Nailbrushes - a thing of the past?

I have nail brushes at every washbasin and use them nearly every time I was wash hands, not just for my nails but on my fingers too. I stayed with my son recently and remarked on the absence of a nail brush and was told they never need to use one, then I saw his wife come in from pulling some carrots out of the ground, and she picked up the washing up brush to scrub the earth from her hands and nails. - ugh!!!!

They are essentials in our house. Not sure about daughters/grandchildren but how else do they clean their nails properly?

Before gardening (which I do a lot of) I scrape my nails along a block of soap, and afterwards wash my hands in hot water and nails are clean.

That doesn’t work for me at all multicolourswapshop, when I pull a plant out or put my hand into the soil to do something, the soil gets into the glove from the top, makes it’s way down to the finger ends and my nails get dirty. If anything I find rubber gloves the worst because they don’t grip your wrists, and then ride down whilst you’re working. Your husband must have been an extremely fastidious gardener.

I wear latex gloves under a pair of gardening gloves and still need to use a nailbrush.

My late husband was never fastidious as suggested by one post but the blue rubber gloves did the trick they never burst nor did he get dirt under his nails

How can a bar of soap be unhygienic? It's the soap that kills the germs when you're washing your hands, so germs surely can't survive on them. They do get dirty, admittedly, especially when a five-year-old has just used it, but that can be rubbed off.

I have gone back to bars of soap to reduce plastic. They are sold in paper or cardboard boxes and when they're gone, they're gone and there's nothing to throw away.

Bars of soap here too.
I was once given a kit to make soap from scratch - that was fun and the soap lasted for ages. Now I buy it though.

But then I saw this post and wondered, too, how soap can be unhygienic?

For this reason I absolutely HATE it when ordering a drink, hot or cold and it's given to you by the server holding onto the rim of the glass/cup.
Why ????? God only knows where they're fingers have been and anything left on the side/rim immediately gets transferred to the mouth.
Nasty habit. USE THE HANDLE people or hols the receptacle further down!

Funnily enough, my husband was recently asked to supply some for one of his clients (he runs a cleaning company) and we couldn't find any anywhere. We eventually had to order some online.

I buy them regularly, they have them in Dunelm and also in SuperDrug.

I use mine often. I don't like to wear rubber gloves ..the hassle of getting them on mainly, so I have to use a nail brush, especially after repotting plants.
My daughter doesn't own one.

We keep nail brushes in our bathrooms and use them every day. Also pack them when going on holiday. I’m also a gardener and hate dirty nails. I don’t have any trouble finding them when they need to be replaced.
