Good morning everyone from another bright and sunny 🌞 day in Northampton.

Thank you for all the birthday wishes for yesterday; not wishing to spend the day alone indoors I took myself out for lunch. Imagine the surprise I had when after my main course, staff appeared.with a cake and candle!🎂

And then yesterday evening a neighbour turned up at my door with a bottle of wine which we proceeded to drink half of 🍷🍷!

Not sure about today - I have so many outstanding jobs to do about the house I am not sure what to start with! I will probably end up doing none of them....
I hope to join my walking group this afternoon.

Good morning from a sunny Suffolk with,I suspect,a chilly wind. I’m meeting one of my closest friend for a walk and lunch at the coast where we normally buy fish and chips( pensioners’ specials) and walk a few yards from the shop to a seat overlooking the sea.

If there is a chilly wind there we may rethink our plan. There are several indoor places along the coast we can walk to,including a well known pub,so plenty of choice.

Our get togethers always last at least 3 hours and include lots of laughter as well as serious discussions….a real tonic for both of us.

Morning from high cloud in S Hants, 5, yesterday the sun gave way to cloud late afternoon, voluntary phone was averagely busy.
MrJ is pricing a small job this morning and playing bowls early evening, I’ll go for a local walk, need to sort a couple of birthday cards and decide on dinner.

Good morning from Leicestershire. We haven’t had kitty’s rain yet but it looks ominous up the hill.

Not much planned today so shall do some dead heading in the garden.
I ordered some socks from T.K.Maxx so if they come in I will pop down.

Good morning Mick and all from a mild calm Morecambe Bay where today promises to be warm and sunny. Not that the weather here will affect me as we are off to a campsite at Slatterford on our way to Burnham on Sea where we are meeting a friend. Her DH died in February, so I promised her we would head down as soon as the weather improved.
En route today we will call at a little village where my great grandparents lived before they relocated to Manchester. I’m hoping their cottage is still there. I have photos of it taken in the 1940s.
I have been up a while this morning and have made and cooked a cheese and mushroom flan and some soup to take with us. I should have done it yesterday but the day disappeared under a pile of other tasks. The good news yesterday was DS has had his mortgage approved. I’m very relieved but DS is to quote him ‘scared’. The first mortgage application was rejected on affordability, but the second rejection was on the valuation which didn’t make any sense at all. However third time lucky. So at least I can relax for a couple of days before we start the next step of getting insurances etc.

Good morning from Shropshire.Dull at the moment but should brighten up later.

We had a lovely time with DGS1 yesterday.He has a good sense of humour and was on good form yesterday.I walked to school to collect him then we walked to the pub for our evening meal.I was tired when we got home and slept for nine hours straight which is unknown.

We have a window cleaner coming this morning to give a quote for cleaning the windows, sills and conservatory.DH usually does it but a lot going on so we will get help with some things.

Good morning everyone from south Manchester where its dry and some sunshine later today is forecast.

Today is apparently National Tea Day ☕️ and I’m currently enjoying my first mug of the day in bed.

I need to nip into the larder below after my shower and hair wash as my fridge is bare - literally - only enough milk to have a second brew so I’ll have toast for breakfast with the matchbox size piece of butter that’s in the dish! 😂

No real plans today. After yesterday’s busyness a nice pottering day will suit me fine.

DH is going to the audiologist this morning. His hearing in company is worse since his last visit.

The new cleaner who came yesterday seemed lovely but her quote was ridiculously high. The search goes on. I might actually have to do something myself, especially as a friend is coming for tea this afternoon.

I’ve a longish volunteering session this morning so I’ll not get chance to go the gym but it’s good to have a change and I enjoy the volunteering just as much. After that I’ll probably do a bit of shopping, maybe get a coffee out somewhere and then get the bus home mid afternoon.

Good morning everyone from mid Essex. It’s sunny, dry and 6 degrees out. Yesterday’s bright start didn’t last and we had lots of clouds but no rain.
I had my Covid booster in the morning then had another walk in the afternoon. For the first time I had a bad reaction to the vaccine, sore arm, feverish and a disturbed night, with aching limbs! I had planned to go to the garden centre this morning, but not sure I’ll go.

grandmattie a shame that the WI is being so inflexible. I hope that you are able to continue meeting independently from the WI.

bellasnana you must be relieved that the digging has finished, hopefully the installation of the pipes and the filling in of the trench will be quieter!

Good morning from a beautiful clear blue day in Cornwall. I revamped my tiny patio yesterday, moving the swing seat, relocating the heavy plant pots, making space so that I can bring some plants back from my allotment for the memories. The birds are so tame. Even the blackbirds were near me. You can see that they all have babies up in the wild wood. Curiously, the gulls are absent. The wood pigeons have plucked the choice twigs off the top of my corkscrew hazel for their nests but it will recover.

Today my lungs are much better so I'm going to help my daughter-in-law at her new bungalow. She has ME and is coping brilliantly with all that needs to be done. Her carpets arrive tomorrow so we need to get on with painting walls.

Good morning from Torbay where it’s bright but windy.

My knees are rather grumpy from the exercise class yesterday, but it was good to see everyone, especially the bubbly lady who runs it.

I’m sad to read of these divisions in the WI groups, but I’m glad your group is going to keep going and it might be all the happier for it grandMattie.

I read somewhere that it was beneficial to drink plenty of water first thing before you have your first tea or coffee in the morning Bellasnana so I’ve been trying that. Apparently, it helps to rehydrate all the organs that have been without moisture overnight so perhaps that would work better for you than drinking as much water during the day.

How very sad for your masseuse, Melanie61. Some people have crosses to bear but it’s admirable that she is managing to pursue her living, nevertheless.

Good morning from the east coast and it’s going to be bright but chilly.

The DGC were all wonderful yesterday when we looked after them. GS had a good day at school and was perfect at ours and the little ladies were as funny as ever. They are sharing a bedroom for now until GD2s new bedroom is created. She’s in the half of the house that is under renovation so they are loving that and it was chaos.

Today we are busy with mum and uncle but on the way we are visiting our best friend. It will be tough as he’s mostly sleeping now and isn’t eating. His only meds are morphine. It will he the hardest goodbye. That will be the last time we ever see him I think 💔

My heart goes out to virtual friends suffering grief and sadness.

Today I am cycling to my allotment and maybe further if I feel inclined.

Thank you, batty. We had the whole programme ready for the WI year, so apart from missing April, we are starting a new independent group, identical to WI, with a very keen membership, on the same day, in the same venue!
What was so sad was the whole silly business and the behaviour of the federation officials, and the National organisation. I know many of other Avon federations are being suspended and understand the this rebellion is sadly nationwide.

I am meeting a friend for coffee this morning. Actually it’s a banana milk shake from McDonald’s . A bit of a guilty pleasure

I have a lady who comes to my home who does massages at 12.
Last year she tragically lost her husband in a traffic accident. They had just got married and have a small child. So terrible . This will be the first time I have seen her since then. She started work again in school time but I worked full time so it was difficult to see her. Now I work part time I can see her. She does a proper Swedish massage

I then have WI this evening. We have a houseplant doctor giving us a talk.

Yesterday was a good day. The boys were on good form and well behaved. Dgs2 was very happy to be back at nursery. Lots of drawing happening afterwards. I did half an hour tidying in the school library too.Then an early night for me.
Today I'll bring them back to my house for breakfast- honey nut flakes and a croissant for dgs1 and chocolate chip pancakes for dgs2. Then I'll take them to school. Once I've dropped them off, I will tidy the kitchen, a neverending task. I'm not sure what else I will do till I pick the boys up. Some pottering i think. I will make a slow cooker pot of mince and vegetables which will do me a couple of days. Have a good day all

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from South Yorkshire where it is six degrees but feels colder. Supposed to be a bright dry day today.

Yesterday I had another session with the chiropractor who is very thorough. I have more confidence in her than I had in the NHS physios, and I think she may have the answer to my troublesome hip but it’s not going to be a five minute job.

Today I have an empty as the school has mock SATS going on and have suggested that as space will be at a premium, I have the day off rather than be crammed into some unsuitable location. I’ll do laundry this morning and then have a walk around our country park this afternoon and take my camera (which will give me an excuse to stand still occasionally!).
