Which accent do you absolutely love?

As I was born in West Lancashire (now part of the bigger Merseyside conurbation) I have a fondness for the very quiet Scouse/ Lancs accent I grew up with. I am astonished however when I hear current thick Scouse accents which seem so much harsher , more difficult to understand but somehow celebrated .
My favourites will always be North Welsh and Geordie

geordie, my dad was a geordie.

Not many actors can do a Brummie accent. Peaky Blinders drove me up the wall. Also the blonde lady in Doctors. Her supposed Brummie accent is hilarious.

Irish

Very few people know what a Norfolk accent sounds like and certainly TV and radio dramas set in the county almost always get it wrong. It's quite a difficult accent for actors to copy and most end up sounding like they are from Devon - much to the frustration of those of us who live in Norfolk. The following is a pretty good example

I love the accent from the Hebrides. Some of the islands have lovely accents.

I like all Scottish, Geordie and Irish accents. HATE Scouse, Brummie and Essex accents. Voices are a big turn on or turn off for me. HATE David Beckhams voice. Can't see the attraction at all in him.

Love the southern US accents and also the gentle Irish ones.

I love the Barnsley accent spoken in '24 hours in A&E' on the tele.
I like the west country accent too.

I tend to like the softer, more lilting accents, for eg, those from Shetland, North Yorkshire.
As someone has already said, accents vary widely, even within regions. My own Yorkshire accent differs considerably from some one from The Dales, Barnsley or Leeds, for example.

North London…in fact …my own.

I like the Geordie accent, Southern Irish, Birmingham and Scottish but like them to be soft and not too strong.

Living in the North now, I have to say my birthplace and childhood accent of Cornish is my favourite. Sad that many old phrases and words are disappearing, my 97 year old Mum still uses them. It is a gentle accent that I will forever hold in my heart.

I love a West Country accent like Bristol or Somerset. Anywhere around there is so warm and friendly sounding. I always feel 'welcome' there.

What about Lancashire - it’s a lovely warm accent.

I love all the British accents but the one I find it longer to get tuned into is a Somerset accent.
As a child, I used to have to act as translator for an uncle who came to visit from NW Cumberland. I couldn't understand why the bus conductor didn't understand him.
What I harte is dropping of H and also missing out T eg. sco'ish
and when did TH become F as in Fir'y Free

Oh strong Irish! Can listen to it for hours

I'm from Yorkshire , with the corresponding accent, but I adore Cockney / regional London and Southern accents .
