Good morning from Morecambe Bay where it currently calm, cool and cloudy. I think we got your share of the rain yesterday GMattie. It didn’t stop even for an hour, and at times was very heavy. Enjoy your meet up today.
R&L it’s just not on that you have to wait so long between appointments.
We got everything sorted yesterday regarding the mess the carpet fitters had left. We had sorted some of it ourselves and the carpet fitters were sent back to sort out the problems including cutting and refitting the doors and replacing the wrong door plates. It should have been done right first time of course, but the customer service from the shop was first rate.
Today promises to be better weather wise, so I’m hoping to get in the garden as well as continue returning everything back to its place. All the cupboards and bookcases were emptied to make it easier to move the furniture. I intend culling a lot of things instead of just putting everything back. I mustn’t get sentimental- we have far too much stuff.
First it’s a walk in the woods. I hope the trees don’t drop big drips of water down my neck!
Take care🌸

Dd was very phlegmatic about the mess. She said there was a bleached mark on the carpet but the carpet was done anyway. Her and dsil don't harbour grudges, thank goodness. The boys are busy at my house. Dgs2 is drawing and eating a muffin: dgs1 is playing football in the hall.

Good morning everyone from a rainy mid Essex. It’s supposed to clear away this morning, leaving sunshine and showers.
Yesterday I went shopping in town and got most things I needed, plus a few I didn’t! After lunch I started to hack my way into the very overgrown patch at the end of the garden. I discovered that the large forsythia has an even larger prickly tree growing through it, so started to cut the tree down. I didn’t get very far with it, but will do more another day.
I have ironing to do this morning then will see my dementia friend later.

bellasnana, fortunate that no humans were hurt in the explosion, but sad about the animals.

gandmattie I hope you enjoy your meet up with the other grans.

Thank you for the lovely photos brook.

rosesandlilac. Unfortunately that kind of wait for test results isn’t unusual here, but is very worrying nevertheless.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Good morning all from a very wet North Leicestershire.

I have a parcel to pick up from M&S and then I was intending to have a wander round town. I may change my mind. DH has a volunteer drive late this afternoon.

We heard yesterday that my favourite sister in law is in hospital. She is living with dementia and went out of the house on her own. It seems she fell. An ambulance was called and she and her son then waited 11 hours in A&E. That must have been so confusing for her. She will be in hospital for a week or so.

Good morning all from a cloudy Glasgow, where it is 13°C.

It is surprising, there were no human fatalities, Bella. How terrifying for those involved.

Good luck with your scan Mick,

Llfl, I still have lace, bought in Rabat. We are now using it in my church.

I hope you don't have to wait too long, Roses . I'm still waiting for the results of the CT scan, I had in September. I have given up, after leaving umpteen messages on the consultant's secretary's voicemail.
The waiting for the result is the worst part and you have so much to contend with. 💐

Yesterday, was not the easiest of days. Our surgery have changed systems and I had to try and get DH registered with Patient Access.
I won't go into details, but I ended up in tears.
Of course, everything was all my fault.

Today, I am driving him to Silverburn, where we will attempt to change the pin on his credit card.
Everytime, he has used it recently, it has been declined. Eventually, I phoned the card company, to find that, he had never changed the temporary PIN, when he got his new card after being nearly scammed..🤬

I am also going to return sale items to M&S. However, I have every receipt for the last month, except this one! I think you can use your Sparks Card to get access the receipt.

Now that DD has brought my dresses down from the loft, I decided to do a cull.
It was easier than anticipated, I was too fat for most of them!!!
Furthermore, I looked like an extra from Little House on the Prairie in some of them. Whatever made me think, that was a good look? 🤣

GM, I hope you have a great meet up, I always enjoy the Glasgow ones.

Best wishes for all the hospital appointments and safe travels.
Have a good day folks.

Good morning from N.Bucks where it is tipping it down .
Good day yesterday with the boys, the elder was suffering with his hay fever but still managed to do some crafting. He was quiet at the park but the younger one was full of beans.
Today I have a manicure and pedicure and then on to lunch with 2 or maybe 3 long term friends.
Have stripped the bed and cleaned the bathroom and later will be making some birthday cards.
Wishing you all a good day and thinking of those with troubles and worries.

A quick good morning from a damp Portsmouth where I’ve just written a long account of my adventure at sea yesterday and it appears to have disappeared into the ether.

Just to let you know, I’m safe and I’ll regale you with the details tomorrow! 😀

Good morning Mick and everyone from grey but currently dry Carlisle. It wasn't yesterday, it rained all day apart from a brief period of sun at dinnertime then heavy rain kicked in. I'm not unhappy, my newly scarified lawn will be the better for it.

Good luck with the scan and getting seen early Mick.

And Rosesandlilac, I'm just shocked at the waits you are having to endure. You're being admirably strong about it.

Yesterday, I ploughed through the routine jobs of bed changing, laundry and vacuuming, 'ploughed' because of a poor night's sleep.
I slept in a bit this morning thankfully and am now ready to go into town and collect my second pair of glasses. The new, revised prescription has proved fine. Then I need to post a parcel, something I rarely do these days as I jib at the cost but some people prefer an actual present rather than a token.

Back home, I still have a bit of cleaning and tidying to do in anticipation of my visitors. I successfully freegled some larger items yesterday and thus cleared some floor space, at least one tripping hazard removed.

I'm surprised, and glad, no one was killed in the explosion Bella. Poor parrot! He should have lived a lot longer.

And wishing you all the best possible day.

Good morning from a damp northwest coast.
Quiet day yesterday and had my usual very long enjoyable FaceTime with my sister in the south. I’m going away at the end of the week and need to decide what to take, the change in the weather makes me unsure.

Music club this afternoon and as I couldn’t connect to the internet last week, I must download some backings as well as decide what to sing. The unaccompanied folk song isn’t a problem of course.

Thoughts to Mick Bluesapphire and RosesandLilac for medical procedures.

Card I painted.

Jaxjacky Tue 02-Jun-26 08:38:02

Morning from a soggy S Hants, heavy rain overnight much needed.
Just updated stats and handover notes from the voluntary phone yesterday.
I need to start sorting a new dentist, mine is retiring.
I hope you enjoy the meet up gMattie
Tales for future years Grandmabatty!
Lovely pictures brook so fresh, thank you.
Dreadful waits R&L so frustrating for you 💐
I’ll wave as you pass on the M27 Ashcombe.
A small PB win has started my day well.
Enjoy your day.

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. I've had very little sleep and mostly between 4 and 8am. 😟

I have managed to get a GP appointment this month! Once you admit it's not urgent and you want to see a particular Dr, there's a wait.. The docs are all part time at my practice. My exercise was walking there and getting the bus home.

You are a stoic Rosesandlilac but I understand that there's little point in making a fuss.

I have 3 more house viewings booked for later this week. The EA doesn't seem to want to do them.

Now you know you have a creative DGS Grandmabatty! 😂
At least it was sweet smelling gel.

My DH as a small boy painted his DGP garden shed and bench with black gloss paint, thereby acquiring the label insane as in. the boy's insane

Hope all goes well at the hospital Mick
And with your meet-up gMatte
Great photos brook I am jealous.

Hope everyone has a good day.

Good morning from Durham, I haven’t had a good night, but fell asleep at 5am and had a 3 hour nap. It seems a pleasant day, although I’ve an empty and won’t be going far.
Everything completed in Virgin, helped by a very willing Associate - but it’s not working! I think I’ll have to go back this afternoon.
DD2’s last day in Majorca so Little Dog will be going home tomorrow.
Good luck with your scan Mick
I am shocked at the delays Roses and Blues it’s not good enough.

Best wishes to all. X

Good morning from showery and sunny s somerset

Rosesandlilac you are a strong person, that wait time is shocking

I am shattered now, I spent almost 2 hours giving the en suite a really good clean and tidy, every corner, it smells nice and fresh, like vinegar

The door handle is due to arrive today and my tools are ready, it is an easy fix but expensive at £50 for just one multi-point handle. The windows person was so nice, he directed me to the exact online site and said that it was expensive but a lot cheaper than him ordering it. There are 00s of handles in all sizes, I must say I was very grateful for his willing and cheery helpfulness. Handle details are now filed in the house file

Yesterday I did finally sort my many good kitchen knives, I have a large block for them and that is going to cs, knives to DDs. I am replacing with a small vertical block for 6 knives, it can stand against a wall and is only 8cm deep. Expensive but so be it, same make as my knives as it happens

I am having a break now and will then bring two diamond sharpening stones into the kitchen. Relics from my wood carving days and I am very grateful that they were not in the big box of carving items sent to DS in Scotland, only to be stolen en route. I intend to maintain the sharp edges properly, a few have burrs, remnants from the push/pull sharpener which I am ditching

I need silicone spray, hopefully later from town, if my delivery has arrived. I need to spray all moving parts on windows and doors tomorrow, its a boring job but parts can degrade if not done as happened wrt my door handle, the spring mechanism shattered

Good morning from the east coast. We had showers overnight so the garden has been watered.

I’m with mum and uncle today. He’s really declining and mum and I are accepting of it. It’s like he has no will to live now. The occupational therapist went last week and there are all sorts of aides in place to help him. He wanted a hospital bed and he’s getting one. He wanted a wheelchair and he’s getting one. Well I know him well and he won’t walk again. 🤦 He refused a shower this morning as he’s doing all the time now but one of the bosses has put him in the shower today anyway so he’s clean for us getting there. Honestly you wouldn’t believe it. I could write a book at the moment. We are in despair at the moment. He’s buzzing every few minutes to be lifted out of his chair but when they go at mid day he’s managed to get down to the restaurant for his lunch himself. 🤷‍♀️

There is a beautiful smell of jasmine outside when I opened the back door I think it must be over the fence next door. It reminds me of holidays abroad.
Wishing everyone on holiday a lovely time🌞
FGT enjoy your final few days in your happy place. I’m sure it’s been an emotional first visit back.
Best wishes for your scan Mick
RosesandLilac it seems a long time to wait for results. Sending special thoughts💐
Grandmattieenjoy your meet up. I’m sure you’ll have a great time with the lovely ladies.

Sending best wishes to everyone for a lovely day🌼

Good morning, Michael12 and all!

brook2704 Thank you for the beautiful photos!

I was in bed dead early yesterday after work, about 6, because of the menopause crippling me up again, but when I got out about 8:20, it was absolutely POURING down in great thick dark sheets and the lovely ''hissing'' of it as it landed on metal things! It was glorious, so I kept my bedroom window open, and I also opened the living room, bathroom, kitchen and office too! I was in my t-shirt and shorts but went downstairs and stood it in for 10 minutes, getting utterly saturated! I loved it, then a brilliant shower and clothes change after! I'm not sure, but I think I heard thunder too!

Tonight I'll be YouTube watching ''The Criminal No One Can Catch - The Bat Whispers (1930)'' with Chester Morris, so I'll make sure I've got a cuppa and a dish of mac cheese with peas!

Bye for now!
