We did Glastonbury in 1984, Joan Baez, Elvis Costello, Ian Dury, The Smiths, etc.
It was SO hot, but we were young and slim, so it was fine!
We roughed it in a tent, but we'd booked a cottage just outside Ham Street for the two weeks after Glasto, so had a blissful fortnight to recover!
The owners of the holiday cottage allowed us to leave our car on their land whilst we were at Glasto, so we hitched, and walked over the weekend, but then had our car for the following two weeks.
We were young, madly in love, engaged, and at that point had no mortgage!
It was quite possibly the best holiday we ever had, perfect weather, cash to spare, no responsibilities, we just had a fabulous time!
We're still in love, once again have no mortgage, and apart from Grandchild minding, no responsibilities, but we're well beyond 'roughing it' in a tent these days!
