I'm normally a reader not a poster but has any one contacted the moderators to see if they can do a health check on Madeline?

Good morning everyone from sunny Lancashire.

MrB and I have enjoyed our favourite walk around the dock and woodland path. I don’t think the sunshine will last long so I’m glad we were able to enjoy it. The Steam Railway Museum is operating again today and we caught a glimpse of today’s loco steaming up in preparation. No plans for this afternoon other than relaxing.

As always, thinking of those with troubles in their lives.

Wishing you a good day whatever you’re doing. 🌹

Nooo!
My mistake sorry - it was the end of March! Goodness only know why I thought it was a recent post! 😵‍💫

Still no Madeleine?

I have a feeling something has happened to Madeleine - I wonder if her son has read her emails/pm's from grandsnetters ? She was feeling very ill when she last posted. I do miss her lovely posts.

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Mon 04-May-26 10:50:10

I’ve just noticed madeleine45 posted on the glaucoma thread this morning. 🤷‍♀️

Good morning everyone from south Manchester where it’s dry and we have complete cloud cover. Our Yorkshire Lass and her husband stayed a second night. They’re still in bed. 😁
Home today (natch) they have work tomorrow!

I’ve no real plans but must nip down to the larder in the square my fridge is completely bare except for milk and a box of white wine. I did manage to cobble a breakfast yesterday - toast, scrambled eggs, baked tomatoes and fried up some halloumi - but when they eventually surface it will have to be brunch out!

Good morning everyone from an overcast and dull Northampton, very grey outside. No plans for today, another day indoors; will tackle the study, decluttering.

Gave the dining room a good sort out yesterday, dust removal, and went through a large pile of piano music; kept some and will take the rest to the charity shop. I cannot believe I still have my books of exam pieces from when I did Grades 5, 6 and 7 back in the sixties! I shall be keeping those, and may even try playing them again. I had been searching on Amazon for an arrangement of 'Jesu, joy of Man's desiring', imagine my surprise when I came across one in my pile of music!

Was contacted by Evri yesterday regarding my uncollected package; it should now be picked up on Wednesday. We shall see....

Easy dinner tonight, and one of my favourites - ham egg and chips, using left over ham from yesterday's gammon joint. Probably a ham sandwich for lunch as well!

Wishing all a pleasant May the Fourth - it's Star Wars Day!🚀🛰

Good morning from an overcast, dry Durham. I’m taking Little Dog back to DD2 this morning, then we have nail appointments later. In between I must finish packing, as it’s an early start tomorrow.

💐gM and those in need of them.

Best wishes to all. X

Good morning from an overcast Wiltshire. Woke up when a bomber flew overhead at 1:15am. There have been so many in the last 3 days.

After several days extracting Spring bulbs from pots and planting summer tubers I ache all over. I hope it’s worth it.

DD2 and family returned to the UK at 6 am yesterday. They were very tired so we didn’t see them. We cooked an array of Indian dishes (Madhur Jaffrey) for dinner yesterday. Our house will smell like a takeaway for days.

GM💐on a poignant day for you. Have a good day everyone.

Good morning from a brightening blue Suffolk sky. I was hoping for rain yesterday but nothing since a drizzle overnight on Saturday. It will be the hose I suspect this evening.

A quiet day at home today, the only thing we have to do is to deliver DGD3 to the railway station mid afternoon so she can be collected from Ipswich station by the family who will have returned from their weekend away before then.

We don’t usually venture out on bank holidays as everywhere along the coast here gets extremely busy and we can go out and about at quieter times.

I hope today is a good one for all especially for those reflecting on sad past events and those unwell.

GrannyIvy Mon 04-May-26 08:05:03

Good morning from a grey Cambridgeshire

We have a quiet day planned today just doing a few jobs around the home and garden. We had a lovely BBQ with DD2 and family yesterday and although not warm enough to eat out my dgs2 enjoyed playing in the garden.

GM 💐

Hoping everyone has a good BH Monday 🌷

brook2704 Mon 04-May-26 08:02:05

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s a lovely sunny start to the day
Your cruise sounds lovely Ash
No special plans for today but I think we’ll go for a walk somewhere this morning, enjoy a coffee out and then do some gardening this afternoon. This evening I’m out to a dance class so looking forward to that too
gMattie ❤️
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Gingster Mon 04-May-26 08:01:34

Good morning and I’m surprised not to see the sun. It’s dreary and we did have a downpour last evening.

It’s our twin gs’s 20th birthday today. Goodness , those two decades have flown by. Lovely chaps . Tiny babies grown into handsome men. 👬. May the 4th be with them!

Gm thoughts and memories of your lovely boy will get you through the day 🙏.

Marzipan I love to see your patio. That echium peeking in, is amazing.

Baubles what a lovely thought! A rose to remember him! 🌹.

Housework today and start a new book.

Have a gentle day 🌺

Jaxjacky Mon 04-May-26 07:57:41

Morning from a dull, dry S Hants.
Lovely pictures Ashcombe thank you.
I think I’m moulting too R&L!
Yesterday was quiet, MrJ went to watch bowls, I caught up on gardening programmes, we have enough leftover gammon from dinner for sandwiches later.
No big plans today, might venture to the river for a walk, traffic will be a pain.
Wonder how pantglas is.
Have a pleasant day if you can.

Good morning from an overcast N. Bucks and it is set to stay that way.
We had a lovely weekend in Stratford on Avon. We hadn’t been there for about 30 years so much had changed. We visited Ann Hathaways cottage , Shakespeare’s birthplace, whe we watched actors portraying a couple of scenes from his play and a took a boat trip.
Today, a few jobs to do before meeting DDs 1 & 2 for lunch.
Thoughts with our poorly GNS and wishing all a good day.

Redcar Mon 04-May-26 07:44:16

Good morning everyone from mid Essex. It’s cloudy but dry and 13 degrees according to the garden thermometer. Yesterday was a good day, I think (hope) I’ve found someone to tidy my garden, and he came in the morning to discuss what I would like him to do. He’ll let me know when he can start!
Then DD2 and her family arrived for an hour or so. The granddaughters were very good and played some games together.
Today is the village May Fair, so I may wander over to the park to see what’s going on. There will be Maypole dancing if anyone can remember how to do it.

grandmattie a sad day for you. Look after yourself.

ash your cruise sounds great, thank you for the photos.

marzipan enjoy the Tate, I hope St Ives isn’t too busy!

It sounds as though lots of grans will be busy today!

I hope those who are struggling find someone relief today.

Have the best day you can everyone.

kittylester Mon 04-May-26 07:34:36

Good morning all from a dull North Leicestershire.

Our choir's first 'event' went well yesterday. And was huge fun as always.

DH was very tired after his couple of days in Cheltenham but had had a great time.

Not much going on here today so a restful day.

Gagagran Mon 04-May-26 07:33:14

Good morning all from a cool, cloudy central south coast. Think we may see an odd shower today and similarly through this week.

DH has plans to remove the dead daffodil foliage from the front garden today. He leaves it until it is brown and unsightly before taking it off, to allow the bulbs to build up energy for next spring's lovely display. Seems to work well.

In tune with his trimming, I must trim his hair too. It has kept being put back as other things crop up but is now top of my to do list.

Yesterday's slow cooker gammon was as delicious as always and there is more for today with sautéed left-over new potatoes plus an egg.

Enjoyed a chatty phone call with DS in the evening. He is planning a trip to the Isle of Man on his motor bike next week and has arranged to see all the relations over there.

The parcel of medals and WW1 memorabilia from a relative, which I have donated to his regimental museum has arrived safely. The curator has been so kind and given me lots of information that I didn't know. It has been a really satisfactory thing to do and I feel very pleased that the items will be treated with the respect they deserve.

Thinking of all our GNs with troubles of any kind and hoping for some ease and comfort for us all. sunshine

Grandmabatty Mon 04-May-26 07:31:20

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 9° and sunny. GrandMattie a difficult day for you.
Yesterday the boys and I had a lovely time. We played in the garden and played at restaurants. They both enjoyed baths and went to bed quite happy.
This morning I woke early. They came through at half six, full of nonsense. At the moment they are watching tv and a slight grumpiness has set in. Probably tiredness. However dgs1 wants a milkshake for breakfast so I will make that soon. I'll stick their yesterday's clothes in the washing machine and they should be dry before dd and dsil pick them up later this morning. Then I will tidy up. Salad for dinner, soup for lunch. Have a good day.

Grammaretto Mon 04-May-26 07:19:32

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. 7° and cloudy but hopefully it will improve as the estate agent photographer is coming at 10 including a drone. I don't want to have a video walk through and some rooms are to be out of bounds.

My friend came yesterday to help me to make things look slightly less awful. We had a few laughs and a glass of wine as we resorted to hiding things in the greenhouse or the car.

When we bought the house 46 years ago there wasn't even one photo! We didn't in those days.

It's my DS3 birthday today. He was born at home in that long hot Summer of 1976.
Both his DC are at uni. Where did the years go!

Lovely photos Ash I'm glad you are enjoying your cruise.
Sad day for you gMattie flowers
I hope you feel better soon.

Thinking of our stoic R&L , Marydoll and others and our missing posters.

Hope everyone has some joy today.

RosesandLilac Mon 04-May-26 07:18:59

Good morning, it’s dull, drizzly and cool here on the hillside in south Glos, yesterday’s thunderstorms never materialised.
Sending you love and hugs grandMattie 💐
We had gliders soaring over us yesterday, beautiful to watch. DH and DD have their glider pilots licences, I’m far too cowardly to even contemplate getting in one ( not to mention being airsickness and hating heights!) A friend of our DD’s was flying in one of them, he sent a photo of the views.
I bathed tiddler, she sulked for the afternoon, giving me the side eye (something she’s well practiced with) but needs must. She gets itchy with the pollen levels despite being on an antihistamine.
Both dogs are moulting like mad. I’m very grateful for my new cordless vacuum cleaner, so easy to use. I will give them a good brush today, it’s amazing how much fur comes out 🫣
Wishing you all a lovely day x
🌹

Marzipan22 Mon 04-May-26 07:18:47

Good morning from a brightening, blue-skyed Cornwall where I'm planning my bank holiday; methinks I'll take the train to St Ives. It'll be busy there but I'll avoid the crowds by climbing the hill behind the main seafront which leads to the Tate. There's an exhibition I'd like to see.

Yesterday was crazy, with a walk at low tide along a creek to reach my pal's chosen place for lunch. We sat in the rain under an awning and laughed and shared a meat and cheese platter. The evening get-together with my family at Wetherspoons was noisy and fun. I'll be painting with my daughter-in-law for the rest of the week so will let myself have a solo jaunt today.

My echium has reached the door and has never looked so Triffid-like but I can squeeze past to reach my patio. It's very prickly so can't be touched other than to shrug it out of the way. The flowers are an irresistible lure for bees.

Thinking of you today grandMattie. 🥀

Happy Star Wars day everyone from Lancashire.
I'll nip to my Slimming World group 1st thing, but might not stay for the full session.

DH's pal from Scouts is coming for lunch so I prepared a pie filling and a cake in advance yesterday.

Lovely photos, Ashcombe. The remind me of a holiday we took with my PiL in 1987. FiL was originally from Germany so he was able to translate for us if we were stuck, but so many of the guides were multilingual.

Hope you have a nice day GrandMattie. Your daughter could well be trying to keep you occupied today. Maybe you're keeping her occupied too, grief is so complicated. 🌸

Hope everyone has the best day possible. 🌻
