Good Morning Monday 25th September 2023

Morning a Mick, morning All. Dark and wet sums up our corner of Somerset. Due to be a decent day later.

Two long phone calls filled yesterday afternoon. Our Welsh friend sounds increasingly poorly. Think (hope!) I convinced her an urgent call to her GP this morning would be sensible. The other was in total contrast, from my very excited cousin about to embark on a long awaited trip to America. They will be away for a month and have so many plans.

That’s a super idea mattie. I hope you are appreciated by your Church. Good to hear improvement from ash and mick. Safe trip ash

We’re off out this morning, an unfamiliar destination. Mr C is keen which I’m delighted about. I’m less so as I’m finding managing all the driving both exhausting and painful. Will give myself a shake and get on with it, as with most things thinking about it will be far worse than the reality and yes, it will be worth it.

Good morning, it’s been raining overnight, let’s hope it’s a dry day as the tree/hedging chaps will be here and they want to finish it all in one day.

Good morning from a grey, dark Bristol. It rained heavily overnight.

After a rather noisy baptismal service in church, I had a quiet day. I did my Spanish homework for Friday like a good girl, I’ve got a very busy week coming up, with the usual, plus pc service, haircut, etc.
Today, I’m going to toddler group. For Sunday’s harvest festival, the vicar wants the theme to b3 the future and has asked parishioners to write a letter to their future selves. As it’s too difficult for babies to think further than their next meal, we are doing a poster. The group is called “Footsteps”, so I suggested we had footprints walking to a large tree with handprint leaves, waving to their future selves. I need to put it all together.

Good morning from a dry and peaceful Rugeley, from where we shall depart for Torquay later this morning.

DH had a great time at the Model Railway Exhibition yesterday whilst I enjoyed a mooch round a garden centre (where the C word was much in evidence!!) and spent some time in the nearby park with DS and DGS3.

Later, we all met up at a Brewer’s Fayre pub on the Northern edge of Stafford for dinner. There were nine of us, including my DD and family from Crewe. My dancing DGD has successfully auditioned for a pantomime (Snow White) in Stoke so she was very excited about that.

Prices were unbelievable for the food and bottles of wine were £14.99! Living in a tourist area means we never see such prices.

I hope today is the start of a better week for all. My hip pain has certainly eased in the last 24 hours, thankfully!
