My daughter sent me flowers last weekend - in a flat box to fit in a letter box - and they’re still looking good.

Morning from a dry, cloudy S Hants, mimicking Gagagran we too had a welcome shower yesterday, but not enough and another gammon in the slow cooker!
My son has car problems so borrowed mine yesterday for the first time, I have to remember he’s 35 not a teenager. MrJ will be out to help with said car this morning, then off to watch bowls.
I randomly scattered seeds yesterday before the rain, sometimes it works, other times not.
Happy cruising Ash, enjoy your cycling Mick may be all have a peaceful Sunday.

Good morning all from a wet North Leicestershire.

Yesterday was interesting as DS2 has gone to visit Shrewsbury where he was born. He was 2 when we left so remembers little of it. He bombarded us with lovely, memory evoking photos. He will no doubt do the same today when he is going to visit the village we lived in.

Today, my choir is singing at 2 outdoor venues in town - why does it always rain?

Dh, in Cheltenham, got soaked as he watched some outdoor performances.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Morning all from West Oxfordshire.

We may pop over to a local Farmers Market later. We haven’t been for a while,

OH said he would cook dinner tonight as I’ve cooked three nights in a row! We will have gammon and a selection of vegetables. I said I would make a pudding as I always do on a Sunday. It will be either chocolate or lemon based.

I had a nice chat with younger son last night. He lives in Brixton and I was a bit anxious as there had been a shooting. He reckoned it was gang related.

So, have a good Sunday. I hope all went well yesterday for FGT2.

Good morning everyone from mid Essex, where it’s cloudy and mild. Yesterday’s light rain has dried up, I think there may be the chance of a shower later today.
DD1 and family came over in the afternoon and it was warm and sunny so we sat in the garden all afternoon, the 7 year old brought her balance bar with her and was practising a routine on it on the lawn.
DD2 may come today, depending on other commitments.
I have someone coming to look at my garden this morning to see if he is prepared to do some maintenance for me.

fgt I hope your family meal was enjoyable yesterday, despite the inevitable sadness. I hope it was comforting to have some of your family staying the night with you afterwards.

Have as good a day as is possible everyone. Thoughts as ever to those who are struggling with life’s challenges at the moment.

Gagagran Sun 03-May-26 07:22:06

Good Morning all from the central south coast where it is 13 degrees and we are forecast another shower or two. The heavy rain spell we had yesterday was most welcome after a dry April.

I have just put a gammon joint in the slow cooker which will be the main meal today and provide cold cuts in the coming week. I find the slow cooker so easy and the results are always delicious.

I have to give DH a hair cut this morning - he is looking a bit shaggy and it doesn't take long once I get organised. Nothing else on the agenda apart from a possible visit from DD.

Thinking of all with troubles of any kind and hope for a better day with some comfort and ease. sunshine

Good morning from a grey W Kent. A visit from DD2 cheered us up yesterday. She is busy with the school Nay Day events, the PTA has lots of members but few happy to do the work.
Today chat to DB and then lunch and quiet afternoon
Best wishes to all

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. It is damp and atmospheric.

I'm relieved that the house photos are happening tomorrow and not today.

Yesterday my friend helped me to tackle rearranging the piles of stuff.

She took a load to charity and met and brought back a couple of men friends who shifted boxes of books away from the hall.

It looks much better but my back aches.

Quaker Meeting here this morning.
I agree Bellasnanna I believe that sport should transcend politics.

The wedding sounds lovely Baubles enjoy the film later.

It's I swear at the community cinema tonight. Our town is hosting a group from our twin town in France so yesterday's open house café with its French conversation table was boosted yesterday .

Thinking of all with troubles and worry.

I hope everyone has some joy today.

Good morning from s somerset, bland weather today, dull and maybe light shower this afternoon

My poisonous lily of the valley are showing invasive tendencies now, after four years so I started the process of elimination this morning. They will all have to go, the flowers are lovely but not worth the risk, trouble or danger to others. They started to come up through gravel and it would be pavers next

I had a very lazy day yesterday and will be more active today but first my large lovely mug of tea beckons, I have to use my china mug, tea tastes so much nicer

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 9° and wet.
Yesterday I picked my friend and we went for breakfast to the garden centre. We were just starting our cooked breakfast when dd, dsil and the boys appeared. The boys immediately came over for hugs. Dgs1 was very happy because his team won all their matches. Dgs2 was happy because he managed to jump in the pool unaided at his swimming lesson. After breakfast I brought my friend to my house to see the newish decor. She was impressed with the changes. After a cuppa, I took her home. Ds sent me a photo that he also had been out for breakfast.
In the afternoon, I did some housework and then had a tesco delivery. The driver is such a lovely man from Portugal.
Today I will make leek and potato soup. I have a surfeit of leeks, having ordered too many. This afternoon the boys are coming for a sleepover as dd and dsil have a wedding. I have ordered all their favourite foods so I expect they will be eating all afternoon! Then both of them will want a bath later. Apparently my bath is the best. Have a good day all.

Good morning from damp South Lanarkshire.

The wedding reception was enjoyable, the bride, who is very petite, looked like a Disney Princess doll. We sat with another couple who live near us and had a pleasant evening chatting with them.

This evening I’m going to the cinema with DD and DGD2 to see the Devil Wears Prada which will be fun and frothy I’m sure.

Hope everyone has a good day.

Good morning from Malta where it’s to be a partly cloudy day with a high of 21°C.

I enjoyed coffee and a chat with my lovely friend yesterday. Then went home and stripped the bed, including the mattress protector, and proceeded to do laundry all day. I removed the blanket as it’s too warm now, and changed the bedspread to a new one. It’s never cold enough to need a duvet.

Watched the Ladies tennis final from Madrid. The winner was from Ukraine and her opponent from Russia so there was no handshake, no mention of her in the speech and no photos together. I can’t help feeling politics should not be brought into sports. It was uncomfortable to watch, especially as the poor lass who lost was in tears.😞

Had a long chat with DD2 and DGD on FaceTime. DGD was getting ready for her prom. She looked absolutely gorgeous but so grown up it made me wonder how she grew up so fast.

Today I will go to Mass, have a FaceTime chat with my pal in Leicester and watch the Men’s Final later, hoping Jannik Sinner will win.

RosesandLilac, I love dahlias, they remind me of my dear late brother-in-law who grew beautiful ones. Please will you put photographs when they flourish.😊

Wishing a peaceful Sunday to all. ☀️

Good morning from a dawning Bristol. I think we shall have more rain, after yesterday’s showers.
Looks like you will have a lovely day with the cycling, Mick.
I did the church cleaning before coffee, but left early as I was tired. It suddenly came to me why I’m so tired this week, it’s the Covid jab side effects. I normally feel unwell, but I’ve never had this week long exhaustion.
I did very little in the afternoon; dinner was from the freezer, one of my lucky dips. I don’t label my boxes!
Church today, then potter again.
Ash, I’m glad you’re enjoying your cruise, sounds lovely, fgt, I hope you enjoyed your celebration meal, despite the inevitable tears. 💐to those with difficulties.
Carpe diem, have a blessed Sunday ✝️ 🦩🦩🦩🦩

RosesandLilac Sun 03-May-26 05:25:50

Good morning, it’s dampish here in south Glos, we had a couple of hours of steady rain yesterday afternoon which was very welcome, there’s more forecast for today.
I spent an hour messing around in the garden, sorting out my plants waiting for me to put them in the borders. I will do that this week.
My dahlias are showing signs of growth 👏, I have very mixed results with growing them.
Roast chicken for dinner, I’ll have salad with mine but I will do roast potatoes for DH.
Best wishes to everyone x
