very large MOON due tuesday

Well, it was too cloudy and a bit wet out
So we didnt get to see the moon here

Did you swim BlueBelle? 🏊‍♀️🧜‍♀️

What I meant to say was do you wear just a costume

BlueBelle

Might be going for a moonlight swim Did last year

That sounds delicious, but it is quite a lot colder this August. Do you just wear a cossy, BlueBelle?

We should get some BIG tides here then. 👏

Beautiful deep pink and much larger, we are in the far north, No meteor showers though, clouded over.

The moon could be purple with pink spots on tonight. From where we are now in Normandy, the cloud cover is so thick, not to mention the rain, we do not stand a cats chance in hell of seeing the moon, no matter how unusual.

Why it's called the Sturgeon Moon:

"While the Full Moon names in common use today originate from North America, a huge variety of names were used by indigenous cultures both across North America, Europe and around the world."

"It’s perhaps no surprise then, that the name Sturgeon Moon – or as it’s evolved in modern media, the Sturgeon Supermoon – derives from the fish that was once plentiful in rivers and lakes at this time of the year."

"Particularly abundant around the Great Lakes along the border between the United States and Canada, the freshwater lake sturgeon was an essential food source for the Native American Algonquin tribe"

Rainy last night. I'll hope for a clear sky tonight, but I'm not holding my breath.

I noticed last night that it looked larger, but was partly hidden by hazy clouds. Hopefully a better view tonight.

The Sturgeon Full Moon tonight, It's the first of two Super moons in August.
It was too cloudy to see here in East Anglia when I went to bed last night, but got a view between 2 & 3 AM, when I woke in the night.

It looks slightly bigger here but not anything spectacular. Full moon.

Apparently it will also have a blue-ish tinge and look 14% larger.

Is it just northern hemisphere or is it in the southern one too? I’ll look out and see, anyway. Thanks for info.

Thanks for letting us know, I'd missed hearing about this somehow.
