I love these long light days and evenings. and the sun and not having to heat the house or tackle snow or the people complications of C mas - no thanks, (shudder) will avoid till unavoidable.
As for food well that what M n S is for, as far as I'm concerned.

I'm a bit like you Witzend, the excitement of all the craft and decorating, then the looking forward to putting it all away for another year. Do love seeing the house back to normal.

I detest Christmas. I will not be preparing till last minute. Last year I fell out with everyone, my car was off the road due to needing repairs and the supplier was shut till new year. I couldn’t go far, busses were unreliable, Apart from burying my head in a book I just wanted to hibernate. So The C word not my favourite

I feel sorry for anyone who detests or dreads it - it must make the last 3 months of the year a serious PITA. Personally I love the run up - and the week after - more than the actual day.

I only put it that way because some GNers do start frothing at the mouth if anyone mentions the C-word before November. Even if they post on the dedicated C-word thread.

On putting a large-ish, empty mayonnaise jar in the dishwasher, I told dh not to put it in the recycling later but keep it - ditto any similar - since it won’t be too long before I’m making C-word mincemeat again. 😱

I had an email from a C…….s on line store flagging their C…….s sale today. Up to 25% off all sorts of things! Haven’t been tempted 😂😂. (I suppose if you are after something or need to replace something, now’s the time to do it, though).

Not exactly woollies, but recently I found Lazybones trousers on the Seasalt website - most def. a colder-weather thing - soft, warm and v comfortable for around the house - and ordered some. Because if I left it until the autumn, they’d be sold out, wouldn’t they?

It's been on my mind. I will be back n new house by then. New bay window and new tree.
