Completely flummoxed

I have just been a website, paid and received an email confirming order, now I have had an email saying my basket is about to expire.
I was browsing before I logged in.

Always happens to me with M&S website!

Leave it in your basket for a day or so, you normally get sent a discount.

It happens to me when I browse a site, checking items out before logging in to my account.
Consequently, another tab opens and I have two tabs open. If I get an email like that, I check my account, then delete the other tab.

It hadn’t occurred to me that it was related to whether you’ve logged onto your account or not. I’ll follow your advice next time.

Yes, it happens sometimes. Obviously a fault with the retailer’s system. I just wait for the confirmation of dispatch. It all works out ok.

Yes, it has happened a few times. I ordered a laptop online once and having checked out and paid etc. I received an e-mail saying I had something in my basket that I needed to check out. I assumed that for some reason my checking out hadn't worked so I went through the process again and received two laptops, packaged separately.

After that I have been a bit more wary and backtracked to see if my order has gone through and found that it has but the items I originally ordered were still in my basket.
