Good Morning Tuesday 10th February 2026

Good morning from our cold house in Suffolk as the heating suddenly went off and refused to restart mid evening. The light on the monitor indicated that it was time to arrange another oil delivery but there were 200 litres in the tank.

DH’s thinking is that it is either a fault in the meter and we have no oil or a problem with the boiler which is very old but regularly serviced. A message left to D,our wonderful boiler engineer, will hopefully see him shortly for a visit before he starts on his booked appointments.

I have a pedicure this afternoon and will hopefully return to a warm house.

I hope that those under the weather have a better day today.

Morning all from West Oxfordshire. No idea what the weather is like as I’m still in bed.

I’m doing a Waitrose shop today - I didn’t have time yesterday what with waiting for my car to be serviced in Oxford and craft group in the afternoon. I got quite a lot of knitting done.

I’ll see friends this afternoon. OH has his Shooting club this evening and I’ll catch up on various television programmes I’ve recorded,

Have a good day.

Good morning from dull and damp South Lanarkshire.

Happy birthday Melanie.

Today will be busy. I’ve an appointment to have my nails done then on to my shift in the charity shop, while I’m there DH will take in the Sainsbury delivery and put it all away. Afterwards DH will pick me up to go over to DD’s for birthday cake as her youngest turns seven today. He will then drop me off at my yarn group. Phew!

MD I hope your DiL is feeling a bit better today.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Morning from dry for now S Hants, rain later. Happy Birthday Melanie 🎂🥂
Lady coming to de wax my ears later, today’s excitement, some Olympics will be watched, fresh pasta for dinner tonight.

Good morning everyone from a very grey and misty Northampton, not raining yet but it is forecast later.

I should not have gone to yoga yesterday, as I really struggled with my painful knee; I thought I would be ok, but obviously not. I rested it for most of the day (apart from vacuuming upstairs which badly needed doing).
I shall not be joining my walking group this afternoon either, definitely not ready for an hour-long walk.

Yesterday evening I had sad news; a phone call from a friend telling me that her DH had died. We met when we lived in Cyprus in the early 1980s and had remained in touch and met up every year or so since then. He had been in a care home suffering from dementia for a couple of years, so it was not a complete surprise.

It will be an interesting morning ahead today as I am expecting a visit from some lovely firemen, complete with fire engine, to do a home fire safety check. They will inspect the house, advise on smoke alarms and also discuss a safe escape route should the worst happen. I have warned my neighbours not to be alarmed if they see the fire engine outside my house!

After that excitement I will have a quiet day reading, and phone the vets to sort out some details for the cats' visit on Saturday.

Wishing all a pleasant day.

Good morning everyone from Inverness where we’ve had some overnight rain but just looks cloudy now
A very Happy Birthday Melanie, enjoy your special day! 🎂🥂🎁
I was also line dancing yesterday NannyJan, it’s very popular here too with full classes. When I first started it last year I didn’t think I’d enjoy it as much as I do! This morning I’m off to the gym for a couple of classes and then I’ll walk back by the river into town. It’s always an enjoyable walk, it takes about 30 mins which is just long enough after the gym classes. I’ll probably have a quick look round the shops and then get the bus home
GG hope you’re feeling better soon
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Good morning all.

I have little sleep, DIL was taken back to theatre last night and is back in HDU.
DS is bringing Dollie in half an hour, so that he can go up to the hospital and see the surgeon.. She is too upset to go to school, due to the fact she was visiting mum, when they were informed, DIL had to go back to theatre. 😉
My son spent an hour on the phone yesterday morning pouring his heart out, now this.😪

Every health worry now seems trivial. I am doped up with painkillers and will get up and make Dollie's requested pancakes.♥️
I'm dreading what questions, she will ask about her mum.

Hopely this third op, (her bowel had looped again and she had an infection) will be her last for a while.
Her care has been outstanding in a hospital, which used to be deemed one of the worst in the West of Scotland.

We went into see DIL's parents yesterday to try and mend some bridges.
DH didn't want me to go, he didn't think it was a good idea, but I insisted. To my surprise, he came with me.
When they DIL's mum opened the door, I could see, that she had been sobbing (as had I).
We had long chat, about what we were going to do, about school runs, clubs etc. DS. is at breaking point.
They are obviously trying to make amends for the past and for favouring DIL's evil sister, who phoned, when we were in.
She wanted her mum to meet up for coffee,🤬 She hasn't changed a bit!.

Today is my lovely SIL's birthday, all celebrations are understandably, on hold.

Must dash, Dollie will be here in ten minutes.

Love to all. I will read everyone's news later.

Thank all for caring. X

Good morning all from a dry but cloudy North Leicestershire.

A quiet morning here but I have an appointment this pm with the urology team for the results of the biopsy on my removed kidney.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Oh Marydoll, so very sorry your DiL has had another setback. You must all be in bits. Poor little Dollie too. Praying she will heal soon.🙏🏻

Happy birthday Melanie and to baubles’s grandchild.🎂🥳

What a lot of ear wax issues today!

Fingers crossed for your appointment kittylester, and congrats to Georgesgran on finding a buyer for your rental property. Hope it all goes smoothly for you.🤞🏻🤞🏻

Good Morning everyone from a dull wet East Coast. The sun did come out a little yesterday morning so I had an hour long brisk walk.

Happy birthday Melanie enjoy your day.
Marydoll there are just no words for the suffering your DIL is going through at the moment. Thinking of you all 💐

Yesterday GS had yet another great day at school and at ours he was super. We do walk on eggshells around him but we take each day as it comes. The DGDs were delightful as ever. Little GD2 said ‘you are being really sweet grandma’ as I was telling her how I love her more than all the stars in the universe. So cute.
I need to go to Mums later and this afternoon I have a dental appointment check up. Tonight we are eating at a local hotel with friends and we have a discount voucher with either 25,50 or 100% on opening. I think another GM poster had one last week.

Wishing a day full of moments of joy 🌼
Virtual hugs to our poorly and worried friends💐

Morning everyone from West Lothian. A quick look out of the window when I was making a coffee to take back to bed confirmed that it looked miserable and certainly had been raining even though it had stopped. Dh has a part-time gardening job so has to decide whether it’s worth going today or not.
I have a fairly quiet day today. The local Rotary Club are having a collection for warm coats for Ukraine so I’m going to drop them off then do a bit of food shopping as both ds and dd3 have decided to come home tonight (mostly to watch some football game that we have on Premium Sports 🤷‍♀️) and will be wanting dinner. Not that I mind, it’ll be nice to see them both although the football chat might get a bit annoying! Fortunately, I’ll be going out to help with the local youth theatre who are deep into rehearsals for a forthcoming play.
Happy Birthday, Melanie
And I hope everyone who is unwell or in pain, feels better soon.
P.S. Can someone please explain to me how to put other posters’ names in ‘bold’ text.

Marydoll so sorry to read of the latest setback for your poor DIL I hope things begin to settle down soon.

Gemma you need to put an asterisk * immediately before and after the name, no spaces.

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders.
How dreadful Marydoll for you all. I shall be praying for you 🙏 and thinking of your precious Dollie.
I have a funeral later at the Episcopal Church. It will be packed. She was over 90, opened her garden to the public each year, bravely faced the death of her son and was a dear friend to many.

Yesterday my friend, who left this morning, and I, tootled around the Borders, mostly in the rain.

The river Tweed was in spate.
We found an excellent coffee shop in Innerleithen and I have booked a viewing for a house in Peebles. Sadly the woollen mill we used to visit in Selkirk has closed down and the industrial area looks forlorn.

I took a picture of Bernat Klein's studio which has been empty for decades but has been taken over by the National Trust for Scotland.

Happy birthday to. Melanie. Enjoy your special day

Have the best day possible everyone.

Thanks baubles

Marydol 🙏🌹

Marydoll I started crying alongside you and your DiL’s poor parents when I read this. Hopefully much better news later 🩷.

Good morning from Sunshine sandhills northwest coast.
Quiet day yesterday with a FaceTime with DD in the south and cardmaking.
Scaffolding went up this morning for work on the roof to start and this afternoon I’m off to the music club so will run through my songs.
Watched a good film noir last night “A Woman’s Vengeance’ with the handsome Charles Boyer.
Birthday greetings Melanie and thoughts to all poorlies🌺

Good morning ,
We had a lovely day yesterday, got my new phone with stuff to prevent it being damaged when , not if , I drop it !
Then we went to a NT property where we love to see lots of snowdrops ,
The main area has been cleared of the rogue Rhododendron, sadly the snowdrops seem to have been cleared too
We had a bit of lunch at a very busy place where we usually have good service , both of our choices were off the menu , the substitutes were very nice , and the busy staff were cheery
I’m so sorry to read MD s news
Praying for better news soon 🙏🏼💐

Thinking of you and your family Marydoll and hoping your DIL improves very soon. 💐

Currently we have weak sunshine but the forecast is for yet more rain so am not optimistic. So sad to read Madeleine and Marydoll’s posts this morning and hope that today sees improvement. Supporting a desperate son and grand daughter when unwell sounds beyond hard.

Wonderful cleaner is here and I need to do my bit, but no other plans for the day.

marydoll I’m so sorry that your poor DIL has had another set back but am hoping and praying that this latest operation will solve the problem. Poor little dollie must be so worried for her mummy. I hope that you will be able to arrange school runs etc with your DiL’s parents to help your DS while your DiL recovers.

Marydoll 💐❤️. Hope you feel better soon, Madeline.
Happy Birthday, * Melanie*.
Just back from hairdressers having my grey hairs coloured, ready for a meal out with a group of lady friends (our Christmas night out 😀).
It’s very wet again here in Co Durham.
Thinking of everyone with worries and illnesses, especially the Fgts

Marydoll my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family🙏🥀
