£3.06 very good value I think. When you compare subscription services costing far more, the BBC is a bargain and I would pay that for the radio stations alone, also for absence of ads interrupting programmes.

From people I know, it is only those over about 60 who watch the BBC.

And you’d have to subscribe to several as well. I tend to wait till eg a Netflix series is released on dvd and then watch the whole lot without adverts. I’ve just bought House of the Dragon to watch. Tonight is the highlight of our week. Quiz night. Before I go to sleep I’ll probably listen to the latest In Our Time. I fell asleep last night watching the Egypt stuff on BBC4.

But as I said Grantanow why do comedians have to be political? I would rather they were just funny. Think how clever the Two Ronnies were with their their playful use of language and ability to speak very fast and remember so much. I can remember being completely blown away by the sheer skill of some of their sketches. Can anyone reach those giddy heights today?

That isn't what I said at all, if you'd read my comment properly. But I don't see why 12 year old girls shouldn't know that women actually have orgasms - it's so rarely mentioned in sex education. And by 12 - some of them will have been discovering their own bodies for themselves so why NOT know how those bodies are put together and how they react?

I’ve seen several threads that should be closed in the time since I joined alone.
Either really unpleasant, or stupidly boring or just weird.
These are the threads that seem to go on and on tho.

None of them closed because they were "too long" though.

Anyway, we don't have thread monitors who decide that threads "should" be closed because some people find them boring.

Err, what are you talking about? I never said any thread has been closed for being too long. You need to take a break.

I have always maintained that the OP should be able to close the thread when they feel their query has been answered or it has gone on for too long. They should have that right.

I’ve only just realised that I can access BBCSounds on catchup tv. I usually listen on my iPad. The good thing about catchup is that when I listen to book at bedtime it automatically goes onto the next episode.
