Was feeling really happy today

So sorry that happened Auntieflo a happy sunny day ruined.
I was feeling happy as I found out I I had won £250 on the premium bonds.
Nice sum to do something with.
Around lunch time I was in the kitchen and heard the boiler click on and start to burn.
Then I realised I had heard it before but ignored it as I thought I had been mistaken.
Sure enough it came on again and continued to do the on and off bit for several times.
I have the engineer coming on Thursday but at 18years old I think it needs replacing.
I need to have a much bigger win I think.

Auntieflo did you check to see if the garden centres CCTV covered your parking space?

Oh dear. Rotten luck all round. I'm sorry to hear this.
I remember being on the phone one day to BT and the lady telling me to sit down as I was due compensation. It was wonderful. I came off the phone to hear the children shout, 'Mum, the TV is on fire'. It was. The compensation money gone as soon as it arrived. ☹️

Thank you GrannyGravy13. Yes I did ask, but unfortunately their CCTV doesn't cover the area of the car park that we were in.
I did win £75.00 on the Premium Bonds, but it won't cover even a coat of paint. An expensive lunch out.

What a horrible thing to do and then leave Auntieflo sadly nowhere guarantees courtesy and good manners.

That’s rotten Auntyflo will your insurance pay out as you can prove from the damage that somebody drove into you?

People can be so very mean Auntyflo, and you would hope that those visiting a garden centre would own up to this. 💐

Sadly Oreo making a claim on her own insurance would be a costly business. As the person at fault isn’t traceable, Auntieflo would assume responsibility for the cost of her repairs. She would forfeit her own no claims bonus (if not protected) and her premium would increase for the next 5 years. The best option is just to get estimates/quotes from a few bodyshops and bite the bullet, without contacting her insurance company at all.

same happened to us @auntieflo car was days old too. Cost us £800 to straighten out the dent.

As a sidebar to garden centre car park incidents, when I was working there I was witness to an elderly gentleman ‘accidentally’ reversing into his wife who was loading her shopping into the boot of their car at the time. Ouch!
Luckily it was only a nudge and she was fine and lived to tell the tale but I sympathise with Auntieflo as many of our customers did struggle with parking.

Same thing happened to us on holiday last year - we assumed someone had let their trolley run into the car in the garden centre car park, it caused a lot of damage with a big dent in the passenger door and the paint scraped off. We claimed through insurance which saved us a lot of money - also saved us a lot of hassle as everything was arranged by the insurance company.
All we had to pay was the excess.
If you have No Claims Protection then you should definitely contact your insurer.
It's really upsetting when someone does this and doesn't own up.

That’s not always the case - I’m guessing it depends on which company you’re with. We had a similar issue and claimed from our insurance. We’ve a no excess policy and our premium didn’t go up any more than expected the next year (and as usual, we negotiated it back down!). We do have our no claims discount protected though.

Mind you, when it was scraped again later that same year, we decided not to push our luck!

Many moons ago we returned to our car, there was a huge dent on the rear. A stranger had seen a coach reverse into us and left a note of the reg number, needless to say coach driver didn't leave details. We contacted police to find company details and claimed on their insurance. so grateful to the unknown stranger.

Unnecessary expense for you Auntieflo
All due to someone else with no conscience.
I am delighted to say my boiler was fixed yesterday, a sticking hot water valve.
It cost me £60 which is the excess on my plan with BG.

Same thing happened to me when I took my disabled friend to the garden centre! Parked in a disabled bay using her badge, in the end bay next to where the trolley park was. When we came back, someone had bashed a trolley into the side of my two day old brand new car, damaging, denting and scraping the door and the wing mirror, with half of it hanging on by the wiring and the other half, the casing, in two pieces on the floor!!! Very expensive visit to the garden centre!
