Watched this documentary last night for the nth time - it's something that has never been forgotten in the oil industry. Dh lost a colleague and his company's cable laying vessel was involved in the rescue attempts. So many people were touched by this and it's still difficult to get your head around the magnitude of the event. 167 souls lost their lives on Piper Alpha. RIP

Thanks for bumping this up katek. Sadly ,unless you know someone involved, these disasters become a distant memory. We need to remember and lessons really do need to be learned instead of just lip service being paid to them.
