I flew to my parents home in mainland Europe when DS4 was 10 days old, and when DD arrived two weeks late I had no choice other than to go to a conference the other end of the country with her at six days old.
(Neither were easy births, just got on and done what had to be done, which included going up to London Passport Office in 23/12 to get passport for DS only a few days old)
