We don’t know the extent of their involvement or otherwise yet. We can’t assume they were innocent until the facts are gone through. Even then, there seems a determination to portray them as innocent. I wonder what their husbands are thinking.

World falling apart around you? Ex-husband arrested? Here's the answer
(162 Posts)I've started a new thread because the existing AMW thread is dealing with the loftier side of things.
"I haven't got any money" seems to be a phrase that means different things to different folk.
It's reported that allegedly, Sarah Ferguson is experiencing deep personal trauma. Apparently homeless and with no known source of regular income she has ...
"...spent a few days with friends in the French Alps and is now thought to be in the United Arab Emirates".
Life's a bitch isn't it?
Sarah Ferguson may well have had many rich friends but I doubt if she will see much of them in her future.
I find it difficult to have much sympathy for a woman who when her world, based on that of her ex-husband who did his best, albeit dishonestly, to help her clear her debts, is collapsing around he , seeks refuge in a ridiculously over-priced sanitorium.
Someone is going to have pay that bill, and it won't be her.
The whole York family seem to have absolutely no idea how to read the room. How to accurately gauge public opinion.
Princess Eugenie posting photos of their "family" half term break skiing in Gstaad. One of the top end resorts, of course.
And their Nanny accompanied them. Of course she did. It must be beyond their capabilities to go on a half-term family break and actually look after their own children. Devote just a week to their young children when clearly their demanding jobs (?) don't leave them time to do so. Too busy commuting between their grace and favour/peppercorn rent Nottingham Cottage home and their presumably free home in Portugal in the top of the market enclave her husband promotes. Popping off to an art exhibition in Dubai representing the gallery of which the Princess is a director, whose role is to introduce wealthy clients.
I have tried to feel a little bit of sympathy for the York Princesses, but I have to say that the apple doesn't fall from the tree.
Good post ferry. That’s what I meant about putting up two fingers. They are rubbing our noses in it and if they can’t see that, then they are even more stupid than they already seem.
My sister’s world fell apart when her husband died very suddenly, leaving her with young children and their joint bank account frozen. I’m sure we all know of similar tragedies.
SarahFerguson’s troubles are largely her own fault and on a different scale.
Well said ferry.
The two young women are old enough to have a clearer view of the negative influences from their parents
They’d be wise to keep low profiles
Andrew Lownie's suggestion that they both voluntarily relinquish their titles and go and live somewhere out of the public eye is, for me, the best compromise and most sensible.
I think the British public are sick to death of all the ridicule and embarrassment that their parents have brought upon the country and I can't imagine anyone being sorry if we never hear of them again. Whilst I think there's an element of blame by association with regard to their daughters, I'm afraid I don't believe they're squeaky clean. They may not be at the centre of the tangled web woven by their parents, but they're certainly on the outer perimeter.
Frequent, extravagant holidays, gifts of expensive jewellery and goodness know what else seems to have been their normal lifestyle.
They both have wealthy husbands, I'm sure an address book that's like the Yellow Pages of the wealthy, so wherever they are, they won't be going hungry.

Just because people are better off than we are and have a commensurate life style does not mean they are sticking their finges up to people.
The incomes of GN members are clearly very varied. if people write about cruise holidays, buying clothes or going to Waitrose are they doing it to cock a snook at poorer GN members. Some of the post above reek of envy rather than a measured judgment.

Yes, I agree.
Families differ, incomes differ, lifestyles differ.
However, I wonder who is funding Sarah's stay at the retreat?
I think it's OK to feel envy really. It's a natural emotion.
I certainly don't feel envious of any of them In fact I'd be absolutely mortified if I were one of them. There is nothing they do or have that makes me envious of them, I would hate to live such a vacuous and money driven life tbh

And not you either ferry - absolutely agree.
Lol Tuliptree, I have actually been to Gstaad! But I have no need of a Nanny thank you. Nor a husband, wealthy or otherwise. I have plenty of very nice jewellery and I've travelled extensively and visited some amazing places. I didn't, however, have an 18th birthday party at Windsor Castle with a collection of at the very least, some very dubious characters and at worse guests who were criminals and sexual predators. On reflection, I'm not envious of that either 😄
I’m still cogitating on what accusing people of envy says. It’s such a lazy argument at best and at worst just profoundly empty and stupid. I’m not saying people can’t or don’t feel envy in some situations - atm I’m very envious of anyone sitting by a pool in warm climes drinking a cocktail - but to say a criticism of B/E reeks of envy is just well - more than a bit silly.
I meant envious of people with more money, rather than the RF itself.roles.
Resentment of anyone not living in abject poverty seems to be a trope on GN. This despite the fact that the vast majority of GN members are not on the breadline and never have been.
The children and grandchildren of Princess Margaret, Princess Anne, the Kents and the Gloucesters have managed to live private, independent lives despite having parents and grandparents who are princes. and princesses. No reason why Beatrice and Eugenie cannot do the same, once the fuss has died down. i doubt if they will feature much in royal events.

Seriously? How do you know how much money I might have? Or if I care much about money?
The year before last I had an accident which deprived me of much of my mobility. I'm envious of my peers who can still walk - down to the letter box, around the supermarket, or up a hill.
I'm afraid you need to find someone far more shallow than I to castigate and judge on social media M0nica.

It has been rumored that it was Sarah that introduced Andrew to Epstein, that her lifestyle was funded by Epstein. Because the association was long term she may well know an awful lot about Epstiens connections in the Middle East they will keep her very safe.
Just rumours, but from a reliable source?
Not actual evidence?

As a substantial tax payer I don't mind tax revenue being used to help those that need it and it's the government to decide who gets help. What I do resent is tax revenue being spent on those that do not need help, there are many on this site that are getting state benefits that do not need them.
It's crippling the economy, too many are taking too much out of the economy, nobody wants to put more effort to improve the productivity of the country.
That's the fault with democracy, politician's give more away than we earn to get votes, every government does it, borrows more, sells off assets, at least Starmer is trying to balance the books but Im expecting him to fail and if the loony left get power it will get much worse..
I agree with you, eazybee. It would seem diplomatic for Beatrice and Eugenie to simply maintain a low profile from now on as the children of Princess Anne and Prince Edward seem to have managed to do.
Dismissing someone's problems as 'First world problems', or telling people they should not complain about something because not everyone can afford what they have.
And, as in this thread and others the dehumanising of people, just because they are wealthy or occupy positions of power.
The RF are human beings like us. They love their children and care for their family and when they find a black sheep in their midst their first instinct is to hope they grow out of it, or pretend to themselves it is not as bad as it looks and only in extremis eject them from the family.
When a family is also dealing with serious life-threatening illnesses among its members, this only makes dealing with a reprobate in the family more difficult. This applies, whether it is us, illegal immigrants or the RF.
Children cannot choose their parents and while some children can survive a dysfunctional upbringing and come through as balanced adults. More children, survive, but are damaged to a greater or lesser extent, and of course many will continue in the pattern they were brought up to.
Under the circumstances the two Princesses have turned out very well. It would be better they were not princesses, but that decision was made by their father not by them and they grew up with the titles.
I have tried to imagine what it is like in their situation, having parents they love yet, daily, seeing published in all the media their mother's utterly demeaning correspondance with a known paedophile, to know that your father has been committing, what are effectively acts of treason, while also being a sleazy sex obsessive.

Yes, indeed.
We cannot help having the parents we're born to, some of us are lucky, others, even if wealthy and privileged, draw the short straw.
They'd be best to keep a low profile now, for the sake of their children too.
