Good Morning Everyone,
Its light and its dry here in Brackley at the moment, the weather vane on the Town Hall is just getting a reflection of the Sun.
Todays plans the usual bus journey into Bicester , do a shop and maybe have chat to those I know .
Return home have lunch and have a quiet afternoon .
Health OK,
Take Care,
Mick

Litterpicker it’s a house of young people , they do know , they hear it as they leave , if one of them is home the dog still barks if someone walks past the house
Another neighbour went to complain ,they apologised and were very polite , they said they tried putting the dog in the yard but it started whining to get back in the house ,!

grandMattie Mon 15-Jun-26 13:00:16

Wonderful to see you again, Taichi.
Don’t worry about being boring, many of us are! (No offence, guys)

Taichinan Mon 15-Jun-26 12:39:40

Thank you so much everyone! And we still do tai chi on the beach Jaxjacky, every second Saturday at 10am, come rain, shine, wind or snow . And I agree Karma, each day in itself is the greatest gift. Sometimes we need a nudge to remember that. In recent weeks I've been getting huge joy watching a pair of great tits who have nested and produced young in an old Grecian urn on my patio. I think the young may have fledged at first light this morning but that there may be a weakling who hasn't made it up the neck of the amphora and out as the activity of the parent birds is very different today. I'm actually very lucky that this has coincided with my lazy recovery day after the workshop!

karmalady Mon 15-Jun-26 12:07:22

I am elated and chuffed that you are back Taichinan

Please note that no life is humdrum and just being alive is good news

BlueSapphire Mon 15-Jun-26 12:01:52

Hey good to see you back Taichinan

Jaxjacky Mon 15-Jun-26 11:35:17

Great to see you Taichinan pleased all is pretty ok, apart from the hearing, I used to love pictures of your Tai Chi on the beach.

Grandmabatty Mon 15-Jun-26 11:17:05

There you are Taichinan! How lovely to hear from you.

monk08 Mon 15-Jun-26 11:11:23

Lovely to see you posting Taichinan do try and pop in now and again, like you I feel I don't always have a lot to post but love to read the goings of others.

GrandmaC47 Mon 15-Jun-26 11:09:06

Happy Birthday, dragonfly, 🎈🎂🥂💐

Taichinan Mon 15-Jun-26 11:06:14

Good morning everybody! You haven't heard from me for a long time, I know. Nothing sinister! I just got very bored with myself and my no-news posts which underlined how quiet my life is. I did often 'lurk' though 😉.
I was so sorry to hear that your lovely DH had passed away FGT. He is I know sorely missed, but thanks to the great love you shared you are finding so much strength 🫂
Another thing I picked up is that sadly Madeleine is among the missing. Her long newsy rambling posts were so lovely to read.
And finally, when I 'did a lurk' one day last week, there was my user name! Thank you so much glammagran for remembering me, I was so surprised! And felt not a little guilty at having faded away without so much as a word.
I couldn't respond immediately as I was just heading off for a three day international tai chi workshop which our group of tai chi classes here was hosting. The instructor is from Canada and inspirational as well as being fun! It was a very tiring three days, but so much fun and the time spent with so many lovely, like-minded people was such a huge pick-me-up. I should say that I am now almost totally deaf (even with state of the art Bluetooth hearing aids) which is very isolating and can be very depressing, so spending time like that was so good. Although I could hear only an occasional word here and there, at least I could see the instructor's moves and get some sort of an idea. I think the class I teach tomorrow will in fact be me as the class and the students teaching me! I'm looking forward to it 😃.
Thank you for taking the time to read my ramble. I may well come back to inflict more on you, but I'm just not sure it will be a daily thing.
Oh, and happy birthday to Dragonfly 🥳💐🎂

Bellasnana Mon 15-Jun-26 10:14:55

A very happy 80th birthday to you dragonfly🥳💐🎂

Litterpicker Mon 15-Jun-26 10:13:18

Aggie, do your neighbours know their Labrador is barking while they are out? Our new (at the time) neighbours had an elderly dog that barked constantly when they were out (although they were retired so it wasn’t all day). No-one mentioned it to them until sometime later, after the dog had died. They were horrified and said they wouldn’t have left him if they’d known.

Litterpicker Mon 15-Jun-26 10:07:19

Good morning from West Sussex. The weather looks ideal for drying the washing when the machine has finished rinsing and spinning it, and for gardening which I plan to do once the washing is blowing in the moderate (according to the forecast) breeze. I will do some forking and weeding at the local Quaker meeting house where I will join a gentle Tai Chi session just after midday so I’d better try not to get too dirty. I had a very satisfying weeding session at DD1’s after their BBQ on Saturday. DD is struggling with a garden that is ‘over mature’ - large trees and shrubs dominate and bindweed is thriving. DD also has back pain brought on, she thinks, by having transferred to a new job and being unable to take her adjustable desk with her. She has asked for one but weeks go by and no sign of it 😕.

I am so sorry to hear about your DH, Marydoll. I hope there will be better news when he has further investigation.

Happy 80th birthday Dragonfly 🎂🍾

aggie Mon 15-Jun-26 09:59:17

Good morning fro a dry overcast Co Armagh
I was hoping for some sun , but it must be sulking
There is a dog barking his head off accross the road , I’m not that fond of dogs , but this one is a big softie of a Labrador and is left shut up in the house all day , he gets a walk morning and evening , surely that’s not enough
We have triple glazing but I can still hear him

harrigran Mon 15-Jun-26 09:52:59

Good morning from a cool NE.
Had a quiet Sunday after our family outing on Saturday, we were windblown and tired but got to see the dolphins from the end of the pier.
Yesterday I was shocked to see my neighbour back home, she left for the Isle of Harris on Friday morning. Her car is not on the drive so I am assuming she has had a breakdown.
Happy birthday Dragonfly 💐

Happy birthday Dragonfly

Grandmabatty

Llfl is Ripley named after the character in Alien?

She certainly is!

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Mon 15-Jun-26 09:09:31

Crikey latedecember I didn’t make that very clear (I’d never be any good teaching!)

I meant use one asterisk on either side (both sides) of a word.

Good luck! 😂

Astitchintime Mon 15-Jun-26 09:07:43

Good mornings from NE Mids. Late start for me this morning and I haven’t even looked at the weather forecast yet although it is dry and a little overcast just now. No plans to go out so it’ll no doubt be a potter in the garden day.
Have a good day one and all!

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Mon 15-Jun-26 09:07:32

latedecember you seem to be attempting to post user names in bold.

I see you used double asterisks after a name and also tried it using double asterisks before a name.

If you put just one asterisk right up close to a name you will be successful! 😁

dragonfly wishing you many happy returns of the day. I expect your best birthday present would be reassuring news about your husband’s recent scan. 🤞 for you both.

stilllearing it sounds as though you’ve enjoyed a delightful holiday!

Marydoll I find it so amusing that you & I often find our posts sit right next to one another! 😁. Enjoy Troon, much deserved. Your anxiety will be high right now waiting for that urgent hospital appointment for your husband.

*karma’ I think you ought to change your name to Duracell!

LLFL sorry to hear of your concerns over Milo.

Wishing everyone who posts (and those who choose to just read) a smooth Monday as best as. x

Good morning everyone.
Grandmattie if your son gives you a lot of cloves perhaps you can make oranges, stuck with cloves and a ribbon to hang. You could sell them in the run up to Christmas?
I'm pottering at home this morning and shall go to Monday Club this afternoon.
Kindest thoughts to all.

Good morning from Sunnyside Sandhills northwest coast.
Sorted out suitcases yesterday. Keeping two ready to go, one small and one large, became too confusing. My flying DD can come up with an offer of a trip anywhere and I also spend time in the south with her. I also hold on to various things that might be useful when travelling, leading to quite a build up.

A voice student from ages ago rang up out of the blue for a chat, which was nice and we might meet up in the not too distant future. It’s always nice to be remembered. Strange how one can be so important at one stage then completely forgotten. I did the same myself of course.

Phone calls to make today, doctor, DD, holiday insurance etc and an optician’s appointment this afternoon. Also need to decide what I’m going to sing tomorrow at the music club.

Birthday greetings dragonfly and thoughts to all🌺
