I bought an air fryer in the sales....I'm terrified of it. It sits there, brooding, waiting for me to do something!!

I've treated myself to a couple of little things that were on my Christmas list, but which no one had bought for me.
The first was the Harvest teapot by Mark's and Spencer's, which Musicgirl posted on my thread 'Does anyone else have a passion for Teapots?' I do have a passion for teapots and fell in love with it when I saw it in the photo🤗. And she's right - it does make a super cup of tea!
Then when I put up a thread: 'I'm thinking of buying a yarn bowl', Greyduster mentioned a beehive shaped yarn holder that her mother used to use. Intruiged, I set off on a journey of discovery and found them selling on ebay. They were made of bakelite. I liked the look of it and wondered who might have used it all those years ago 🤔. I showed it to hubby, who likes anything vintage and without my knowing, he bought it for me. What a lovely surprise.
Finally, I treated myself to a tension yarn ring, which I had only just learnt about. So I've been having great fun with the yarn holder and tension ring. The tension ring takes the hard work out of crocheting. No more cramped fingers. And my cat can't tamper with the wool 😄🙀.
So have you, or anyone else, treated you since Christmas?

Hubby treated us to a spa and overnight stay while driving through Belgium.
We had 2 spa days and an overnight at Waer Waters. Such a nice treat! Forget that temperatures were below 0C at the time. It made for some brisk walking in the outside areas if we wanted to go to the outdoor tuns and pools.
Yes. I bought Ghosts: the Button House Archives, since no one chose it off my Christmas list. Sheer indulgence but only ten quid.
I have been spending a lot of money post Christmas. New front and new back doors, MOT with 2 new tyres and an accelerator pedal, lipstick, mascara, skin tonic and been out for coffee and cake 3 times and going again his afternoon. All catching up with friends since I was sadly bereaved in October. I have just ordered a new tap for the bathroom sink so it has to stop now.
New bathmat in the M&S sale, two cushion covers from Wayfair sale and a duvet set in the Dunelm sale.
Household linens are my weakness!
Marmight- I love those socks 🧦.
I've treated myself to a Glossy Box subscription. It's a monthly box of five beauty products, some full size, others sample size but, in total , worth more, in retail value, than the monthly payment of about £12. It's a pleasant little surprise each month because you don't know in advance what will be in the box.
Yes, treated ourselves to a cruise for some winter sun. Husband spent the night on IV fluids after collapsing on bathroom floor. One thing to be said for a cruise ship, the nurse and doctor were at the door very quickly.
Have just ordered a new larger microwaveable wheatie to replace the small tatty old one.It helps with neck and shoulder pain.Talk about living life n the fast lane!
Yes - a new slo cooker, 6.5 litres, at Sainsbury. I could get an elephant in that. (My previous cooker was 1.5 litres. So, quite a contrast.)
We went away for hogmanay and I remembered to take the vouchers and money received at Christmas. As we live in a rural location visiting a city was a treat. I bought a dress 2 sweaters and a new top all in the sale as well as 2 pairs of trousers for DH all for free as the vouchers covered the cost.
Yes, to an electric butter dish. Keeps the butter soft and ready to spread whatever the temperature in the kitchen.
Yes a new top that I had my eye on. It’s my birthday in two weeks so I’m calling it an early birthday gift.
👍
Marmight, those boots look cosy 🤗🤗. And you have the same taste in socks as me 😁
I'm thinking of treating myself to an Islands Eye Knitwear cardigan or sweater. I found them on the internet last year and bought a coatigan and a hat and scarf set. Expensive but fabulous quality and no doubt the items will last for many years. I can't stand being cold and their knitwear solves that problem. There's a sale on at the moment.
Maggiemaybe, thank you. I did try again yesterday, and also this morning.
Still no luck. I tried phoning the local Clarkes shop, and was told that if I went in, they would order it online!
But, their site was down. Overloaded with emails.
I bet tomorrow it will be sold out 🥲
A pair of ‘fur’ lined suede slipper/boots from Moshulu which keep my feet toasty warm and just ordered some more Scandinavian wool socks in their sale. Having warm feet is half the battle!
Ooh, 🚗 🚙 🚘 Tell us more, Optimistic!

Yes I treated myself to a new car today! I normally procrastinate and am very indesivive but I just went for it today! Get it in 2 weeks
My mum had a bell-shaped gauge, Primrose - you’ve jogged my memory. I have a plastic one, a funny shape like the one in your photo, second from the right. No idea where it’s from, I’ve had for many years.

Well, succumbing to the lure of a sale of bags at Clarke's, I attempted to buy a brown leather Tote bag.
My card was declined😱, shock horror! Never happened before.
I checked my bank, thinking that someone had managed to run off with all my worldly wealth. Nope.
So I have emailed them a query and will wait to see what they say, and will have to forgo the bag for now.
If still no luck, I will try on Friday when we go into town, and see if I can order one through the shop.
Funnily enough, Auntieflo, exactly the same thing happened to me when I went to check out my brown leather Clarks tote (probably the self-same one
) online yesterday. It came up with a message saying payment couldn’t be taken from the card I’d just scanned. It’s a worry, isn’t it? Fortunately I just went through the process again, typing in the details this time, and it worked. Phew!
I do hope you get your bag.
Musicgirl, I love the teapot. I'm so glad you showed it. Not only do I have the teapot but have begun buying other items from the collection. All really nice quality. I'm meant to be decluttering, not adding 🤣🤣🤣
