JaneJudge
I have no idea re violence. I have only read what is on the bbc
Convicted with others of a vicious assault with a machete, golf clubs and an axe, splitting someone's skull open in 2021, JaneJudge. The attackers all laughed in court at their trial.
He is not a nice young man but even so his mother must be worried sick.
I read the same. About the attackers all laughing in court during the trial.
But, is it true?
Some of the tabloids are gouging this whole thing for all it's worth, quoting theories quoted by others, it's impossible to know what is true and what is theory or speculation.
There's talk of the theft of a Rolex watch - implying that Jay Slater stole it - but not actually saying that he did. It just adds more fuel for the trolls who are apparently having a field day.
I shall stick to the BBC website whose reporting is a bit more sober.
He was - allegedly - advised by a couple of people he spoke to to go back to the AirBnB. With no water and a dying mobile battery that would have been the most sensible thing to do. But it is - again, alleged - he said that he couldn't. Is that because he couldn't remember where it was, or for some other reason? Or, is this even true?
It is definitely a mystery, and with so little official information and too many theories and so much speculation (which I'm adding to), it's impossible to know fact from fiction.
Whatever he's done, whatever his past history, I do feel sorry for his mother and father. I'm sure they didn't put him on the wrong foot as a teenager - it's very hard to keep control of them, and I'm sure they wouldn't rejoice at his involvement in the previous attack.
If he's alive, I hope he's found. If not, I hope his parents at least get to know the truth. Not knowing will haunt them forever.
