Good morning, Michael12 and everyone!

What a day! Yesterday had been another really bad time with menopause; I was so rough with it - brain fog, no concentration, thumping headaches, physically wobbly, etc.- that as I went into the chemist, which has a little very worn-down stone step as the building is over 100 years old, I opened the door and immediately tripped on the step and crashed face down onto the floor, arms and legs spread like a starfish!

There was a painful crack, and I broke my nose! Agonising! Various huge bruises and weird colourings all over my face! I felt soooo embarrassed as staff and customers rushed to pick me up!

The ambulance took me to A&E, where I was only there just over an hour before being seen, the brilliant medics
filled me with strong painkillers and ice packs, did my face. They said it's definitely broken, but no operation is needed.

I was laughing with the medics and paramedics, saying that as it was menopause that caused me to lose concentration, I'm coming back as a man in my next reincarnation!

I turned up at work this morning looking like something from a horror movie, pressing the ice pack to my face; my boss, who I get along brilliantly with, burst into laughter the second she saw me and asked ''Have you been in nose-butting competitions with the chemist door?!'' I forced her to make me a mug of PG Tips!

My head and face are absolutely pounding, so I won't be watching YouTube or reading when I get home, just scoff a Mullerice with milk, then crash to bed!

You lot, be careful out there!

Good morning Mick, morning all from South Lanarkshire. After what turned into a lovely afternoon yesterday we are back to grey dampness.

Hope all goes well with your blood test Mick.

I picked up a few bits and pieces at the shops yesterday, I really must start looking things out properly and decide what I’m going to pack for our holiday.

Daft dug has an appointment with her lovely groomer today. I’ll drop her off on my way to the charity shop and as I’ll be working DH will collect her whenever she’s ready.

I’m not sure if our yarn group is meeting tonight, the husband of one of our members has died and I don’t think any of us have much enthusiasm for it just now. We’ll see how people feel later in the day.

Wishing everyone the best day possible.

Well done FGT each baby step is another win!

Morning all from West Oxfordshire. I didn’t wake up until 8.15 am!

I will be planting up the hanging basket this morning. I bought eight beautiful plants yesterday in mainly blue, pink, purple and white.

After lunch I am visiting a friend and her delightful dog.

Elder son was in touch yesterday to ask if I could look after my granddaughter for three days next week. Basically I will be dropping her off at school and the rest of the day will be mine. Kew Gardens, V&A, National Gallery…

Have a good day everyone. I am so sorry you are still waiting for your appointments R&L.

I’ve just set up an on line account with my Electricity supplier. They had messaged me for a meter reading. When Himself died I just phoned to tell them & put the account into my name only.

Anyway I felt it was time to be more pro-active and it was easier than I’d feared. Password confirmed ✔️

I’ve now sent them a meter reading which was reassuring and satisfying. A friend always says “Being in control gives you confidence”. That’s how I’m feeling right now. 🙂

Good morning from Wiltshire.

Yesterday proved to be quite warm after 11am. We took the kids to Bowood where they played with short light racquets and squishy balls. It was quiet as they were only there as they had a school I set day. They then walked through the grotto while I waited outside on a bench by the lake to give my hip a rest. I saw 2 B1b Lancers go over very noisily. DH let them scrabble up a 20’ rocky incline at the end of it, above the stream veering off the path which I was NOT happy about. In the afternoon I let them both play hairdressers on me. GD3 had written a list of hair styles with prices. No scissors were involved today after the hair cutting fiasco GS2 did on himself. They were preparing me for a fabulous ball apparently. I definitely would have been turned away!

When DH dropped them off he then had to drive home with the seatbelt undone as it has locked up and can’t be pulled out. Don’t know what he is going to do.

Belated birthday greetings Dragonfly. 🎂🍾🌺

Lovely to read your post last night Taichinan.

I had no idea that AuntieFlo had died, Greenfinch. 🥀

Have a good day everyone.

Good morning everyone from the east coast. I’m looking forward to the warmer weather starting today.

Yesterday GS had a good day at school though DS said when he came GS was awake since 3am so he was worried but there was no need. DGS did hit myself and DH over DH talking on his mobile. He took his telling off very calmly which was a surprise without self harm or causing damage. DH just forgot and picked up his mobile when it rang. 😢 little man does get distressed for some reason. I always tell people I don’t pick up my phone after school pick up time and just to message me.

Today I’m picking up mum and going to see uncle again. He’s getting a Sara Steddy piece of equipment today so they can move him from chair to bed and bed to bathroom etc. I had to look it up. His room is just full of loaned aides and equipment to help him. I need to speak to the office manager because on Saturday he got a care call and was charged for half an hour but we were there three hours and no one came while we were there. It showed someone was in there at the time we were there. It puts into question how many more of these calls he is paying for.

Hope today brings you a moment of joy. 🌼Thoughts to those suffering stress and illness. 💐

Good morning everyone from south Manchester where we have a forecast of 22°C but with white cloud and showers. I have no real plans for today, I’m still enjoying TiB and will potter and see how the day ahead unfolds.

I enjoyed Bents garden centre yesterday. It’s huge! My brother in law and his wife bought plants (natch). I bought a colourful swimsuit from Edinburgh Wool outlet. I enjoyed a wander. The garden centre is like a mini department store now, selling Barbour, Seasalt, Joules etc. and the cafe was superb!

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders.
Dreich looking so far. A shame as I'm expecting a house viewer later. I said I'd do an extra shop shift this morning, just 2 hours, and then a bookshop owner from Wigtown is coming to see if he wants any of my books which have been laid out for him to inspect.

Yesterday was sunny for our walk on the Peeblesshire hills with a cream tea afterwards.

I still have backache despite extra rest, icepacks and ibuprofen. I don't want to start back to the chiropractor but perhaps it's the only thing.

Who is this 6'3" male Karma? Maybe I missed something 😅

Hello Taichinan good to see you. 🖐️

Enjoy your cruise brook I've heard good things about those.

My DGD3 had her last exam yesterday too Harrigran .

I hope you hear from the hospital soon R&L and dragonfly it's too long.

Hope everyone has some joy today.

Marydoll Tue 16-Jun-26 08:19:40

Good morning all from a showery Glasgow, where it is 10°C.

I love those toes, R&L. I really want to do mine, but can't reach them!

Yesterday, there was a delay getting out for our trip, due to the fact, that when I opened the church safe, I found the donation bags, lying on the floor, still full of money, from the previous night . That is the sacristan's responsibility. 🤔

Thankfully, my friend, the Monday sacristan, asked what he could do to help and gave me a hand.
I caused such a stir, because I was wearing a dress, instead of my usual uniform of jeans and a top.
One, rather eccentric and deaf elderly parishioner, shouted out, rather loudly Why a dress? Why a dress? I tried to pretend I hadn't heard, but he persisted, Another wanted to know if I was going somewhere special, because I was dressed up..
Church is quite intimate during the week, so everyone notices everything!
There was me thinking, I looked quite elegant, but people were more interested in why I was wearing a dress. 🤭

We had a lovely morning in Troon, followed by the most delicious lunch in our favourite restaurant.
Unfortunately, I had a funny turn, reminiscent of the occasion last September, when I collapsed in Glasgow.
I had a drink and sat on a bench for a while till it passed.
We also had to cut short our trip, because DH was exhausted. This is the man, who used to play two rounds of golf in one day.
Despite the drama, we thoroughly enjoyed our day out

When we arrived home, two hospital letters were awaiting DH.
One was for a scan of his kidneys (no idea why) next Thursday and one regarding his colonoscopy.
He was advised that his urgent colonoscopy would be within the next four months, because some cases are more urgent than his! You couldn't make it up.

Today, I am off to Paisley for my Covid booster. We had planned to get the bus, due to parking difficulties, but I am struggling to walk. Decisions, decisions. It may have to be tbe the car and drive round in circles, until I find a space.
We had planned to go for coffee, but my RA is so troubesone, I just want to be at home.

The photos are of the view across to the Isle of Arran and to the right, you can just about see Ailsa Craig.
The third photo is of my tablet ice cream. It was pure nectar. DH said he didn't want ice cream, then demolished half of mine. 😊

Wishing everyone a pleasant day.
Hoping the holiday makers are having a lovely time and a hug, who have ill health and family worries to contend with.

P.S.
Latedecember, if you you wish to use italics, put ^ before and after the word with no spaces.
Strike through is -- before and after the word/ sentence.

Good morning from a cloudy grey Cambridgeshire.

R&L I do hope you get your appointments sorted very soon so frustrating keep calling them. Your toes look very good. I like the colour.

Yesterday wasn’t a good day. We decided to load the bikes on the car (bit of a hassle as they are heavy electric mountain bikes) and set off for Grafham Water to cycle around. Ws got there after a delay of DH deciding he needed to collect his new hearing aids first. We arrived in pouring rain so sat in the car and ate our picnic. It was still raining so decided to head into the car park coffee shop for a drink hoping the rain would then stop (as forecast) but there was a big queue that wasnt moving at all so we abandoned and decided to head home. By this time I had developed an awful headache so spent a quiet afternoon laying down, very unusual for me! Please can we have some sunshine today ☀️

DH is talking very slow and quietly and behaving quite oddly with his new hearing aids I suppose they will take some getting used too but apparently they shouldn’t get wet so may cause difficulty with bowling and outdoor activities 😳

Today I need to do housework jobs around the house and collect the little ones from school. Weather permitting we hope to do them a BBQ early evening.

Hope everyone has a good day

ginny Tue 16-Jun-26 08:09:19

Good morning from a cloudy N. Bucks.
DH will be leaving soon for a three day golf break with three pals, hope the weather is kind to them.
I will be collecting DGS1 at midday to take him out to lunch. Hopefully we’ll find something else to occupy us afterwards for a while. A bit restricted due to his broken leg and crutches. He is doing ok after the accident last week but missing work and getting about outside.
A quiet evening for me and early bed as I have to be up early tomorrow to catch a coach.
Wishing all a good day with a smile along the way.

hollysteers Tue 16-Jun-26 08:04:13

Good morning from a chilly Cloudy Chambers northwest coast.
Optician again yesterday. I have two prescriptions for contact lenses, one for distance and one for reading music and for performing. This means two appointments for after care as well as my specs…

A bit of bother as I sent a gift to my DD in the south for arranging our holiday and the big river delivered it to the wrong address. We faffed around on FaceTime with photos of the wrong flat, but someone brought it round. I also set up my new iPad, transferring from my old one.

I need am imaging photo of a little something on my face that needs checking and DS is coming over to do it as it needs two people.
Today to the usual music club, so I will have a warm up warble.

It’s about time you had your appointments RosesandLilac and snap with your toenails, I too have self painted red toenails.

Nice to see Taichinan back, I often thought of you and thoughts to all🌺

Jaxjacky Tue 16-Jun-26 08:03:11

Morning from a bright S Hants with high clouds. Pretty toes R&L, usually have mine done, but the foot on my troublesome hip side swells up during the day, so vain!
Voluntary phone was steadily busy yesterday.
We ate leftover bbq.
I have a cleaner coming today for a try out, it feels indulgent.

Good morning from a sunny and what seems like shot Suffolk. DH said last night he and the little dog might spend the day with the windows open and the curtains drawn in the sitting room tonight but I don’t think there is any need for that just yet!

I’m about to go and water the pots, mainly with roses in the back yard before the sun reaches there. It is a sun trap in the morning but shady in the afternoon so a lovely spot to sit.

An easy sort of day for me…I hope to finish the ironing I made a start on yesterday, pop up to the village car park to recycle a huge bag of bottles and then on to our nearest town where there will be a local councillor in the library to try and get some sense of what is going on with the new recycling bins.

The scheme started about 12 days ago but we and our neighbours haven’t had the new bins. Perhaps a l person will know as reporting it online has got no response.

Hope all have a good day.

kittylester Tue 16-Jun-26 08:01:51

Good morning all from a cloudy North Leicestershire. We have rain, then sun, then rain again in the forecast.

DH is off out this morning doing a volunteer drive and my friend is coming for a brew and to bring me her self published memoir. Really looking forward to getting stuck in to that.

Yesterday was exhausting. I helped with a group of people who have advanced dementia. We had 2 sisters in the group who slapped, pinched and pushed each other. It was really difficult keeping them otherwise occupied. My admiration for their carers is endless. What a great job they all do.

brook2704 Tue 16-Jun-26 07:51:11

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s warm with some grey clouds
I hope you get your appointment soon roses it’s really not good enough
I really enjoy any botanical gardens greyduster what a treat this time of year
I’m off to the gym this morning and then hopefully doing some more gardening this afternoon. I’m busy packing too as on Thursday we’re going on a weeks cruise from Edinburgh to the Norwegian fjords. I’m looking forward to seeing the scenery and the life on board ship, also the fact we don’t need to go through the whole airport experience.
Enjoy the tennis bellas no need to feel guilty doing what you enjoy, you definitely deserve it
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today us gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

luluaugust Tue 16-Jun-26 07:43:53

Good morning from a cloudy W Kent. An at home day today as someone is coming to look at a downpipe, and an electrician is also dropping by. I have washing to catch up on.
DB went home after a good weekend seeing all the family available
Best wishes

RosesandLilacs What pretty Footsies you have!

Gelisajams Tue 16-Jun-26 07:39:49

Good morning from a campsite on the banks of the river Ouse. What a delightful spot it is! We were so pleasantly surprised when we arrived that the first thing we did was hire a boat and tootle off up the river. It was perhaps a slower tootle than it should have been as it was almost time to take the boat back, when DH who was driving it, realised he had a second gear and it could go faster!
Today we are off to Warwick. My paternal ancesters all lived around Leamington before moving to Manchester. so we will drive round and get a feel of places. I was hoping to visit a few churchyards but looking on Google maps the churchyards seem to have been cleared of gravestones and grassed over. Even if they are still there the inscriptions are probably worn away.
R&L your wait is totally unacceptable and infuriating. I admire your patience!
Take care everyone 🌸

harrigran Tue 16-Jun-26 07:37:52

Good morning from an overcast NE and the heating is on again.
My neighbour visited yesterday, the one who is supposed to be on holiday. Sadly she had a car accident near Dalwhinnie and was left without transport. Her DS drove from the south of England and collected her and brought her home. She was clearly upset, in 50+ years of driving she hasn't even had a minor bump.

Yesterday was a celebration day for GD2, in the morning it was her final exam and then her mum took her out for lunch.
She will meet up with friends today and then DS and DIL are taking her to Northumberland for a long weekend of walks and photography.

GD1 is back at her uni accommodation after a week in Corfu, she had a great time with six friends.

Quiet day for me, just putting away laundry I did yesterday.
Have a good day.

Gingster Tue 16-Jun-26 07:37:11

Good morning all and it’s overcast again here in Essex.

Yesterday was satisfying as I defrosted the freezer in the shed, sorted and cleared food so now I know what’s in there. I’ll do the indoor drawer type one today.

I shopped locally with my trusty trolley and took little pooch along for the adventure. She heads straight for the greengrocers who always gives her a few treats and lots of cuddles. 🐾🐾.

Today I have Bridge club and my friend is picking me up. I’ll have to get the bus back as she doesn’t like driving in rush hour across the Weir (you know what I mean GG. ) The traffic is horrendous at that time.

Who is this strapping 6ft 3ins male Karma who is visiting? 🤔.

Take care all 🌺

BlueSapphire Tue 16-Jun-26 07:32:28

Good morning everyone from a cloudy and overcast Northampton, but hopefully it will stay dry as I have a walk ahead of me this afternoon.

Was at the surgery early in time for my appointment yesterday; I had my blood test and then asked the nurse if she would kindly check my blood pressure - no she would not, I would have to make another appointment for that. Went to reception, no available appointments yesterday, but they came up with one today, early afternoon, which I took, hence my long walk again today.

As by then it was 8.45am, and I had had nothing to eat or drink (fasting blood test) I walked to the village bakery for coffee and toast in their cafe. I then crossed the road to the dentist and amazingly got an appointment for tomorrow to check on my chipped tooth.

As I had by then missed a bus, I had a mooch around the charity shops and decided to walk the nearly 2 miles home.

After lunch spent the afternoon with three days worth of newspapers. Also phoned the cataract clinic to ask for some more eye drops; will pick them up Thursday.

A bit of pottering this morning, an early lunch and then out to the surgery again.
Home made Moussaka from my freezer for dinner tonight.

Wishing all a pleasant day.

Redcar Tue 16-Jun-26 07:30:04

Good morning everyone from mid Essex. It’s cloudy and damp out but fairly mild out. We may see the sun late afternoon and a warm day is forecast. My friend cut the grass in the back garden yesterday afternoon and it looks much better now.
I pottered about and tried out a new gadget from Lakeland, hopefully it will make cleaning the shower tray and hard floors a little easier.

It took me ages to get to sleep last night, so I went back to yesterday’s good morning thread and was really pleased to see taichinan posting again. Good to see you again tai!

rosesandlilac I love your toe nails! You have really pretty feet, my arthritic toes are very misshapen now.

latedecember I hope this afternoon’s meeting with the social worker goes well.

Thinking of those who are struggling in any way and hope the day brings some improvement.

Have the best day you can everybody.

dragonfly46 Tue 16-Jun-26 07:27:56

Good morning from a dull Leicestershire. The sun did peep out for a time yesterday.

Taking DS to the station this morning but not a lot else planned.
Will do a bit of gardening as everything is growing so fast.

You have beautiful feet RosesandLilac. I hope you hear from the hospital soon. We are still waiting for results after 5 weeks.

Wishing everyone the best day possible.
