I love the UK.

Yes Primrose. Walsall town centre is quite a tired place these days but this wonderful arboretum is on the edge of the town. There are lovely walks, streams, lakes, acres of lawn, a tennis court, children's play area complete with water features, picnic areas, a very cheap little cafe. Last time we were there there were parakeets in the trees.

We live in Wales, need I say more.

We have booked cottages for the family in a place we love for next summer. Just a week of old-fashioned UK holiday.

Unfortunately it is a lot more expensive than the equivalent in Italy in the beautiful villa with a pool that we have stayed in a few times.
We are tied to school holidays to do this. I think it will be once only, unfortunately.

Not saying it's not a fair price (obviously they charge what people will pay) - just much more than we imagined it would be.

This, believe it or not, is in Walsall town centre - Walsall Arboretum. It's a lovely place.

I feel very lucky to live in beautiful North Wales. From my window I can see the mountain and I'm surrounded by lovely countryside.
I have visited many places. Scotland is one of my favourites.
I also like the Cotswolds, the Lake District and the glorious coastline of Cornwall.

Right in the middle of Norwich but you could be miles away. Plantation Garden on Earlham Rd next to RC Cathedral. Because it is a sunken garden you hear no noise from traffic only birdsong.
Google it for full and interesting history.
We have been visiting for years since volunteers started getting it back to its former glory and. I still meet Norfolk people who never knew it existed! Lovely place for a picnic.

We are very lucky to live in such a beautiful country with diverse landscapes and, dare I say, a temperate climate. I love living in north Norfolk.

A little oasis of calm.

Our country is indeed a green and pleasant land and we need to treasure it .

I have lived in East Yorkshire, Lancashire, Newcastle upon Tyne, South Yorkshire, Oxfordshire, Shropshire, Ribble Valley, North Yorkshire, Hampshire and now back in East. Yorkshire!
So we have enjoyed a lot of the UK!

Every area we have lived has had its charms.

Last weekend we spent in the Yorkshire Dales, we did a fabulous 8 mile walk in sunshine we saw no more than half a dozen people, it was bliss!

We are currently driving down to South Oxfordshire for a few days, we will do some rural walking as well as some of the Oxford Colleges, their gardens are beautiful.

Our next trip away is to Gatehouse of Fleet in Scotland, I know we don’t always get the weather but right now the sun is shining and all is forgiven.

So a huge thumbs up for the UK, a country rich in beauty, history and fabulous people.

A modest break in Yorkshire cost me £600. Not everybody has this to hand.

Yes the UK is stunning, particularly at this time of year.

A few weeks ago my DD drove me from home to a venue in Shropshire where we all had lunch and went to an art exhibition. It was a beautiful sunny day and the hedgerows were awash with wild flowers and Queen Ann's Lace and it was like an enchanted ride - it was breathtakingly beautiful.

I love the UK, where I live, open fields all around me and the quiet.. I’ve been lucky to have travelled a lot and enjoyed it but for me there’s nowhere like the UK, get so annoyed about people knocking it. Why do they live here?
Feel happy to explore the UK more, I’m fed up with airports and the crowds, being there three hours before the flight etc. was thinking of going to the fjords but that’s on hold.

We’ve just returned from visiting family in the US and our flight took us over the UK on a sunny day. Looking down from high in the sky, Britain is so varied and so beautiful. The green lushness of burgeoning spring, the bright green of crops in the fields, the darker green of forests and woodlands. Neat little towns, tiny villages and lanes then big sprawling cities which even so have a lot of green in them.

Dark blue lakes and and the rising hills of further north, then the meandering waterways of Scotland, the towering peaks and vast empty areas of the mountains, some with snow still on them and finally passing the three iconic bridges over the Firth of Forth by Edinburgh, just before landing. Gorgeous.

Yesterday I went to Hidcote Gardens in the heart of the Cotswolds and went through such beautiful scenery and delightful honey-coloured stone towns. At the weekend we are off to Devon, one of my favourite counties.

Usually we holiday.in SW Scotland where the rugged coast is a joy to explore. Anyone else know Dunure? This is the favourite place of the whole family.

I agree completely annsixty, we love living here in East Anglia. Also enjoy visiting our little home-from-home on the W.Norfolk coast.

Over the years we have done a fair bit of travelling and even though I have seen some beautiful places in Europe and beyond, I am always happy to come home to England.

Our scenery, greenery, moors, mountains, beautiful sandy beaches can hold their own with any we have seen abroad.

Then of course there is our history.

I too think we have a beautiful country. Lots and lots of green spaces and lots of national parks and some amazing beaches.

People, in my opinion, don’t hate the geography of the UK, just the economic and political situations, which actually prevents a substantial amount of people enjoying it all to the full.

I don't understand how the economic situation necessarily prevents people from enjoying the area in which they live. Obviously travelling around the UK becomes difficult without money, but nature surrounds everyone, even if you just sit in a London park, walk in a forest or wander along a beach. Cornwall, for example, is a very poor county, but this is made up for by the riches on the doorstep.
I love our cities, towns and countryside. Such diversity on a small island.
