Who would you invite and why?

Shakespeare would be my historical character….. God my fictional…..and Maw ( GNetter) cos she’s no none sense and I could have a row with her .

Celebrity - Margaret Atwood
Historical - Jesus Christ, I’d like to know what made him tick
Fictional - the Time Traveller whose name escapes me
GN - Ashcombe, because she is always so kind to everyone
Or Marydoll because she’s so feisty.

Gandhi...He's got a lot of wisdom
Judy Dench... such a wonderful presence
Douglas from The Marigold Hotel... kind, attractive older man who followed his heart. (Bill Nighy)
And any GN who thinks she'd enjoy these people.

Celebrity -Nigella and I'd get her to do the dinner. Her guests always have such delicious food and enjoy the evening.

Historical - Terry Pratchett. His books reflect our society and I'm interested in what he'd think of the years since he died.

Fictional -Lord Peter Wimsey. Or Miles Vorkosigan. Hard to choose.

Gran - Hard to choose.

Celebrity - Nazanin Zagari Radcliffe (can I have her husband Richard too?) for resilience.
Historical - Raimon-Roger Trencavel, who saved the Jews from the Bézier massacre.
Fictional - Mercutio, my favourite Shakespeare character.
GransNetter. Anyone with a dry wit.

Celebrity - Ryan Reynolds, funny and quick witted.

History - Boudicca - would be interesting to hear her views on the rights of women in today's society

Fictional - Derek Morgan from Criminal Minds - intelligent and handsome!

Too many GNs whose posts I enjoy to choose from!

Celebrity: Jay Rayner. Interesting, erudite and very funny.
History: Alexander the Great because I really want to know who he was about to name as his successor had he not died at exactly the wrong moment. And he loved a party!
Fictional character: Adelia Aguilar (Ariana Franklin’s mediaeval Mistress of the Art of Death novels). Ahead of her time and afraid of no one.
Gransnetter: Kittylester because we missed each other once and she’s been on my bucket list for so long!!

A celebrity, Mary Berry, she seems pleasant and will have many anecdotes and we can discuss cakes and baking.
Historical character, Samuel Johnson, as all said that he was very good company.
Fictional character, I was going to say Inspector Montalbano, but he would only speak in Italian, and in any case does not like to chat when he eats dinner. That being the case I choose Father Brown he enjoys good food and can tell us about his mysterious murder cases.
I cannot say which GN member really, but Miss Adventure could liven the evening with a few Pam Ayres style poems I think.

I would invite Archer Whiteoak as I am shy and he would make the sort of jokes that would make me feel relaxed, and he is also intellectually stimulating.

My fictional guest would be Archer from the Whiteoaks series by Mazo de la Roche

Dolly Parton and Miss Adventure would make for a good evening I think. Inspector Brunetti, from the Donna Leon books could talk about life in Venice.

Walter White from Breaking Bad, my favourite series. Did he enjoy all those hair raising adventures with Jessie Pinkman.
Fanny Cornforth always sounds interesting to me.

Steve Pemberton to chat about all the different characters he’s played. So talented and funny.
Emmeline Pankhurst to explain why I can’t vote in the next general election.
Daryl Dixon from the Walking Dead as I know he’d protect me with his life and he’s rather dishy.
Bellanonna because we have had lovely pm chats and I’d love to meet her in real life.

I shall have to think long and hard about the first few but have no doubt that MissAdventure will be my GN choice.
She is so funny and quick thinking but also very brave and caring.

JKRowling - celebrity is probably the wrong word for JKR, but she is a woman I really admire.
Thomas Cromwell- did he regret the part he played in the death of Anne Boleyn and what did he really think of Henty VIII?
Lord John Grey - a character from the Outlander series of books. Because he’s intelligent, well educated, brave, funny, kind.
Dickens - I always enjoy her posts, they are measured and thoughtful.
