My dental appointment wasn’t as bad as I had feared thank you Mary.My filling was repaired with a tiny bit of drilling, no injection needed😅I hope yours can be repaired as easily🤞🏻

My Helpers come from Manaus in the Amazon rainforest. They asked if summer was always this cold.

Good morning from Foxyland. We have clearly had rain overnight but (as yet) it is bright and breezy.
GS made an excellent job of painting the shed yesterday and was justifiably proud of the finished result. Bless him, TG it stayed fair long enough for him to finish it. To thank him we went up to the village pub for scampi and chips (for him) and fish and chips (for me) and the inevitable titbits for the Foxyhound.
He goes home today , the "usual" handover at the Hotel Chocolat cafe near Juncton 16.☕☕
So glad to hear you are getting out and about Mick , and found Oppenheimer thought provoking. And encouraging news from Mr C - Cornergran , you must be exhausted do take care of yourself too, it's hard for the patient but not easy for those who care for them too!!

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a very wet South Yorkshire. I enjoyed the film too Mick. Special effects were brilliant and added to the shock and awe of it all.
Yesterday was a quiet day. I had a geyser of hot porridge to contend with, much of which ended up on the kitchen window and some on me! Tidied up my front rockery but didn’t get round to cutting the grass. Writers group this afternoon at the library. As the weather is going to be pretty awful, I will take the car. Last week no buses turned up anyway so I may as well cut down the odds again.

Good morning from a very damp Suffolk where we had lots of rain overnight.

We had our oil boiler serviced yesterday and think we might need the heating on today as I have a Teams meeting this afternoon which will last for probably nearly 3 hours. Sitting still for so long will make me feel cold in this miserable day and I don’t think I can drape myself in a pashmina.

Our boiler is about 17 years old and continues to work well. D who has looked after it for many years says that newer ones are made partly using recycled metal and on average only last 10 or so years.

DS is on holiday this weekend and DiL and girls are going shopping so he is coming here with DGS. Think they and DH are going out for lunch and then to a local museum which is very small but has interesting things such as items as a book of punishments meted out to pupils in a nearby school many years ago. Just the kind of information to interest a 9 year old boy.

Good morning from a fairly bright Black Country, where it obviously rained overnight.

Yesterday was a dull but warm day. My friend and I drove over to Baggeridge country park, and walked down to Himley Park, had a coffee and back to Baggeridge for lunch. Drinking coffee a little Robin hung around quite close to us, obviously hoping we had food.

Today we are picking up Mum and driving over to my cousins house in Telford where we have been invited to lunch. Mums sister will be there, and my brother and his wife.

Then later this afternoon, to finish packing for our trip to Glastonbury at the weekend, then onto Lyme Regis on Sunday.

Lovely photo's BlueSapphire makes me want to go there even more now.

The old boiler here was 42 years old i don't mean me Liberty but I must say the new one I had fitted last year is far more efficient and tiny by comparison. I hope it sees me out

Good morning Mick and all from a wet northwest coast.
I didn’t make it to the music club yesterday, the long journey the day before and my bad back conspired to take it out of me and I just pottered. Irritated with myself for the weakness of getting older (not old!).
Will catch up today on various things and I’m glad things are picking up Mick. I don’t fancy Oppenheimer at all, not the length, but the subject matter.

Life seems to be getting back on track Mick, that's good.

I have to go out shortly....I have a dental appointment which I made as soon as I got back this weekend. A crown and tooth scheduled for removal in September has become painful when eating that side. I'll see what the dentist thinks about it, don't feel it will survive much longer...
Then in view of the weather, I think I shall tackle the ironing and then my new book. It was a birthday present and supposed to be a thrilling read but so far I'm unsure about it, it involves magic and spells all of which is not generally my thing.

The square is beautiful grandMattie, and I hope you get your glasses finally sorted.

I don't think I'm envying Olddudders, Ashcombe, not if he's going across on the ferry! Hope it's a better trip than I suspect.

Good morning from a damp Shropshire.
Had a nice trip to the local garden centre yesterday and a walk through the fields in the afternoon.
Boiler service this morning and hope to get into town to collect my engagement ring which has been repaired.
DH offered to buy me a new one but after51 years I’m quite attached to the original( the ring and DH).
Managed to make a private cardiac consultant appt for next week so hope to get some answers to my iregular heartbeats.

Good morning from a wet, grey Durham. It started to drizzle late last night and ongoing. I’m pleased I got DD2’s laundry washed and dried on Monday - all 9 loads! I’ve a dull headache, which really isn’t me, but coffee this morning with a friend, then I must restock my cupboards - it’s like Mother Hubbards here. Little Dog to walk later -he goes home tomorrow (until next time).

Thank you for all the kind wishes for olddudders as he returns to his home. He travels by train, tube, Eurostar, metro and train to reach his destination, so weather shouldn't bother him and his train to Paddington was unaffected by industrial action.

He has an appointment soon in Le Mans regarding nodules on his parathyroid glands which will probably require minor surgery. I'm committed to the two week run of Dad's Army, opening on Monday. Olddudders will be back in early September to celebrate his brother's 70th birthday.

It does seem quiet here now!!

Good morning all. Guess what? It's raining and quite breezy here on the Angus coast - in keeping with the rest of the UK it would seem!
Glad you enjoyed the film Mick. DD saw it the other day but rather 'damned it with faint praise' by just saying it was good, and nothing else.
My alarm woke me early this morning - I'd forgotten to turn it right off yesterday - so I enjoyed the luxury of turning over and going back to sleep. For two hours! So I haven't had time to read any posts properly yet. I just skimmed through (checking out the weather - Inverness is the only sunny place I think!) and looking at photos. Iceland looks really quite east Scotland-ish Bluesapphire. I suppose I expected more ice 😉
Today I'm off out to meet friends for lunch in the next town. We have a tradition of meeting up on each other's birthdays, so it will be good to gather round for a good old natter. There used to be five of us, but sadly we're down to four now - and all becoming a wee bit creaky too!
Now I must off and spend some time tittivating - I'm a good bit older than the others and don't like to make it too obvious!
