I think in my case, I hadn't had my own policy for many years and had just been named on OH policy. It meant they didn't consider any of my previous no claims but gave me a starter of 5 years - it's now 7 years and still high premiums! OH has a policy with the same company that costs half that amount - so I really don't know how they work it out but it might be a combination of not having a policy of my own for years plus age. Maybe I have to wait another 10 years to get reduced premiums lol.
