Personally I am not and avoid sitting in the Sun, it just makes me feel uncomfortable. Then again I don't like extremely cold weather and prefer the temperatures in Spring and Autumn. How about you is Summer and high temperatures something that you like or loathe?

No. I've had one melatoma removed and don't really want to encourage any more.

M0nica Sat 02-May-26 18:03:47

No, it brings me out in cold blisters.

I like warm weather - up to around 25 degrees. I cannot sit in the sun for long, though, because I am very fair skinned and burn easily. I never tan, either. When I was young and foolish I even managed the feat of sunstroke in Birmingham.

I am definitely a summer person I love the long warm sunny days pottering in my garden and bbq’s.

No, I loathe it.
I moan all through the summer.
This kind of weather as it is now is my ideal.

Are you all following the thread about skin cancer?
Never mind about that drink that gives you wings. Too much sun certainly gives you wrinkles.😂.. and unfortunately more.

Malignant melanoma has made me very unwilling to be out in the sun. - stable doors and bolted horses though.

I don’t hate it - just don’t like it baking hot. I haven’t the patience to sit in it for long like some. Today - warm but overcast - is ideal for working outside, and walking. I was a November baby and have always preferred the autumn.

I hate winter and so enjoy getting out and about at this time of year when there is so much light.
However, this year I have been struck with raging hay fever and now have to stay indoors.
It's infuriating!

Oh no Keepingquiet, that's horrible for you. A tip for next year though, I always recommend friends to take a spoon of local (and it really must be local) honey every day from January.
I've pleased to say it has worked for most!

BlueBelle Sat 02-May-26 15:46:51

Yes, yes, yes Sun all the way I ve just spent 2 hours sitting in it, pure bliss

I don't like hot weather. I burn easily and have never had a tan. I'm fair-skinned with freckles. I much prefer spring and autumn.

I love the sun but I now respect it. I spent 3 years in the Far East in the late 60’s and early 70’s as an army brat worshipping the sun daily.
I’ve been paying for it periodically over the past 25 years.

Casdon Sat 02-May-26 15:04:47

Yes, I love the sun, it makes the day shine too. I wear factor 50 though, and a hat. The best feeling is drinking my coffee outside first thing in the morning, knowing it’s going to be a beautiful day.

No, much prefer colder more moody skies and by the time June is over I'm counting down till Autumn! Love Winter.

Me too!

Doodledog Sat 02-May-26 14:59:39

I'm more of an indoor than outdoor type. I never sunbathe or sit outside for the sake of it. If I'm outdoors it's because I'm going to or from somewhere. I find doing nothing difficult, and even simple things like reading are difficult when the sun's in your eyes. Knitting is tricky when yarn keeps falling to the floor and the pattern is flapping in the wind.

I find eating outside irritating, particularly outside of a cafe or restaurant. There are insects/wasps buzzing around, your food gets cold quickly, people wander by - I'd rather be at home or inside the premises, and cooking outside is a nightmare.

I love be the spring sunshine, I’m sat outside at the moment. Too hot in the summer even under a parasol for me and DH.

Harris27 Sat 02-May-26 14:14:14

My husband loved to sit in the sun till I noticed a mole misshapen. He doesn’t sit much in the sun now unless covered up. I’m a under the sunshade kind of girl!

nanna8 Sat 02-May-26 14:08:18

No, skin cancers are rife here and I have had a couple just through everyday living without deliberately sunbaking. We get a lot is sunshine which is lovely but it has its bad side.

I love sunshine and blue skies, but am careful after chemotherapy and a recent removal of seborrhoeic keratoses caused by sun damage. I don't like the very high summer temperatures we have had the last couple of years, but after this long grey winter the wamth and brightness is welcome.. but I am not a "sun worshipper" that always conjures up the picture of brown wrinkled leathery skins.
