Good morning Mick and all from cloudy Lancashire, currently 9°C and raining.

Yesterday was a wet and windy day, MrB took me to collect my prescription and I had a wander around the store. It was a bit too busy for me so I didn’t spend long in there but I got everything I needed. A lovely shop employee noticed I was struggling, carried my basket to the till, placed everything on the belt, packed my bag and carried it to the car. It warms my heart to see such kindness amongst the gloom.

Good morning Mick and all from a wet 10° northwest coast.
My dodgy stomach made its presence felt yesterday and I just rested until the evening when I reluctantly attended our book group, but glad I did. No one liked the book but the company was good.

I’m on the desk at the music club today and will have a practice sing before I go. Would prefer to stay here under a heated throw, but life goes on…

Good morning from a very windy East Midlands. Another day of recuperation and everything, hopefully is going in the right direction. I finished a C2C blanket yesterday for my friend’s niece. Take care and stay safe. Love to those who are ill or low in mood.

Good Morning from Cambridgeshire where we have a grey sky with an 85% chance of heavy rain . So lucky that we chose last week for a mini break in Brighton where we had Blue Skies & Sunshine .
Last night in a lightbulb moment Dh decided to shampoo the rug in the kitchen & also the one that we’d put away in the shed for whatever reasons I can’t remember 🙄 That one in particular is now headed for the local tip , I think the cats have been using it for their personal uses .
Oh well todays another day & painting to be done , stairs & landing having a freshen up 👌

Good morning everyone from an overcast and very windy Northampton, 10°C here today. Rain forecast this afternoon. I may or may not join my walking group this afternoon.

First I need to run the Shark attachments over the sitting room furnishings, and do the bottom half of the stairs. Yesterday was spent wielding the duster and polish, then sorted out the dining room.

No further treatment needed at the dentist, so that's me let off or another 6 months!
Bought a lovely bunch of spring flowers from our excellent local florist in the village, and then had a coffee with a complimentary shortbread biscuit at the village bakery.

Medication review by phone late afternoon; felt as though whoever I spoke to didn't really know or care; he asked me whether I was all right to continue with everything - I felt he should be offering the advice, not me. I did ask about Alendronic Acid which I have been on for 12 years (had read it should be about 5), and he did agree to remove that from my prescription. Not satisfied at all with the experience, and I told them so in the review they asked me for by text after the phone call.

Damp and very windy morning but only a supermarket shop on the cards. My list is cat dominated, the first time for about twelve years, and of course things have changed so will stick to what she is familiar with, at least for now. Feeling somewhat lacklustre but hope to be a bit livelier once the day is properly under way.

I am just about to go out into it, I'm out of fresh fruit and veg which I can't do without. The local convenience store, not far away, doesn't sell fresh stuff so not very convenient!

Good morning from a sunny and,so far,windless Suffolk although high winds are predicted. Being only a few miles from the sea,we often seem to get weather different from places more inland.

I spent a delightful few hours yesterday with my old work colleague and was due to meet another friend today at the beach for a walk and fish and chips lunch but shehas the dreaded heavy cold and is feeling delicate so we are postponing that til after next week’s schools half term….just realised that is a very long sentence!

It doesn’t seem 2 minutes since the children went back to school after the Christmas holiday but they probably have other ideas.

So a peaceful day at home with nothing more energetic than a dog walk shortly and a pile of paperwork to sort.

Good morning from a dull, dismal & extremely wet Sefton. It's still very windy. My very busy day yesterday was followed by a good night's sleep.😴 My cake for WI was a success & vanished very quickly. I had been rather nervous as I haven't baked for many years.
Off to N Wales today. Not looking forward to the wet & windy journey. We have been invited to the 10th anniversary lunch of the singing group we started in Llandudno. The group carried on after we returned to Sefton a few years ago. Looking forward to meeting up with old friends.

Yesterday, after procrastinating for weeks, I contacted the electrician to arrange for the socket, where the fallen cooker hood had been, to be isolated. DH had been nagging for weeks about it, but those sort of things always fall to me to organise and I couldn't face it.
I had decided not to replace the hood and just have the wall replastered.

I have known the electrician since I taught his children nearly thirty years ago and he decided to become self employed. He reminded me how much work I got him from staff, when he started out.
I thought all he had to do was isolate the socket. How wrong I was! He could not locate the place the cable was running off. The only way to fix it would be to drag out the gas range and cut into the wall. 😱 However getting the range in situ was very problematic in the first place. I just couldn't deal with it in my present state, so we are replacing the cooker hood instead!
It was fortuitous that he decided to check the surrounding sockets, for he found one to be faulty and replaced it.
A lot of reminiscing was done and I was so happy to hear how well his children had done.

Today, I am hoping to see my beloved Babydoll at last. I still feel rotten, but no way as bad as I did!
On the way there, we will drop off my latest cull at the charity shop. Much to my amazement yesterday, DH suggested going through the coat cupboard to check for charity shop items, (he is a reluctant culler) as we needed to empty it anyway to get to the fuse box.
Four winter jackets of his, two sizes too small went into the bag. Result!
I could have wept when I got rid of my beautiful Italian leather jackets, some of my Rome bargains. I kept hoping to get into them again, but have finally admitted defeat. In saying that I have lost weight in the last few weeks, due to being unwell. Every cloud and all that.😉
These were not just any leather jackets, these were expensive overmakes of buttery soft leather in pastel colours, bought for only 10€ at the market.😭

Good morning from a grey and rainy NE where it feels milder, probably because the wind has dropped.
Yesterday was a half day in the study sorting paperwork and in the afternoon hoovered the downstairs and cleaned the kitchen. The evening was spent watching TV and doing crosswords in between exchanging messages with sister and DC when the news broke about the King.
The hairdresser is due at 10am but nothing planned for the rest of the day.

Dgs1 has chattered at me all the way back to my house so it's safe to say he's feeling better. Three slices of melon have been consumed and he's busy playing with his Spiderman plane and annoying his brother. He's never shut up since he got here! Thank you all for your concern

Good morning from Kent, my last morning here, I shall be on my way home once DD2 has dropped the girls off at school.
It takes between 2 and 3 hours on bus, train and tube. Luckily I bring very little with me and only have a backpack to carry.
DH has a meeting this evening and I have lots of admin to get on with.

Morning all from a rather windy West Oxfordshire.
I will pop down to the Post Office later and post my brother’s birthday present to Australia. He now has a date for his heart operation - next Tuesday. I hope it does the trick. He was looking very pale and puffy when I chatted to him yesterday.
OH has a U3A meeting this afternoon and we are both out this evening at different venues. I will re-jig the left over beef bourguignon from Sunday for dinner.

Good morning all and yes it’s breezy and dull here in Essex.

Yesterday Dh and I went into town, for some banking business and a much needed haircut for him. I bumped into my good friend who was very tearful after hearing about the death of someone special to her. We went and had a coffee where Dh joined us.

Afternoon U3A meeting was very well supported. There must have been 200 people there.

Today I have Bridge club (always with tea and cake). Lovely .

Good morning Mick and all who follow. It's supposed to be bright but cloudy on the Angus coast today. The sky's beginning to lighten and I can see the patches of cloud - I hope the rest is blue!
Of all the busy and active people who frequent this thread I would say you are the busiest and most active grandmattie - certainly not lazy! Those boxes can wait another few days!

Well, talking about 'lazy', all my gallivanting and high living of January caught up with me yesterday! After the basic houseworking tasks had been completed I just couldn't work up the enthusiasm for a trip down into town. So I didn't. So yesterday's visit to the Bank will have to be added into today's tasks after tai chi when I shall be down in town anyway. On the plus side, I saved the planet from a bit of pollution by not going yesterday 😉
I hope today is one of the good days for everyone, and the sun will shine and the wind will die back for a while. 🦋🌞

DH is just putting the rubbish out. Hope they pick it up before it blows away.
Tuesday is charity shop volunteering day and DH is fishing. We'll both be home before the worst of the weather hopefully.

Karma I always print my own postage using the Royal Mail website. Haven't entered a Post Office for years.

Good morning from a very bitty Cornwall where bits of sun, wind, cloud and rain are forecast today. Currently just the Domino's lorry making any sound outside.

Usually meet my prayer friend on Tuesdays but she's away so I'll take a bus ride to my favourite charity shop cum café and have a toasted tea cake, and see what's on the 50p rail that I can remake.
