Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. I was woken by the sun streaming in but also by my alarm!
I was looking forward to a longer lie in.

The lino cutting class was good fun yesterday. I don't think I had done it since childhood. Here are some of the class results.

The people who had made pots a few weeks ago came to glaze them in the afternoon. That's about all I did yesterday.

I must sort DH's books today in preparation for a specialist coming tomorrow and do a reccie for a walk I'm supposed to help lead next month.
I fear it goes through a field of bulls.

Sorry about your DH Gingster. I hope you get to the bottom of it.
Don't do too much Roses. Take things easy and sit in your lovely "shed".
I hope the Marydoll family have a less exciting day!
A peaceful Sunday everyone.

Morning, we have wind forecast again today, as it was yesterday.
Roses good things are moving forward.
Worrying for you both Gingster I hope some answers are forthcoming soon.
I had a quiet day yesterday, MrJ played a bowls match and picked up his rather loud ‘uniform’ for the summer season.
My son said he’d call in later with his girlfriend.

Good Morning from London. We head home back up the east coast today.
We had a super day yesterday. We all went to Battersea power station for a look around and loved it. I bought a cream box jacket from Uniglo for my flight to China. We had a lovely lunch where our cousin’s son joined us again. The power station area and shopping mall are fantastic as many of you will know and another great space for London.

Last night we all went to a magic experience at Kennington. It’s down a normal looking street to a normal looking house but once you are through a little gate oh my gosh! None of us knew what to expect. It was wonderful about 50 people cramming in someone’s house. It was like the Adams family haunted house. We all had our allocated tables. There were lots of activities to explore, a fully stocked bar, a haunted cellar tour and a two course dinner. The meal wasn’t ideal for me as a coeliac though with cross contamination. There was cake on my bowl of fruit. 🤦
Magicians came to the tables with close up magic. At nine o’clock on the little stage the magic show and it was amazing and hilarious. One of the best experiences we’d all ever had. I can thoroughly recommend.

Today we are all meeting at King’s Cross to have a couple of hours chilling over drinks and a light lunch before we part ways for our trains. I never realised how much I was in need of a really good laugh but this weekend has been such a great tonic. It will be hard leaving my sister today.

Roses💐🌺
Thoughts to all those feeling poorly sad and stressed today💐
Hoping there are moments of joy in your day 🌼

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s a dry sunny start to the day
Hoping things improve for your DH soon Gingster 💐
Well done with getting all your jobs done grandmabatty much better than me !
I’m late getting up this morning after a really enjoyable evening out with the line dancing crowd. The local village hall was full, the kitchen there was busy with self service teas, coffees etc. and we had a great time. Today I’ve a video call with DS but nothing else planned so hoping for a restful day except I might get a bit of gardening done if it stays dry.
Pleased you’ve got a date now roses and your DH will drive you, take care
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Good morning from a bright and sunny Suffolk, sadly not forecast to last much longer. It is DGD5’s 9th birthday today. She is our youngest and,as with all of them, every birthday, remember the excitement when they were born.

She lives nearly 200 hundred miles away so we won’t be seeing her today but will speak after her party this afternoon. It is a ‘pamper’ party for 5 friends involving DD tells us, a bright pink caravan on their drive for 2 hours. She,of course,is super excited.

Hope today is the best it can be for all and Gingster some progress is made on finding out the reason for your DH’s illness and effective treatment planned.

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from South Yorkshire where it is bright and breezy at the moment. I think the forecast is for rain at some stage. I slept well for a change.

DS is coming down to spend the day with me today. I made a chicken curry yesterday which we will eat for lunch with all the usual accompaniments. Hopefully, if the rain holds off, we will get a walk in before he goes home.

Have the best day you can folks.

Good morning everyone from a bright and sunny 🌞 Northampton, but feeling chilly.so have put the heating on.

Yesterday brightened up, but there was a really strong breeze. I managed my trip to the garden centre where I picked.up and tried on my new sandals - they are a lovely shade of orange, according to the blurb it's nectarine! I then had a coffee and toasted.teacake before having a browse around the garden centre. I was tempted by some walking boots in the outdoor-wear franchise, as I've noticed my current ones about 15 years old are showing signs of wear, but I think they'll do a few more walks yet.

Then popped into Waitrose next door where the only thing that I bought was another bunch of daffodils.

Out to lunch today - a family get-together for my birthday next week- this is the nearest date to it that everyone was free to gather. We are going to a fairly new Greek restaurant in town - I shall probably.have Moussaka which I love.

Wishing all a pleasant Sunday.

Good morning all, from a cloudy Glasgow, where it is 7°C.

I hope *Mr Gingster is making some progress and pleased to hear, your DD is feeling slightly better, Bella.

Babydoll ♥️ is 3yrs old today.
I remember the day she was born. We were holidaying in St.Andrew's with Dollie and her family, when DS2 phoned. He rarely phones, so I knew something was wrong.
He said something about my granddaughter, I said she was sitting beside me, we were playing a word game, No mum, your other granddaughter! 👶. Cue floods of tears, she had come early.♥️

I was about to send a birthday wish, when I realised DH had already sent her a birthday wish, apologising for not being able to come to her party.
He also sent a video of him singing Happy birthday to her.
He can forget the recording deal, unless he is auditioning to be a frog. 🤣
This is so unlike him, he has never done anything so sentimental in his life. and is so upset, that he cannot go to her party. 😪

He continues to be difficult, His mood swings are so hard to deal with, one moment pleasant, the next, quite hurtful.
The consultant explained that, until we get his BP down, his brain will continue to be affected.
I ended up in tears yesterday, when he said I was to blame for his BP, not coming down, due to my constant nagging! I replied, Ditto!
When I said, mine was nearly as high as his, due to his behaviour, he responded with, It is not a competition. 🤬
About an hour later, he was a totally different person and had checked his BP, just to reassure me!!

I felt totally exhausted yesterday, by the time I went to Mass. When I went to sit down, someone was in my usual seat ( how dare they??), with no sign of Dollie and her parents.
The mum of the family, who usually sit in front of us, beckoned to come into their seat and asked where everyone was.
I said, I was all alone, today. She responded; Come and sit with us, we'll adopt you.. I could feel my eyes filling up.
DH is quite chuffed that people were asking, where he was and he has become part of the parish clique. He is not a social animal,at all.
GM, I do not shake hands either, because I'm immunosuppressed. Not many do. At weekday Mass, people wave to each other, 🤣 I find it quite amusing.

Refusing to cook last night, I went for fish suppers after Mass. No salt for DH. He was not happy at all.
Just as I got out of the car, I heard, Gran, Gran. It was my beloved Dollie.♥️ Oh joy!
She and DS were going the same place as me.
DS, who can be quite distant with me, was very attentive. It gave us a chance to talk about DH.
I said I would be taking him to the doctor's on Friday and had to cancel my day out with DD (for the third time,)
He said he would take his dad to the surgery. I was stunned, he was in the office, before 7am on Friday and is overwhelmed by his workload.
The pair of them walked me to my car and then I heard a voice, coming from the other side of the road.
I LOVE YOU GRAN!, followed by, Love you too mum! 😭

DH brought me a cuppa and hot water bottle at 7am and told me he had taken his BP, it was very high..😔 He can't sleep, This is Good cop, behaviour.
I'm going downstairs, I need to pick up his Sunday papers.
I will probably encounter, Bad cop on the way. His behaviour is so unpredictable.

I wish you all a pleasant Sunday, whatever your plans.
Once again, thank you for all your good wishes, it means a great deal to me, ♥️

Good morning everyone.

D1 and GD1 came to stay on Friday. A watery sun appeared but with a cold breeze. DH drove us into Bath for lunch. Afterwards we deposited him on a bench so we could mooch round the shops which is something he hates. Had dinner at home in the evening. The following day they managed to call in on D2 as traffic wasn’t too bad. It was so lovely to see them.

I’m sorry your DH is being so recalcitrant about taking his medication Marydoll. It must be exhausting. Best wishes for your DH Gingster I hope he is sorted out quickly. And to your DH Sar- I hope his eye improves rapidly.

Have a good Sunday all.

Good morning from cloudy Lancashire. I am still in bed, finishing my breakfast. Just popped in to see if MrMDoll is behaving himself. I need to get a move on, we are going for our usual walk as soon as I’m up and dressed.

Good morning everyone from south Manchester where it’s changeable at best. There was sunshine half an hour ago but now it’s grey and the wind’s got up again. Brr!

I’m off out in a couple of hours delighted and ridiculously grateful to be invited by my brother in law (my wingman of old) and his wife for a run out to a garden centre (I don’t even have a garden like they do but who cares? Garden centres are like mini department stores these days!). There’s a good cafe apparently so we will eat together too. Just what I need today. Company and a complete change of scenery. I’m very fortunate to be asked along.

glammagran Sun 12-Apr-26 09:10:50

Wishing Babydoll a lovely 3rd birthday. 🎂

Good morning all.
I read this thread every morning but rarely comment but I thought I’d just pass on that I’m thinking of all who have trials and tribulations presently.
MD my husband behaved very similar to yours and was in denial for a few months that he was even poorly as it didn’t fit with his ‘Im never ill’ view of himself.
He was frightened really I think and after he’d had his aortic valve replaced the penny finally dropped, however he wouldn’t accept that the many medications he was now having to take were literally for life. I realised he was skipping them now and again and eventually gave him the ultimatum of it was his choice- accept he’d have to take them and be able to live his life and hopefully see his grandchildren grow up, or, not take them with the inevitable consequence which would follow. I was fed up of nagging him every day like you would a child.
He did listen to my rant and decided to be sensible. He still whinges about it now and then but I can ignore that! x

Good morning from a sunny but very windy NE yet again.
Yesterday had a wonderful few hours with both GDs, eldest is very chatty.
GD 2 was doing homework and played the piano too.
After an early dinner DS drove the girls to the theatre picking up a friend on the way.

Today is a quiet day with some admin. No need to cook from scratch as there are enough leftovers from yesterday.
Thoughts are with poorly people and their carers.

Grandmabatty Sun 12-Apr-26 09:25:43

A very happy birthday to Baby doll. I hope she has a lovely day

Ladyleftfieldlover Sun 12-Apr-26 09:32:07

Morning all from a beautifully sunny West Oxfordshire. Blue skies and a slight breeze.

Church this morning in a nearby village. Since I stopped attending the church which I can see from my house (long story) and began attending a nearby Benefice with SEVEN churches, it’s a different church each week.

I will cook chicken casserole for dinner and I fancy making the tiny rich chocolate cake again which I made for Easter.

Good luck with Mr MD! At least you got him to see a Doctor. My OH reckons he has several ailments - he is being treated for one or two, but others he simply doesn’t want to know about!

Have a good day everyone.

hollysteers Sun 12-Apr-26 10:16:21

Good morning from a bright northwest coast.
I dropped a big bag of jumble off at our local charity shop and found blank cards and envelopes for my card making, plus a couple of other things. Whilst paying for them, someone either related or a friend of the server, plonked her stuff on top of mine, stepping in front of me. This confused the server, and I said “You might have waited until I was served!” She slunk off…honestly, manners🙄

DD drove up from the south early evening, changed and I dropped her off for a night out with her childhood friend. Such energy. I didn’t envy her on a wild wet night and enjoyed staying in with the cat on my lap.

She brought flowers and chocolates, which I demolished pretty quickly. I’m trying not to buy biscuits, cake and chocolates, but enjoyed them.
Bits and bobs today and thoughts to all the poorlies.🌺
Lovely lino cuts Grammaretto.

I have only just realised I haven’t posted so Good afternoon to all.
We had a disturbed night with my Autistic but very bright and cunning GS being found on his computer at 3am.
His dad read the riot act but it woke my GD and me up and we couldn’t get back to sleep.
I have forbidden him to use his computer today, he will be very upset and awkward but…..
My GD and her BF have gone to Wembley to see our local team play in some Cup Match.
It will be a long day for them but they are looking forward to the experience.
Changeable weather here but I’m in all day so no problem.
