On a serious note regarding the Nigeria scam……my late FIL fell for it, nothing to do with marriage but the sender did promise a van full of cash if FIL sent money to get the money released.
FIL sent thousands of pounds, and wouldn’t listen to any reasoning from family that it wasn’t genuine. He died in debt and with a hefty overdraft.

That's so sad 😔 .

Well…….I had an email from a prince in Nigeria no less! He claimed to love me deeply and his government wouldn’t let him leave his country, withheld all his considerable wealth and if I sent him some money he could fly to my home and we could be together! Top that! 😂😂😂

I can't top that but I did have a Prince who was in a refugee camp who had millions but needed a bank account to put it in. If I'd send him my bank details he'd put his I think it was 10 million and he'd let me have 3 million for helping him. I obviously ignored it but then he sent another begging because there was no food or water (but Internet access )in the refugee camp and was desperate.
I've also had an offer of marriage on facebook.

I'm heartbroken! I had this email, too and I was so happy. I thought that my mother was correct after all. She told me that some day my prince would come!
But it turns out he's two-timing me. However will I recover from this disappointment? 😭

OF course it's a scam. You only need to read the first 5 words when you read his name, minus a capital letter on the surname!

I regularly get follow requests and private messages on Instagram claiming to be from Prince William, Keanu Reeves, Elton Moosk, or whatever the idiot's stupid name is, and a whole load of other fake profiles!

I delete, block and report!

I've had a prince with several gold mines who wanted to make me rich and some random man who just wanted to get to know me.
I'm a cynical soul and believe nothing without proof.

All I’ve had recently is a random wanting to chat because I’ve got a cool vibe going on. Which is of course true. He’s obviously read my sick comments on the Corrie thread.

I'm with you, M0nica - no contact from Elon, no wins in draws: how disappointing. Even my Nigerian prince,
who was, of course , going to give me some of his money locked up in a British account, seems to have deserted me.

I too received an email from Elon himself, but mine informed me that I had won one million dollars in a random draw!

I’m still waiting so I thought about trying to contact his chum, Donald Trump via his Truth Social account to ask if he would give me Elon’s mobile phone number!
