Agree on Sarah using her title many times but i don’t think she
has ever criticised the royal family or said she wanted out.

Sussex versus Prince of Wales.
(246 Posts)Tonight William and Harry are delivering award in recognition of their mother in what seems to be a carefully choreographed event, that keeps them apart. But….
Today Meghan has announced her new ventures and whilst William is being centre stage, the Sussexes (?) have announced a large cash award from archewell.
Why? Do they not realise that people know that the timing is deliberate. Who is driving this spiteful behaviour. It’s all so unnecessary in my humble opinion.
I’ll retire behind settee now with my tin hat on awaiting the chorus of oh no not Meghan and Harry again!

On the other hand if you have a RF and an aristocracy that is hereditary you can't pick and choose who gets a title. The family members get one and so do the people they marry. That's how the system works.
There's no obligation to use the title, that is a choice made for the advantage it brings.
Obviously. But complaining because someone uses a system you support for their own ends isn't logical.
The RF often use their titles for their own ends. The Duchess of York published children's books using her title.

H&M are by no means the first of the RF to directly or indirectly use their position/title to their advantage, I’m sure they won’t be the last. When was the last time Prince Andrew actually have a job? He seems to live the life of Riley and imo his behaviour across the years has been appalling
I don't believe I said they were? I was merely qualifying the post from Glorianny about titles. I'm sure all those that use their titles do so for advantage, but it is equally for all of them a choice not compulsory.
I'm not aware of Prince Andrew having a commercial interest in operation, and no idea what his last job was. I'm not an advocate for him either. I wasn't vilifying H&M merely pointing out that if Meghan uses her title of Duchess of Sussex that's a choice she will have made.

Not true that all in the royal family have titles, Timothy Lawrence doesn’t, Anne’s Children and their husband/ wife no.
Using Andrew as an example is pointless same with his ex wife.
I hope the Sussex’s will now get on with lives and stop attacking

Why is using Prince Andrew pointless and I never mentioned his ex wife?
M&H are constantly vilified and it becomes just a bit tedious and sickening!
I think they’ve made massive mistakes and show very poor judgment but frankly who cares what day they launched their new website? Who really gives a damn?

This new website suggests that Meghan and Harry have at last realised that the world does not owe them a living and that they have got to get out there and graft.
I wish the Duchess every luck with her new site. I am sure it will be a success.
I hope so too, I don’t M is work shy and she needs to find her niche, get on with her life and both need to ensure they have a good stable marriage and set a good example to their two lovely children, whom I’m sure are very much wanted and loved.
Just coincidence she launched her site the same time as the Diana Awards were presented ?

I just think H&M are damned if they do, damned if they don’t, and for a proportion of the general public and the majority of the media can do nothing at all right!
Both M’s half sister and Dad have made money from selling stories and private letters, so I cannot feel sorry for those two at all. M’s mother seems very dignified, private, supportive and loving.

Well yes, the reliance on her title, as I said before, does not fit morally into the equation, especially when you consider how she abused that connection on occasions.
However, I see Meghan as a highly disciplined and productive person. I think she is focused and well organised, and doesn't miss an opportunity.
I believe there are several reports from Charles and the late Queen before H & M tied the knot, commenting on Meghan's intelligence and vivacious personality. I would describe her as being very driven and as having very high standards which constitute a good work ethic.
The problem was that from 2020 she channelled those energies in the wrong direction, naybe as a way of seeking a form of revenge
Well, I would say ambitious.
Terrific work ethic ? ruthlessly using people ?

^Totally with you on that one Sparklefizz. She does have a terrific work ethic^
I’m not sure what part of riding on your in-laws’ family coattails, enjoying freebies -again because of the Royal name and connection- or trading on the title you acquired by marriage into a family you constantly disparage constitutes a”work ethic”
Well she did have a considerable following and her own website/blog The Tig before she married H. She was worth around £5million. All of it earned herself. She shut it all down when she married.

I'm not a fan of Meghan but well done to her for finding another way of making money that isn't hurtful to others.

Maybe with time, and future success, she will feel the need to muscle in less and less with Harry's "projects". He, on the other hand, could do with reinventing himself, and shutting up about his mother ALL the time.
Yes, I think Meghan could make a success of this venture with Harry's support. Perhaps he needs to be the 'backroom boy' instead, in charge of production etc but leave the marketing, advertising etc to his wife.
She is using here title, she needs it

Thanks Glorianny
That looks really classy.
Good to know thst some of the profits go to charity too.
Well some of them do, but no one knows quite how much. William gets a substantial income from it of course but the charitable donation remains a secret.
I think the huge gap between W's income from the Duchy and the income of the D of C's charity probably shows the major concerns. W will probably get £20 million this year .
The Duchy of Cornwall's Benevolent Fund
Total income: £117,006
Total expenditure: £266,614
Can you imagine the outcry if TWO helicopters were used to take the family to Anmer??
Back in the day, Charles would always fly separately from the Queen even as a small boy.
Air travel wasn’t so safe then of course.
I thought they weren't allowed to use their titles
.

Apparently the late Queen disapproved of William and his family all travelling together by helicopter.
They do it frequently, especially for their trips to Anmer.
Talk about putting all your heirs in one basket! 😮😱So what about when William drives them all to school in the car? Or they go on holiday? I would too.

Richard Cole said in an interview she has reached her limit and should now focus on that,
Harry is so lost
Smileless2012
Is she using her title 'Duchess of Sussex' to promote this?
I guess she will always use that to her advantage.
I can just about swallow that one.
