Good morning all from a cloudy Glasgow, where it is 12°C, with rain forecast.
I had a very positive telephone appointment with the R.A specialist nurse yesterday. She had thoroughly checked my records and said that cardiology were happy with my last heart scan, ( I didn't know this), so I can start my treatment at last, without a clinician being present to supervise.
However, given my history, I have to phone for advice/help, at any sign of a reaction.
She did note how unwell I was and suggested that because the medication takes twelve weeks to kick in, I have to phone in a couple of weeks if my pain levels are still high and they will look at my pain relief. Steroids may be a short term solution.
We then had a day out to GoOutdoors, The view from the
Erskine Bridge, down to the Tail of the bank, always lifts my spirits.
I got my rain jacket, a puddle suit for Babydoll and DH new golf shoes in the store next door, followed by a World Buffet lunch.
The sun was shining and all was well with the world.
I was feeling quite content, until I got home to find my email account was locked on every device. This has never happened in all the years I have gad one.
This meant the dreaded call to Virgin Media. Taking a deep breath, I phoned.
Warning! Novella rant.
My email address is linked to our broadband account and DH is the account holder. They kept asking for security details, not mine, but DH's.
I knew if I held on long enough, someone would come on the line. The agent refused to talk to me until DH, who was downstairs at the other end of the house, was present.
I took a deep breath and roared at the top of my voice, no response. So off I went to get him. Stairs are my downfall, once down, I struggle to get back up.
I was huffing and puffing, while all the time, this agent in some far corner of the globe was constantly telling me that he needed to speak to the account holder.😡😡😡😡😡
Eventually I got DH, but of course he need his security details, so we trooped back upstairs again. DH was not amused.
It was like something out of a Whitehall farce, DH unable to hear (remember he is NOT deaf) what the agent was saying and my BP and heart rate rising by the second.
Eventually DH is cleared and I start to explain the problem.
Ma'am I cannot speak to you, it must be the account holder.
I try tell DH what to say, but of course he has trouble listening hearing and was causing confusion, by mishearing. This went on for ten minutes with DH getting rattier and rattlier and we were no further forward.
Eventually, the agent said he would send an email to my other email account to get me back in.
However I first needed to log onto to the Virgin Media site. Unfortunately, although I have a profile, I am not the account holder and he should have asked DH to do so. More confusion.
I was running between two rooms and two PCs. The whole call was descending into the chaos of Dante's inferno, with the agent insisting on DH being at my side at all times.
The email from Virgin failed to arrive. Back to the other room to tell the agent.
Ma'am it can take up to six minutes, please be patient. 😡😡😡
Well dear reader, it did arrive, but the link didn't work. 😭
At this point, I had totally my voice and the will to live.
Agent: Ma'am have a glass of water and you will be fine.
My thoughts at that moment are unprintable,
The agent then asked me to hand the phone to DH ( because he is the account holder )
Agent: Please tell your wife that I cannot resolve this, it is a technical issue at Virgin and I must raise a ticket. We will get back to you in five to six working days. 😭
After I exploded, he said I will call today on ^your mobile.
My mobile or DH's mobile?
Your husband's mobile.
NO, NO,NO. He never answers his mobile and it is MY email account.
Agent: I can't call you, you are not the account holder,
I asked if he could call the landline.
Ma'am, please hand the phone to your husband, as the account holder and tell him what you want to say.
Are you surprised that I took to the drink last night? 😉
A safe journey to OldD and prayers and hugs for all, who need them.
Have a pleasant day folks.
