Good morning from warm and sunny Anglesey.
Yesterday I tackled the raised bed in our caravan garden.
Lots of buttercups had taken root. I love their cheery yellow flowers, but I know if I'm not ruthless they'll take over.

Going to have a quiet day today. We had thought of going to the junior eisteddfod at the Mon Showground but entry is £25 per adult with additional charges for some activities once inside.
We simply can't justify £50 at the moment, perhaps when the little chap is older and can appreciate it too.
Lovely to read what others are up to with some gorgeous views.
Hope today is bearable, Bella. Time helps, but the sadness still lingers on significant days.

Nice day yesterday as my DS came round on his motorbike (wish he would get a car…) and he’s great company. He did a few jobs and we had a beef stroganoff together.

Im going to his friends’ annual barbecue today in the country and it’s a good day weather wise for it.

A pleasant lunch with my sister yesterday finalising arrangements for our holiday in two weeks and some interesting photographs received from another sister who is on a safari trip in Africa. Botswana and Zimbabwe I think.

This afternoon DD5 is picking me up and we’ll be meeting up with my brother in law who is ‘home’ from Canada for a holiday reconnecting with family and friends. His trip back in time included climbing the Cobbler, one of his uni haunts, with DD3 and my eldest grandson who will start his time at the same university in September. Circle of life.
His own daughter and her family live and work with the Inuit people in the north of Canada, how things have changed over our lifetimes in ways we could never have imagined.

Kind thoughts to Bella, FGT and others having to dig deep today, I hope Marydoll and others missing posters are doing okay.

Good morning everyone from a very bright and sunny 🌞 Northampton, another fine hot day ahead.

Spent yesterday morning waiting in for Royal Mail to collect a parcel - they eventually did, but three hours late!
Luckily the delay did not affect my plans for the day, as I still had time to get a bus into town for the theatre. And time to pop into the bank first.

The.show.was wonderful and Birmingham Royal Ballet absolutely out of this world.
The first half was Les Sylphides, which I had never seen before, . and the.second was excerpts from various ballets, mostly all choreographed by the.great Mikhail Fokine and premiered by Diaghilev's Ballets Russes. Gorgeous costumes and dancing.
The only downside was the air-conditioning in the theatre which was on at full blast and extremely chilly!

No plans for today - too hot to be outside much, but I may clean the outside furniture, brushing away cobwebs and giving it a good scrub and hose-down. It will be shady under the pergola. And although there is still weeding to do and grass to be cut, it is much too hot.

Good morning from an already very warm and sunny Suffolk where the day will be spent at home and in the shade after a walk with the dog.

She chooses where we go and for how long and yesterday she and DH were on their way back over the bridge from the fields whilst I was still chatting to a neighbour on my way down.

DGD4 apparently loved her DofE expedition yesterday but exhausted and very grumpy ,no doubt very little sleep and that very early 5am start. Luckily she now has the week’s half term break to recover whilst her sister and brother continue revising for their exams.

Hope those with sadness in their lives at present find today not too difficult to cope with.

Good morning everybody from Málaga where we have another gorgeous sunny day ahead (same as most of the UK and La Sarthe it seems!). I had to Google ‘Pentecost’ Ashcombe and I recall it better as ‘Whit Sunday’ I remember new summer dresses and white sandals for my sister and me. Happy days.

I’m meeting friends (neighbours in this block) for breakfast. A new cafe has opened across the road and it’s run by a Spanish couple but only 10 - 2pm and when asked if he’d please stay open longer (it’s very popular apparently) he laughs and says “no I work in the mornings and I like to go to the beach in the afternoons” a good work/life balance good for him!

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. The sun is up In South Yorkshire and it’s going to be a hot one. There are two to cats having stand off at top of the cul de sac opposite. They will have a horrible spat and then just stare each other out. They've been there ages!

Yesterday’s early walk at Longshaw was lovely. It was fairly overcast to start with which we were grateful for. The views as you climb up through the meadows are amazing. The whole of the Hope Valley spread out before you - Lose Hill, Win Hill and the Kinder escarpment behind - happy hunting grounds. There were, and always are, millions of ants wherever you walk and they are fascinating. We watched them carrying stuff back to their nests. They seem to have their own little superhighways and don’t deviate from them. I really enjoyed the walk, though it kindled a lot of memories. It was a favourite haunt for DH and I.

Today I will do not a lot. A couple of jobs in the kitchen and then garden chair, book, iced tea!

Good morning Mick and everyone from cloudy Carlisle where it's about 10°C currently.
I need more warmth and sun! But not what you're getting further south. Yesterday we reached 21°C and got sun over the middle of the day.
I went for the papers after breakfast, walking through the park where both sets of swans were displaying their new broods at last...one set has 8 cygnets, the other 7. I hope there are no problems with dogs and fishing lines this year.
Later, I had a long phone chat with my sister and got stuck into my large pile of ironing .
I have finally mowed off my died down crocus and snowdrop foliage and cleared out some winter bedding. I fancy a trip to the big garden centre but perhaps I should just get stuck into the garden. Or get stuck into the rest of the ironing...

Good morning all from a very bright North Leicestershire.

DH and DS1 are using their season tickets for the last time today so I hope their team will pull out all the stops. I aim to sit in the cool with the papers.

We had worrying news from DD1 yesterday. DGD1,who is 17, has had a recurring headache for about 10 days. She has also had bouts of sickness. Her parents rang 111 yesterday and have an appointment at an Urgent Care Centre at 8.

Our next door neighbours had friends round last night. The ate in the garden. Our neighbours are actors and therefore project really, really well - it was quite entertaining.

I had a last minute invitation to dinner at a favourite Italian restaurant yesterday.
An excellent chef and good chat.

I had been tackling my DD's old bedroom/glory hole so was tired and dusty but revived after a shower and change.
A couple of lost things turned up too as my prize.

Today I shall plant out more vegetables,
finish some pottery and another friend is taking me out for afternoon tea for her birthday.

Nice to see you Karma and know that the allotment is giving you so much pleasure.

Good morning from sunny Stockport.
I have been up and awake as my GD and her BF are travelling to Wembley to watch their team Stockport County in the final of the play offs for promotion to the Championship league.
They are very hopeful.
Yesterday BF was playing football in a “fun day” between departments of his company and got a ball straight in his face, he has a beautiful black eye today, it isn’t a good look.

Bella always a nostalgic day, I remember your H’s illness when you had just returned from a lovely holiday to your family.

I hope today isn’t too hot for you if like me you can’t take it.
I read this week a warning that one of my medications can affect you in very hot weather.

I have plenty of salad in and it will be my go to meals for the week.

Enjoy family time and holidays for those of you lucky enough to experience.
For the rest of us just enjoy what you can and stay cool.

Good morning Mick and all from a cloudy Morecambe Bay. I’m not complaining but the silly temperatures haven’t arrived here yet. Yesterday was quite cool 14degrees, and the high today 20 degrees so very pleasant. Dog walk and church this morning but we are having a lazy couple of days as we both are feeling tired after the last couple of weeks galavanting. We managed to choose new floor covering yesterday, after much debate. It’s taken us 18 months to get to this stage. We thought long and hard about it but have decided on traditional carpet and vinyl.

Good morning everyone from mid Essex. Another sunny and hot day is forecast. I remember when my DDs were young that May was usually a cool cloudy month, but usually with one sunny week, not this hot but pleasant all the same. If we were really lucky it coincided with half term.
Yesterday i stripped the bed and washed the bedclothes, swapped the duvet for the summer one. I slept last night with just a sheet on me but was still hot.

I have some ironing to do today, and not a lot more, although there’s always cleaning to do!

gingster a busy day for you and your DS yesterday, but useful to get the shed tidy. I hope you have a trouble free journey to Hertfordshire today and that your dgd4 isn’t in too much pain from her knee.

Good morning from a perfect temperature in N Surrey...for the moment. I woke at 5 and opened the french windows in the kitchen and top sash windows upstairs and cool air flowed through. All will be closed at 9.00 and then fans on.
I sat in the garden with my tea and it was lovely. The rosemary and thyme make it smell like holiday mornings in Greece or Spain.
Intense heat now till Wednesday and it's only May.
I watered all plants very well yesterday evening and topped up the bird baths dott3d around the garden. The pots of hydrangeas covered in flower buds I moved out of direct sun.
Pottering in the garden in the very early morning and mid evening is such a pleasure. Keep sun safe everyone.

Good morning from a sunny W Kent. A combination of the heat and something I have eaten has really upset me so thankful we have another quiet day. DD2 dropped by yesterday which was lovely we had a good catch up
