
After dinner we received the link to GD's prom official photographs so spent a while looking through them. There were some amazing dresses and one girl arrived on horseback, she is a showjumper but rode sidesaddle in her evening dress.
Today I am going out for lunch with my friend, will be an alcohol free meal as she is driving. Her DH normally drops us off but he is otherwise occupied today.
Good to hear things are moving forward RosesandLilac.
Stay cool and hydrated.
Good morning which has been improved already R&L by news of encouraging plans for treatment for you.
Another day for us as we have spent the last 2….apart from shorter walks with the little dog,we are indoors or the summer house reading and DH sleeping in the afternoon.
DC keep checks on us by phone that we are ok and we are thankful that we are.
Thinking of those who are unwell and/ or struggling with the heat.
Good morning from the east coast.
My DGS had me running through the sprinkler again last night fully clothes. But we had fun. As long as he’s smiling and laughing I’ll do anything.
This morning I need to do some cleaning while DH is at the gym and washing my downstairs floors. We are going out for lunch and to the cinema to see Disclosure Day. My husband is mad on all that alien stuff he’s been wanting to see it. I hope the aircon is working in the cinema on the hottest day so far. From Sunday it cools down nicely for us.
Sending lots of love to you RosesandLilac
Stay cool everyone and have a good day. 😎🌼
Good morning everyone from mid Essex. It’s sunny and warm again, and the house feels airless despite having several windows open. There was a pleasant easterly breeze yesterday but the wind has gone round to the south so it will be hotter!
I did very little yesterday , with more of the same today! I have some ironing to do and will do that after breakfast.
Better news for you rosesandlilac, I hope you don’t have to wait too long for your operation.
Have the best day possible everyone, keep cool if it’s still hot where you are!
Morning, 22 in S Hants, due 30, better than 36 yesterday.
Brilliant news * R&L* at last you have progress.
Welcome back brook ace picture.
I have a rheumatology appointment this morning to discuss osteoporosis treatment options. Should be home before 11.
Grocery delivery pm, not much else happening.,
Stay cool.
Good morning everyone from a bright and sunny 🌞 Northampton; felt cooler when I woke up but on looking at the bedroom thermostat it's only half a degree cooler than this time yesterday. However, it felt easier to sleep.
What good news Roses!
Hair appointment at 8.30 yesterday was fine; it was lovely and cool in the salon. I had my colour refreshed and then cut really short. Neither was it uncomfortable on the walk between the bus stop and home late morning.
Did very little again, mainly reading, and the newspaper cover to cover and puzzle pages which I love.
DD-out-law came and helped me with the cats' litter tray as I still cannot lift the heavy bags of litter, but hopefully will return to normal next week after seeing the optician.
Another day ahead of doing very little, just surviving in the heat, and making iced coffee. I shall also reward myself before dinner with a large gin and tonic just for getting through the day!
Take care everyone and hoping you have a pleasant day.
Good morning from a slightly cooler Torbay, thanks to the breeze.
Our church was packed for our late priest’s funeral yesterday. His widow was surrounded by her family and the son delivered a eulogy which had been written by his father. Afterwards we came home and enjoyed a glass of sherry with my neighbour, who had joined us for the service, as we reminisced about the dear departed.
I’m glad you had a more positive experience at your appointment, RosesandLilac and will keep you in my thoughts and prayers as time goes by.
DH has a dental checkup this morning then we shall probably go for coffee in Dunelm. We know how to live!
I’m glad your cruise was such a success, brook2709, and would be interested in which company and ship you used.
Wishing everyone a cooler day! 🦩🥰🦩💐🦩
Delighted at your better news RosesandLilac!
Good morning from a rather warm W Kent where I shall be making an early visit to the supermarkets and that will probably be all apart from contacting poorly friends
Roses&Lilac so relieved to hear your news, a plan at last
Stay as cool as you can
Good Morning from another already far too hot day on the central south coast. We are forecast another red zone heat day and an amber heat zone tomorrow so no relief in store.
To add to the heat effects irritation, I have just been advised that my Tesco order, due this morning has 15 unavailable items, including milk! How can a giant store run out of such a basic item? I realise they will have had a run on cold foods in this heatwave and that would make planning difficult, but milk unavailable? DH says he will go and find some and we can manage without the other missing items.
Our boiler is being serviced at 10am this morning which will probably entail it being switched on so maybe not the best day to be having it serviced!
I am a real moaning minnie this morning - sorry about that. I shall try to return to my normal equable self asap.
I do hope all with worries or struggles of any kind find some improvement today.
Good morning from the NE Mids. No breeze again this morning and the forecast is for it to be hot. There was a mention of thundery showers at some point with a 40% chance of rain…….I do hope it gets a move on.
Have a good day one and all!
Good morning everyone from a slightly cooler Lancashire.
We've had a sprinkle of rain and some thunder.
I'm so pleased you are finally making progress, RosesandLilac. I hope you get your operation date very soon.
We're planning to head to the caravan later today when DH has finished work.
Wishing you all the best day possible. 🌻
Good morning all from the Black country another warm day ahead.
Once again no plans will see where the day takes me, started another book yesterday so that will keep me quiet.
Rosesandlilac reassuring news 🤞 the wait for the OP is not to long.
Have the best day you can everyone whatever your plans, keep cool😎
Good morning all from a very sticky North Leicestershire.
An early start today as DH has an early drive. I aim to go to my friend's gift shop to look for a couple of presents and we have yet another chap coming to quote for the wall repair. The insurance company has agreed to pay and a few people have turned up to look but then not sent quotes.
Much better sounding news R&L
Have the best day possible everyone.
