Frustrating morning

For some reason we stopped being able to receive emails for the last few days but strangely could still send mail. Today I reset the password on the email account and can now receive emails but not send them! I have tried looking at all the help forums but cannot for the life of me understand what I have to do.

I would get professional IT help if you can afford it. to come to your house.
Is it a desk top computer you have?

You've tried switching them off and on again?
Can you go in to settings and see if you can reset something?

This happened to me on my Android tablet. I uninstalled the email app and then installed it again. This put it right.

When this happened to me, I went into settings, then Mail. There was a line that said ‘push’ with an arrow. I clicked on the arrow and the emails came through again. I know not why!
On my ‘elderly’ ( who knew) I Mac Pro it stopped the email facility, it was too old to get the Apple updates. DS an IT professional, came and installed another programme that restored the email facility.
