To debate or say "Indeed"

I nod and smile in most circumstances like this.

If I know someone is stating something that I am 100% sure is wrong/untrue my go to phrase is I could agree with you, but then we would both be wrong

Life is too short to bother.

I have been lectured on many subjects, I have been interested in and researched, over the years and had things explained to me in terms simple enough for me to understand. This often takes the form of ramming their opinions down my throat as if they were facts. I usually just nod and smile, it's easier, especially as they are only concerned with their own views and not interested in anything I have to say on the subject.

Someone who pntificates against something, changes their mind, and then they have a need to be a "leader" in the opposite direction.

My mother n law would say ‘If you say so” but I like “Indeed” much better.

My go to phrase from now on.😀

"Indeed" is an appropriate response. 😂
