Good morning from a chilly Co Armagh, it’s first communion in our chapel , I am giving it a miss , our chapel is small , I was told I’d get trampled in the crowd 🙄
Can’t remember who recommended the fitted sheets from cotton traders , my lovely help is delighted that her shoulders aren’t wrecked making my bed this morning , so thank you if your reading
Have a great day everyone

A late good morning from S Hants where we have sun and cloud, showers later. I spent a lot of the night coughing, dratted germs!
Not sure if Imogen is awake or not, I did hear some movement, MrJ is off out to a bowls tournament, back late afternoon, he might get wet.
I shall prep some dinner, chicken I think with veg and give the kitchen a clean while I'm there.
What a shock Bellas you recovered well, needs must, a gentle day today.
Another step FGT remember to breathe, himself would be so proud.
May you all and your loved ones have a pleasant Sunday.

Thank you Susan. Dd has said he's still sleeping so she's leaving him to rest. Best thing

Morning all from South Lanarkshire, still cold but hopeful for later on in the week. Mass this morning and then a day at home when I hope to get a few things sorted in preparation for going on holiday in three weeks time. I’m no good at last minute organising now, I just get agitated.

Very much enjoyed our theatre group outing yesterday to see Sweat, a challenging play about the effects of ruthless big business on poor small town America. Not cheery but well done.

That was a rotten thing to happen Bellasnana but I’m sure the children will have had a great time anyway and it will be the first of many sleepovers!

Thoughts will be with you tomorrow FGT

Have the best day possible everyone x

Good morning from Shropshire.Dry at the moment.

Yesterday DD collected the children earlier than usual as DGD was going to a party. We tidied up then a trip to the tip!We know how to enjoy ourselves.Everything we had taken was snapped up by the workers. One man’s junk is another man’s treasure😊

Nothing on the agenda today so a take it as it comes day.

Bellasnana what an awful thing to happen.Such a shock. You must take it easy today once the boys have gone home.I am sure it will be the first sleepover of many. When DGD was three, DD and SIL went to a wedding and asked if she could stay over for the first time. They missed her so much, just as we got her to sleep there was a knock on the door and there they were! She was furious so stayed another night instead and seven years later still has her weekly sleepover!

Grandmabatty I hope the new medication helps your son in law and he is feeling better today 🙏🏻

FGT💐we will all be thinking of you tomorrow and sending you love, strength and support.

Wishing you all the best day possible🌷🦩

Good morning everyone from a bright and sunny 🌞 Northampton, but rain expected lunchtime. I have just put some washing on, in the vain hope that it will dry before then.

Had a pleasant morning out shopping yesterday and came home with a t-shirt and cotton jumper, as well as my food top-up! The jumper is a most delightful shade of peach/apricot and was just calling to me as it is my colour.

Had a quiet afternoon reading the papers and listening to a favourite album of my DH, thinking of the 49 years we had together - full of happy memories although I missed him sorely yesterday on his birthday.

More newspapers to read today, and puzzle pages to do. Then I will cook a duck leg with orange sauce for dinner tonight.

Bella, so sorry to read of your fright yesterday, and hope your lump is not so painful this morning.

Wishing all a pleasant Sunday.

Good morning from Sunnyside Sandhills northwest coast.
Into the city by train to meet my alto friend to go to the opera last night. We had a quick meal beforehand and bumped into my cousin and his wife in the restaurant. They had just been to a play. Coming from large families, I often bump into cousins on my nights out.

I had mixed up the time and it started at 7. not 7 30, but as we arrived at 7.10. it wasn’t the end of the world. Sad to see the opera ill attended when the play my cousin had been to had hundreds pouring out…

A very handsome tenor certainly helped it along, and we met him afterwards. Stage door Jennies?😁 although meeting him was by chance…

I’m due out again tonight at my artist friend’s open mic night, but really fancy a night in.
Thoughts to FGT and I hope you are ok *Bella *🌺

I feel with younFGT my husband and I had an apartment in Spain for 18 years .. After he passed . I went on my own . In the beginning a lot of tears were shed but later happy memories comforted me . Have a good flight .

Good morning from our weekend house in Woodbridge.
DD & I had a wander yesterday morning and popped into the museum and then saw the replica long boat that is in progress.
The wedding in the afternoon was wonderful . An alternative ( pagan) one. Very personal and the weather was perfect for an outdoor ceremony.
Lots of lovely food and some entertainment. Many of the members off the three choirs that the bride conducts were there and we all sang together.
Today we shall visit the coast enjoy a leisurely lunch and then make our way home.
Bellasnanna doo rest today. That must have been a shock.

Wishing you all a good day.

Gingster Sun 17-May-26 08:32:13

Good morning all . Nothing going on weatherwise. No wind, sun or rain. I like a bit of weather , like Marzipan.

Yesterday DS and DIL came in for coffee and biscuits, chat and whirlwind son mowed the lawn. (I was going to do it later.)

The charity afternoon tea was a great success as usual. 100 people with ivermectin £1,000 made. So much food, we all took home doggy bags, much to DH’s delight.

Bellas what a shame that happened, just at bed time. Poor you and painful too. Take it easy today. The little chaps will remember their first sleepover at Nannas.

I’ve been rather lax with housework lately, only doing the dusting and vacuuming, so I’m going to concentrate on one thorough clean a day. (That’s until something more exciting crops up, 😅). Today will be the downstairs wc and cloakroom.

Fgt. It’s natural to feel nervous about your trip but you are very brave and will cope beautifully. The first time will be the hardest but after that, things will get so much easier. We’ll all be with you .

Take care all and enjoy the day as best you can 🌺

Good morning from a sunny but windy and cold NE.
Yesterday was a fairly lazy day with a brief spell in the garden spraying the weeds. The patio was covered in clumps of moss that had blown/ washed down from the roof, filled a bin bag.

Today DD and SIL are taking me out for late lunch, she returns to Brussels tomorrow.
Have a good day.

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Sun 17-May-26 08:29:18

Yes LLFL I’m the Queen of Lists!
Travelling on my own to the apartment has been done many times in the 21 years we’ve had it. It’s the knowledge I don’t have Himself at home anymore to phone to say “I’m here” etc and knowing I have stuff to sort out once there. Oh, even thinking about it just now has me filling up. Time to pull up my big girl pants.

Liberty Sun 17-May-26 08:19:10

Good morning from a bright Suffolk although I expect rain later.Bellasnanna what an upsetting incident for you and the boys yesterday. I hope the physical pain subsides although the emotional trauma may take longer to get over.

It is DGS2’s 15th birthday today but we won’t be seeing him as the family live about 200 miles away. He and his dad are into motor bikes and are spending the day at a ‘super fest’ bike do.

Much more mundane here. I have a pile of papers to read online for my monthly meeting on Wednesday and the ironing pile won’t do itself.

Hope all have an easy day.

Marydoll Sun 17-May-26 08:17:53

Good morning from Glasgow, where it is 7°C and cloudy.

Bella, what a terrible thing to happen.😱 I hope you are OK.

Yesterday went very well, with only a few dramas
Having spent three hours removing and replacing the dead flowers on Friday, I had planned to cut rhododendrons yesterday morning from the garden to pad them out.
DH had offered to cut the high ones for me.
However, he never cane back from his walk. I checked his tracker, but it had never moved for ten minutes. I thought perhaps, the papers were late, but as time went on, I began to worry.

As I was going to be too late to sort them, I went out and cut the flowersmyself in a fleece and slip.
I had to squeeze between my car and the bushes.. I don't know how many times, I fell into the bushes. I was raging at him, for letting me down.
Just as I cut the last flower, he appeared. Apparently, the papers were late and he had passed the time, chatting to his golf partner.
I will give you a hand, he said.
Too #%&&/×, I said, I am going out in ten minutes.
It was a rush to sort the flowers in time. I have lost my touch, they were quite amateurish, but looked OK from a distance.

Later, during Mass, I stood up and all the buttons on my dress popped open to the waist, I was mortified. I couldn't get the fiddly buttons closed and to make matters worse, I was right at the front. 🙈
I had just got the buttons closed, when a teacher stood up, grabbed a child's hand and tried to get him to the toilet, because he was going to be sick.
However, she had no idea, where to go and intended to walk through the whole church.

I grabbed the wee boy, to get him to a closer toilet, whenv I realised my dress had burst open again in full view of everyone on the altar.
At least my underwear was clean. 🤣
Dolly Parton eat your heart out.

The child had on full regalia, kilt, waistcoat etc. I ended up taking his jacket off and washing his face to cool him down.
At that moment his dad arrived. I hope you didn't need to deal with any mishaps, at my First Communion, he commented.
He was a former pupil of mine.🤣

By the time I got home, I wasn't feeling too well, I checked my BP, it was higher than DH's.😱

Today, we are covering both morning Masses, the Chief sacristan ( he does very little) is on holiday again.

Last night I saw my friend, who had to fly back from his critically ill sister's bedside, because his own wife had been admitted to hospital.
He is going to fly back tomorrow, to discuss switching off her life support. 😪
I wept for him. He is broken.

I must rush, running late.

Have a god day, folks.

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Sun 17-May-26 08:16:28

Those little boys look adorable in their pj’s Bellasnana! It’s the nape of the neck on young children that just looks so vulnerable it tugs one’s heartstrings I think. And for me, with tiny babies it’s their little half moon eyelids when their eyes are closed. 🥰

brook2704 Sun 17-May-26 08:11:40

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s a bright sunny day and it feels like it’s starting to warm up a bit
Oh bellas you poor thing, I hope you’re head isn’t too sore but I’m so sorry that it happened 🥰
Im looking forward to a catch up call with DS this morning, we’ll be finalising our meeting up arrangements as we’re going over to visit him at the end of the week. I’ll also do a bit of pottering in the garden today, there’s always lots to do.
A bit step for you tomorrow fgt, we’re all thinking of you with friendship and support
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Good morning from damp South Lanarkshire.

I’m so tired of this weather, I’d love to feel the sun on my face.

Bella, what a fright you must have had. Hope your head feels better soon.

I didn’t do much yesterday other than wash the floors, which seemed to take forever as daft dug kept walking over where I’d mopped so I kept having to go back over it to wipe away her little paw prints.

Usual Mass this morning with the counting of the collections afterwards.
This evening we’re meeting my Canadian cousin for dinner, we see him a couple of times a year as he visits his mother’s sister on her behalf.

Wishing everyone the best day possible.

Allsorts Sun 17-May-26 07:53:56

Good morning from sunny Midlands.
Glad you are ok after your head incident Bellesnana.
Whites wan, There are a few like your uncle round here, sure they like the drama, it must cost health service a fortune. I am the opposite. Give the places the widest berth imaginable. Hate feeling out of control stuck in a bed, most things pass (if they don't kill you always been my mantra) was in once after major surgery, if I could have walked I would have got a taxi home, the nurses deserved a medal.

cornergran Sun 17-May-26 07:51:53

Morning Mick, morning All from a sunny corner of Somerset. Showers forecast, again.

A forgetful day yesterday. My prescription remains in the pharmacy and the filled washing machine wasn’t turned on until nearly 10pm. Otherwise a decent day, an hour with our friend over coffee before she departed with three jigsaws, an enjoyable lunch, compost bought ready for tub planting when the weather settles before a quiet evening.

No plans for today other than croissant for Mr C’s breakfast and roast chicken followed by apple pie for our meal later

Ouch bellasnana, go gently today.

With thoughts to all facing challenges. Have the best day you can everyone.

Another hurdle to overcome FGT but I am sure it will again be your happy place with lots of wonderful memories.

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Sun 17-May-26 07:48:24

Good morning everyone from south Manchester where it’s sunny but cold at present. Rain is forecast later today.

I think I’ll hop on the bus and go over to see my stepfather. We chat on the phone every morning, have done for years. We take turns and it reassures me that he is safe, hasn’t had a fall.

He told me yesterday thats he’s proud of me for booking a flight out to Málaga tomorrow. I said I’m so nervous but he thinks once I’ve done it on my own and sorted out the apartment, tears will flow but I will gain in confidence. I hope so. This morning I’m all churned up thinking about it all, I will cry on the plane I just know I will, very aware that Himself isn’t with me. Hey ho. Needs must. I shan’t bother applying mascara when I get ready - no point.

RosesandLilac Sun 17-May-26 07:45:08

Good morning, it’s bright here in south Glos at the moment, high clouds and rain is forecast. We had a good downpour yesterday, the garden is looking much better.
Bellasnana what a horrible shock for you, I hope you’re feeling less shaken today. Aren’t those boys gorgeous? I remember the first time my DGCs stayed overnight, I was on tenterhooks although they were both very good.
I repotted 8 houseplants yesterday before it rained, I’m embarrassed to say that they’ve been sadly neglected other than watered.
One spider plant was almost all roots and no compost at all! I had to cut the pot off with a knife.
I’m hoping to make Lamb tangine for dinner, it’s years since I made one. DH turned his nose up so he’s making his own dinner 😋
Best wishes to you all 🌹

dragonfly46 Sun 17-May-26 07:42:10

Good morning from sunny Leicestershire, although it looks to be clouding over. I hope I get the dog out before it rains.

I feel for you Bellasnana what a shock for you and how scary. I hope you feel better today. I fell off a chair when my grandchildren were staying - they can’t remember it but I can.

I hope you get your picture Marzipan.
How worrying about your Uncle WhiteSwan.

Wishing everyone the best day possible.

luluaugust Sun 17-May-26 07:40:17

Good morning from a grey W Kent. Yesterday turned out to be busier than expected as DS, DIL and GS3 visited in the afternoon which flashed by with tea and cake. Today chat to DB who is off on holiday and slow cooked lamb for lunch.
Bella what an awful thing to happen hope the bruising improves soon
WhiteSwan flowers
Best wishes

Grandmabatty Sun 17-May-26 07:37:24

Thank you Redcar. No news is good news! My dining table is covered in photos and art so I know exactly how you feel
