Has anything made your day today?

Lovely watching my 6 year old grandson riding his bike without stabilisers for the first time yesterday.

Sometimes it is something really significant that makes a day, but often it is just a small thing that can make all the difference,

I got out of bed a little while ago and my cat ran to meet me. I was told to sit on the top stair and he managed to squeeze himself onto my knee.
I gave him a good stroke and he kept lifting his head so that I could kiss the top of it.
It's amazing how they can make us do things. Two years ago he was a very timid, tiny kitten and now he owns a house and two slaves.

What is it with cats and the top of the stairs - mine is just the same. Loves me to sit on last step and have huge cuddles.

DH was seen in Audiology and she fixed both hearing aids for him...He can hear me a little bit now.

Made me smile, and reminded me of the pea in Captain Corelli's Mandolin

On the way back from a shopping trip I noticed a friends car in front of us. I worked briefly with her nearly fifty years ago at a bakery. We were quite close knit for some years but life goes on we text now and again but rarely see each other.
We only live five mins drive away but she still works and helps with grandchildren and is always busy. She pulled up outside the house as we parked up and stayed nearly two hours and we never stopping talking.
I appreciate friends who are rarely seen but are true friends no matter how often you see them it really did make my day.

I have another - just happened! Waited outside the dentist for it to open at 9, hoping for an emergency appointment for a budding abscess in my jaw and I came over all weird and all but fainted on the doorstep (pain etc). The other person waiting was a nurse so she helped until the surgery took over, and the dentist saw me immediately. It has certainly made my day!

Not as impressive as most of the above, but I had one this morning. My fractured arm and shoulder are slowly recovering. I got out of the shower this morning and, for the first time in nearly eight months, was able to apply my deodorant to my left armpit, using my affected right arm!

I am allergic to the sprays so this was a real breakthrough. Try applying roll-on deodorant to the same armpit as the one you are holding it in — possible but awkward. ?

what made my day and made me laugh was my 3 year old grandson who is non verbal autistic, he only has one or two words, they facetimed me and i said forget nursery today, come and see granny, he put his face right up to the phone and clearly said no with a shake of his head and finger, i could not stop laughing, i guess i know my place..lol.

Yes I am very chuffed today.
My GD passed the theory part of her driving test .
Long story why she has only just done it at age 23 but it will be a marvellous boost to her self confidence.

Succeeded in opening an online bank account now Barclays are closing my account. I'm a bit wary of doing things online so this an achievement for me.

Three weeks after my catchup tv stopped working TalkTalk actually phoned me. They’re going to send out stuff that should fix it and are going to credit my account!

A tiny thing which pleased me so much - a plant I thought had died has not only reappeared in the last week after some rain but flowered today. Not much I know but it made my day. There is so much pleasure to be found in simple things.

My vet neighbour coming to give my old dog her painkilling injection as she doesn’t want her getting stressed at the surgery. I would also add she is on holiday this week but went and collected the injection. (I pay normal rate as if I had taken my dog in). Made my day.

I moved house last week. This morning I opened a new home card and inside was a generous amount of garden vouchers, from a group of friends in the town I’ve just left. I may have had a tear in my eye at their kindness. ❤️

My 4yo grandson FaceTimed yesterday after tea to tell Granny and Papa he had let Mummy cut his toe nails - all but one! He has been terrified of having this done for 2 years and required mummy to hold him down and Granny to do it so it's a big step forward! Last week he decided he was no longer frightened of the hoover - again big step forward ?

I got a letter on Saturday telling me how much my State Pension will be when I get it in October. I was very pleased to see that the amount is almost £50 more than I expected!

I had misread the information when I applied for it and thought that there would be a deduction because as a teacher I was contracted out of part of the pension scheme. But no, the amount shown had already been reduced.

Ah yes the simple things in life. The electrician came, I'm so happy.

2 things actually made my day and the 1st 1 I actually said the words "this has made my day". I bumped into someone I have known almost 40 years and not seen for about 3,4 years and it literally did make my day.

The second thing to make my day was a beautiful moment shared between a mum and her son in a care home I was visiting. It was so beautiful that I sat with tears rolling down my face.

Changing buses at the turning circle, helpful bus driver asked his colleague to wait for me so I didn’t miss the bus.

Specsavers were very helpful with my re-glazing request.
